Story: After having Kagaribi his lover killed by Zankuro he is driven mad with pain. The only thing that keeps him alive is the pain in his heart for Kagaribi and his hatred for Zankuro. He kills everyone that gets in his way to his revenge against Zankuro.
Poem: He lay dying. Mere inches away lay the body of his beloved.
He too now prepared himself to spend eternity with her.
And then, something happened to him, something unexplained.
Basara lived again, but changed; in mind as well as body.
His only wish to exact horrible revenge on the one who had
slain his beloved. And he got his revenge, sweet and bitter;
the ghost of his fiancee never resting until the deed was
done. Her spirit flitted about him, always floating at the
edge of his vision, never ceasing his torment. Of course he
went mad. He wanders the earth now, having no real reason to
continue, but not wanting to end his existence.
The spirit of his beloved haunts him still, but can never be truly
with him. In the end, Basara is alone.
