It was a sunny day over at Wallyworld, San Francisco. Darren and Daniel had just recorded a few songs for their new albun 'Affirmation' and wanted to take a small break. Daniel was walking around the studio when he noticed a video game console nearby.
"Hey Darren, wanna play a video game with me?" asked Daniel.
"Oh no, thanks," refused Darren. "I have really poor hand-to-eye coordination...I'll end even before I start!"
"Don't be so pessimistic!" said Daniel. "Hey, here's an easy game...'Adventures Of Draken And Darkiel'...come on, play with me! I have no-one to play with, you know!"
"How about Leonie?" asked Darren kindly. He didn't want to disappoint Daniel by not playing but he was really terrible with video games.
"She's M-I-A, so is everybody else," said Daniel. "You're the only one left! Play with me, PLEASE..."
"Oh all right!" said Darren and sat next to Daniel. Daniel gave Darren one of the controllers and showed him how to play the game. Soon they were enjoying themselves, and both of them managed to get a high enough score to enter the exclusive bonus round.
"GET READY FOR A SPACE WARP!" boomed the video game. Darren and Daniel suddenly felt themselves pulled into the TV. Soon after...
"Where are we?" asked Daniel as he and Darren regained consciousness. They found themselves in a room with loads of doors and controllers. Then from out of the blue...
(the rest of the story is basically conversation so I'll just give you a dialogue)
Voice : WELCOME TO THE EXCLUSIVE BONUS ROUND, DRAKEN AND DARKIEL!
Darren: That's Darren and Daniel, you nut!
Voice : WHO CARES? THEY BOTH SOUND THE SAME. ANYWAY I AM NOT A NUT. I
AM KLORGY, THE SUPREME CONTROLLER OF THIS VIDEO GAME.
Daniel: Why are we here? What do you want us to do?
Voice : PASS THIS ROUND AND YOU WILL BE FREE, TOGETHER WITH ALL THE OTHERS WHO HAVE FAILED. FAIL THIS ROUND AND YOU WILL BE LOCKED UP IN THIS GAME FOREVER!
Darren: Wait a minute...does the people who have 'failed' include
Leonie and Walter?
Voice : YOUR PERSONAL ASSISTANT, PRODUCER AND EVERYONE ELSE INVOLVED
WITH YOU AND SAVAGE GARDEN WHO HAS PLAYED THIS GAME ARE ALL
TRAPPED IN THIS GAME AS THEY HAVE FAILED TO PASS THIS ROUND.
YOU MUST SAVE THEM - OR ELSE THEY WILL NEVER BE SAVED.
Daniel: What are we supposed to do?
Voice : THERE ARE 5 DIFFERENT SECTIONS - LANGUAGE, MUSIC, SMARTS,
MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE. EACH SECTION WILL HAVE 5 QUESTIONS
EACH. YOU HAVE TO ANSWER EVERY QUESTION IN EVERY SECTION
CORRECTLY TO PASS THIS ROUND AND ESCAPE SAFELY. YOU HAVE TWO
CHANCES TO ANSWER THE QUESTION. ONCE YOU ANSWER WRONGLY, YOU
WILL BE TRAPPED. AS SOON AS YOU PASS EVERY SECTION, YOU WILL
BE SENT BACK HOME WITH THE REST OF OUR PRISONERS.
Darren: Will anyone be allowed to help us?
Voice : YOUR ANSWERS WILL BE DECIDED BY A PLAYER WHICH IS SITTING
OPPOSITE US RIGHT THIS MINUTE. LOOK BEHIND YOU AND YOU WILL
SEE YOUR PLAYER.
Daniel and Darren turned around and saw the image of a person in front of a computer, pressing a few keys to scroll around the story.
That person, my dear readers, is YOU.
You will have to guide Darren and Daniel around the game by answering each questions correctly. Only when all the questions in every section are answered correctly will the game end and everyone gets sent back to Wallyworld. Please be honest when selecting sections - no point going to a section twice. :)
