Professor Mikasem was in jubilation. On the first day of the third millennium, he had successfully managed to bring the greatest band of superheroes back to life - The Aquateers.
Aqua were one of the more well-known musical groups in MTVLand. Their humourous, yet meaningful lyrics, as well as soothing and dancable tunes and beats earned Aqua respect as well as adoration from other musical artistes. This has earned them the honour of being transformed into The Aquateers. Their job was to protect MTVLand from all the horrors of the music world, and what a fine job they did - until mid-1998.
The Aquateers were in the midst of fighting the Bad Tune Monster when they felt their energy zapping. Their superhero powers were fading away - so were them. Professor Mikasem found them unconscious at the scene of the crime, and thought this to be a great waste. He decided to cyrogenically freeze until the new year, decade, century and millennium - by then they would have regained their powers, and be prepared to fight crime in a new era.
"Whoa...what happened?" asked Lene. She found herself sprawling on the carpeted floor and tried to get up, stumbling.
"Who are you anyway?" asked Rene as he got up.
"I am Professor Mikasem, one of the most respected scientists in MTVLand," said the professor, helping them up. "You are Aqua, also known as The Aquateers, MTVLand's greatest superheroes."
"We know that," replied Soren. "What are we doing here?"
"This is the year 2001, the first year of a new millennium," announced Professor Mikasem, which had the Aquateers in shock.
"YEAR 2001???" they asked. "But how..."
"You were fighting a monster when your energy levels went dangerously down," explained the professor. "I found you and decided to rescue you before it was too late, so I froze you until today - when you will be most recharged."
"O-Kay..." said Claus, a bit confused. "Whatever happened to that monster anyway?"
"Nobody knows - he just disappeared," replied the professor. "Luckily for us he was the last one to be seen...until today."
"That's good...I think," said Rene. Professor Mikasem brought them to a room with the sign "CARTOON HEROES ARTILERY - TOP SECRET" stuck on the door.
