The second-in-command of the Macross battlefortress. She is tall, with plain

     detests Hikaru for his indifference to her orders, but when she is stuck on a
     demolished Earth with a Valkyrie which only Hikaru can fly, she softens
     towards him. Hayase is a person that excudes an air of confidence in times of
     peace, but when disaster strikes, she falls apart.
