"Oh what a boring day...." sighed Daz on a Sunday afternoon. It was Savage Garden's off day, and they just had nothing to do. Daniel, in all his boredom, took out his laptop and surfed the Internet. He then stumbled on a page titled 'Ultimately Savage Garden!'. He noticed there was a 'fan-fic' page. Not knowing what fan-fics are, he clicked on the link to find out more. In front of him were links to thousands and thousands of stories based on him and Darren. Amazed at what he saw, he yelled for Darren.
"Hey Darren! Come here and take a look!" shouted Daniel. Darren ran over to see just what was it Daniel was screaming about. He went over and read the website that was on the laptop screen. "Hey, what's this....."said Darren, as Daniel scrolled down. "Look here! Thousands of stories written about us! Now THIS is what I call CRAZY!". Darren & Daniel laughed as they chose which one to read first. They decided to try out 'Swapped Souls'. Daniel read the story out loud as Darren leaned on the bed that was opposite Daniel. Suddenly he got into a spooky trance and started calling Darren 'Daniel'.
"Jonesy! Whatever got into you! YOU'RE the Daniel, not me!" squealed Darren. Daniel laughed and told him about the story. "Can you imagine, Darren....me being you and you being me...." said Daniel. "That would be really spooky, won't it?" Darren just sighed. He went over to Daniel and noticed a link to another fan-fic, titled 'Twist And Turn Where Angels Burn'. Hearing that, Darren suddenly started singing Tears Of Pearls. "Wow, good stories these two are....." commented Darren, "wonder who wrote them...."
"Hmm...apparently both are written by someone named Tiara....wonder how old she is?" answered Daniel. They noticed a link to a messageboard there and decided to leave a few words. "Hmm...okay now...Dear Tiara...your story is very good! Keep up the good work! luv:monsier lestat & mrmegryan....ha ha ha!" said Darren as Daniel typed the message down. They pressed the 'Back' button a few times to get to the fan-fics list. "Look here - a story about me leaving the band! How ridiculous!" said Daniel as he read the description for "A 1000 Words". Darren laughed and looked for the other stories. They clicked on the link to 'Just A Twist In Time' but found a message saying that the story has been taken down. Both of them were a little upset at first, but decided to read on.
"Oh my, Darren, look," exclaimed Daniel, "2 stories about a fight between you and Colby! Oh dear...." Darren looked amazed and then remarked, "Oh well, I guess this is the fan's way of telling the other that I'm their guy! Hee hee!", with a cheeky look on his face. Daniel rolled his eyes and went on to 'With Or Without You'.
"Hey, this is original.....a story on Ben!" said Darren. They read every chapter and sighed in awe. "Aww....isn't that sweet! Imagine Ben being like that!" said Daniel. They read the others and were particularly impressed with 'Bitterone's Pilot', 'To The Moon & Back' and the others. Darren was blushing when he read 'Angel', 'Let The Sun Get Closer To The Ground' and 'Make A Wish' coz he was the object of affection. Both of them were in mock horror when they read 'The Ghost Of A Memory' and all the stories of them being vampires. After reading them all, Darren pretended to be a vampire and tried to bite Daniel's neck. Daniel backed away, thinking Darren was to do it for real. By accident, Darren's teeth touched the skin of Daniel's neck and almost made it bleed. Darren backed away as soon as that happened.
"Sorry, Jonesy...." said Darren, shaking. "Didn't mean to." "Oh it's all right," said Daniel comfortingly. "Bite me anytime, if you want! Ha ha ha!" Both of them laughed and went on to read the other stories, making sure to send a little message to the writers. Then they had an idea.
"Hey Darren," said Daniel, "why don't we type out our experiences just now and name it a fan-fic?" "Good idea, Jonesy...but then they'll know who wrote it!" said Darren. "Not to worry," said Daniel, "we'll use a pseudonym. Place it under a different name. No one will know....." Darren agreed and placed their story on a website.
