~Fascination casts a spell and you became more than just a mystery~
"Geez, what a boring day..."
Sunday morning San Francisco Bay. Darren Hayes had absolutely nothing to do. Daniel was ten thousand miles away in Australia and Leonie was nowhere to be found. Nobody else he knew was within a five-mile radius of him. Not even the seal that comes up every morning. Darren has never been this bored before.
"What on Earth am I going to do today?" asked Darren to himself. "Recordings? None. Music videos? Not for a long while yet. Interviews? Nil. Sigh..."
Darren decided to walk to the nearest Starbucks just to find a conversation partner. Unfortunately, there was virtually nobody inside, save for the attendants...so Darren just bought a Frappacino and went back out into the beach. He walked along the shore for a few miles, throwing all the starfish he saw into the sea. After what seemed like seven miles, Darren noticed a forest just up ahead.
Eh? What's this? thought Darren. A forest in the middle of the bay? The forest was deep green, with the sounds of crickets and squirrels coming from every area. The odd thing about the forest was that there were only one species of tree and a huge expanse of grass...and that was about it. No flowers, no shrubs, nothing.
"Hmm...maybe I should explore this forest round a bit," decided Darren, and walked right through the thick trees into the depth of the forest. Unconciously he dropped his Frappacino cup onto the ground and walked as far north as he could. After about half-an-hour, Darren noticed that the trees had almost disappeared and there was only light green grass - unusual for a place like San Francisco.
Darren walked on for a few more miles when he saw a flower laying on the ground. He bent down and saw that the flower was a perfectly healthy tulip, peachy orange in colour. Darren loved tulips, and this was the most perfect tulip he's ever seen.
"I wonder where this tulip came from," wondered Darren. "It's not like you can grow tulips in the US or anything..." He wanted to pluck the flower, but suddenly decided to leave it alone. Darren was walking away from the flower when he heard some chiming music behind him. He turned around and was almost blinded by some bright orange light. It was when the light died down that Darren had a shock...
