It was a rainy mid-afternoon in Malaysia. Tiara was sitting at her house, bored out of her wits. She was supposed to go to a Girl Guide gathering somewhere in town, but it was postponed due to the unusually heavy rain. Her only hope was to use the Internet, even if it means enduring moments of extreme slowness.
She went to the Savage Messages board, expecting the same old messages, but instead saw an outline of a hand and a rectangle beside it. Below the two shapes was a message, apparently directed to the regulars of Savage Messages...
"To everyone who visits and posts messages on this board...
Please place the palm of your hand on the hand outline here.
If you are a member of the Fanzine, please place your
membership card on the rectangle. After that, close your eyes
and recite this poem four times. When you have finished..."
That was the end of the message. Tiara scrolled up and down for the poem but could not find it. She then saw it materializing right in front of her eyes, inside the rectangle. Amazed, she ran to retrieve her Fanzine card and sat back in front of the laptop, memorizing the poem which was appearing line-by-line. She did as she was told - placing her hand and Fanzine card on their places, closing her eyes and reciting this poem:
"Take me to this place,
The palace of mystery,
The acre of romance,
The space of surrealism.
Take me to this dream,
The cave of fear,
The cove of joy,
The corner of excitement.
Take me there,
To the Savage Garden..."
