This Side Of Me
Chapter Three

One week flew by, and soon it was the night of the dance. Couples from all over the world came over to participate in the Carry On Dancing fundraiser, where all proceeds go straight to charity. Together with all those pairings was a very special couple - Prince Daniel and Princess Emma. They wore matching outfits of velvet light violet, except for Emma's veil, which was still black. Truly the both of them looked ravishing, and their fathers were equally proud of them.

Twang-dong! The church bell rang, indicating the beginning of the dance. Everyone who arrived went into the ballroom, the biggest room in King Darren and Prince Daniel's castle. The orchestra was getting ready to play, and the dancers were getting ready to, well, dance the night away. Not long after, they heard the orchestra play a familiar tune.
"It's a rhumba," commented Daniel, who had learned the fine arts of dancing from his aunt, one of the best dance teachers in Savage Garden.
"Rhumba...that must be a slow dance, isn't it?" asked Emma. She learnt ballroom dancing since she was young, but years of not dancing led her to forget some of the more complex steps. Emma could dance, though...as both of them thought - thank God for that!
"It sure is," answered Daniel after he kissed Emma's hand as gentlemanly as he could. "So would you like to join me for the first dance of the evening?" Emma just smiled as she got up and followed Daniel towards the middle of the room. The orchestra played on to the merry couples dancing away, whose mood could never had been more perfectly put than some of the lines in this song.

For this one time, one time,
Let my body do what it feels,
For this one time, one time,
Let this fantasy become real,
Coz I am not afraid to let you see this side of me...

Two hours had passed but everyone still kept on dancing. Daniel and Emma, too, have gone through a myriad of dances in the past two hours - waltz, polka, foxtrot, even a round of swing. The both of them, though, felt tired of all this non-stop dancing and decided to take a stroll outdoors. All was quiet as Daniel and Emma walked along trees and flowers of every variety from every country. They then decided to rest under one of the taller trees for a while to rest their tired feet.

"Aren't the stars beautiful?" asked Emma. Daniel didn't answer, for he was thinking of something else - something more beautiful than the brightest star in the universe.
"You know, these stars remind me of another wonderful star in my life..." whispered Daniel, half-hoping that Emma didn't really hear him - which she did.
"Another star? Who?" asked Emma, curious.
"Oh...well...it's too hard to say it straight out..." said Daniel, shyly.
"Oh come on, tell me," requested Emma. "You could sing a few lines of a song if you wish..."
"Oh okay, if you insist..." said Daniel, smiling. He held Emma's hands firmly but gently and turned around to look at her, although he wasn't very sure if she could see him. Music flew from his voice as he sang to Emma the words...

I want to move in time with you,
I want to breath in time with you,
I want to feel the deepest kiss,
And I want to know you feel like this...

Without thinking twice, Daniel pulled off Emma's veil in a flash and kissed her as passionately as he ever did. Emma too was at a loss for words, except for lines of a song she and Daniel must had paid the most attention to - the first song of the day.

I feel the danger, the separation,
I wanna take your invitation,
The separation, it's all around,
I need this side of me...
