Daniel woke up unusually early the next day - even earlier than Darren the early-bird. Even stranger was the fact that he didn't know why. Maybe I'm just too excited, thought Daniel as he made his way to the bathroom. It was my birthday yesterday anyway! He saw specks of the blue powder still on his face - specks which won't wash off. Daniel gave up washing his face a million times and decided to shave. His shave was painful though as the specks got into his razor.
Man, I wish I won't hurt myself while shaving, thought Daniel. Suddenly the pain was gone, and his face was smoother than ever. He couldn't believe it at first - it was as though it was never there. Just then he heard Darren awaken.
"Boy, you're early," mumbled a very sleepy Darren. "Did you get enough sleep last night?"
"Best sleep I ever had," replied Daniel, which had Darren dumbfounded.
"How on Earth did you get to sleep at all?" asked Darren. "The roads were noisier than ever! I couldn't sleep till 3 o'clock!"
"I guess I never noticed," replied Daniel, walking out of the bathroom. Darren gave him a queer look before tidying himself. Leonie then stumbled into the room half-asleep.
"Did you guys hear the noise last night?" asked Leonie.
"I did - but this guy Daniel didn't," responded Darren. "He slept soundly the whole time - thank God he didn't snore, or else I wouldn't have managed to catch a wink of sleep!" Leonie was surprised, but what she heard next surprised her even further.
"Walter and Michelle are cooking scrambled eggs and chicken sausage today," said Daniel. "The juice will be orange with an umbrella on it."
"What are you talking about?" asked Leonie.
"Today's breakfast," said Daniel. "It kinda appeared in my head!" Neither Darren nor Leonie believed him, but they were surprised when breakfast arrived - scrambled eggs with chicken sausage and orange juice with an umbrella on top.
"Hey Walter, did Daniel nip into the kitchen today?" asked Darren.
"Didn't see him this morning - why?" asked Walter.
"Coz he just predicted this breakfast 5 minutes ago," replied Darren. "Are you sure you didn't tell him what it was?"
"No - the only people who knew were me and Walter," said Michelle. "How did Daniel know?"
"I have no clue," replied Daniel. "It just entered my brain as soon as I stepped out of the bathroom!" Just then he turned towards Darren.
"Darren, stay away from the bathroom," warned Daniel. "You'll slip and fall!" Darren just laughed. He never fell in any bathroom ever. He ignored Daniel's advice and walked towards the bathroom - moments later everyone heard a scream.
"HELP ME!" yelled Darren. "I'M STUCK ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR!" Everyone ran towards the bathroom to help Darren, who was lying on the wet floor, unable to get up. Just then they saw something amazing.
"Err Darren, do you know what you're doing?" asked Ben.
"No - but I wish you would help me up!" replied Darren.
"You're already up, Daz," said Ben. "Up in the air!" Darren looked down and to his amazement, he was floating. Darren floated gently towards the bedroom, where he was slowly brought down onto one of the beds. Everyone then turned towards Daniel, who seemed to be directing Darren with his hand.
"Dan, what's got into you?" asked Leonie.
"Oh, I'm just helping Darren onto the bed safely," said Daniel.
"You just made Darren float!" said Anna-Maria. "How the hell did you do that?"
"Yeah, plus the predictions on breakfast and my fall," continued Darren. "How did that happen?"
"I have no clue!" said Daniel. "I just felt like I could do it, so I did!"
"You know something?" said Walter. "I think yesterday's magic show must have got him in some way!"
"Maybe it was the blue powder," said Daniel. "He did say it was connected to something magical!" Just then they heard Darren moaning.
"Oh how my back hurts!" groaned Darren, tossing and turning in the bed. "I don't think I'll be able to do any recording today!"
"You won't, and don't try," said Daniel, walking towards Darren. "Now just relax, take a day off today and sit up so I can give you a back rub." Darren was reluctant at first - Daniel's back rubs weren't something to be proud of. Yet something told him to go ahead, and when he consented, he had a surprise coming. Daniel's back rub was better than ever - it was just right, and even though Darren's back didn't hurt anymore, he didn't have the heart to ask Daniel to stop.
"Hey Dan, since when did you start practising?" asked Darren. "Your back rubs seem to be better than before..."
"I'm not too sure, but thanks anyway," replied Daniel. He and Darren were alone - everyone else had left the room. "Is there anything you need?"
"Besides more back rubs, yes," said Darren half-jokingly. "I could use a glass of Coke..." Just then a glass filled with black fizzy liquid appeared right in front of Darren's face. Darren took the glass and gulped down the drink before realizing something.
