=+=Savage V-D-O=+= Where your music video ideas get a shot at the big screen (we hope)
Imagine this senario: You're alone, listening to a Savage Garden song on your Walkman, Discman, whatever. As you listen to the song, images form in your head, and somehow these images actually go along, and interact with the song. After a while your visions string together seamlessly to create what could be the perfect music video for the song.
Ever had that happen to you? This is the place for you then!
Here at =+=Savage V-D-O=+=, we give you a place to air your ideas on music videos. Your visions on how the song could look like if it was composed of pictures instead of words. Your storyboards on various songs. They might not be on MTV anytime soon, but who knows? Another artiste, music video director, or even Savage Garden themselves might drop by and get inspired. It might inspire you too.
So join the ranks of Nigel Dick, Adolpho Doring, Jim Gable, Kevin Bray or Yariv - all previous SGMV directors - and share your thoughts. Your ideas are credited to you, and if anyone else wants to use them, they'll have to tell me first.
To contribute an idea, send an email or .TXT file to zahira@pl.jaring.my with your name, country, email address and the title of the song you're writing about. For the moment I'm not accepting real music videos, but who knows? Send them to SG themselves - they'll probably appreciate it. :) Email me too if you want to use any of the ideas on this site for whatever reason.
NOTE! I'm thinking of adding another 'section' to this site titled What Really Happened which describes storyboards for the actual videos. So anyone who has seen the FULL music videos for the following songs, and can actually remember exactly what happened, please email me A.S.A.P :
I Want You - Australian To The Moon And Back - Australian To The Moon And Back - International Version 1 (it's light blue and Darren has long hair) Truly Madly Deeply - Australian Break Me Shake Me - Australian Universe Affirmation - Australian/Japanese (they're the same) Crash And BurnIF the Australian version differs from the International version (the International version has sign language...someone pls tell me if the Oz one does) Halfway To The MoonIF there is such a song (according to VH1 there is...) Chained To You - Australian Violet - it got released in Brazil so I want to know if there's a video for it
NOTE! Anna-Maria and Darren are going to have solo albums soon so I'll feature songs from their albums. Daniel is the manager (I think) for a band named Halogen so if possible, I'll feature their songs here too. Ben's got his band Supanatural so his songs would possibly be featured here. If Darren and Daniel (or anyone from the backing band) write songs for anyone else, or has performed some songs, I'll feature those songs here too. (Tell me about it if it happens!)
NOTE! I'll soon include concert covers (cover versions of songs sung in Savage Garden concerts) as part of the songs featured, as well as Darren's performance of O Sole Mio with Pavarotti and the Pavarotti and Friends 2000's finale All You Need Is Love. For that you would need to include the other artistes coz it's not just Savage Garden. So far the songs that I know have been sung by Savage Garden during concerts are:
Imagine - John Lennon Spice Up Your Life - Spice Girls One Of Us - Joan Osbourne Ray Of Light - Madonna Closing Time - Semisonic
If I've left out any, please notify me. You can now create music videos for those songs, as though Savage Garden were singing and playing it.
NOTE! I know there's a country cover of I Knew I Loved You so if anyone can provide me the artist, please do so. If there are cover versions or parodies of Savage Garden songs by other artistes, I will include them, so that you can provide music videos. For example, if the Backstreet Boys do a cover of Truly Madly Deeply, you can write a music video idea for them and it'll be linked as Your Name (Backstreet Boys). This will only start when I get the name of the country artist who did IKILY, and find lyrics to Goo Goo Dolls' skank version of TMD. By the way, the songs must have been recorded first. But if anyone rescued the parody of Break Me Shake Me out on the Net (Bake Me Glaze Me) please send it in...and that'll also count since it was recorded.
NOTE! I need lyrics for the concert covers, Pavarotti performances, parodies, Mine (And You Could Be) and Last Christmas! So whoever has them please send them over to me immediately! Thanks!
