Hotaru's Classroom Class Report 1.2
Hotaru's Classroom

Sir Kyschar gathered his books and papers. "Well, I believe that's all for today. Just read your manuals on "Discipline: The Military Way" and "Strategy: Wait For Your Turn and Striiiike." We'll have some discussions on that tomorrow."

There was a bit of din as the students made their exit. The generals exchanged some nods as they left. The chibi-senshi, however, were oblivious as they crowded over Raine's notebook, which had their schedule imprinted on the back.

"We have one more class . . . at room 301."

"What type of class?" Usagi piped up.

"I don't know . . . it just says here that it's a very special class and it's a must for us to attend." She frowned in confusion. "It starts in 5 minutes, we'd better go." She packed her notebook and turned back to them. "C'mon, I can ask mom what the class is all about on the way . . ."

"Better not. We're in Room 154. We'll just have to find out on our own if we're to get there in 5 minutes." Chiharu set her backpack over her shoulder and gestured at Yuri. "She wouldn't be able to live with herself if we plan to be late."

"Yeah, like the time we were forced to wear coveralls to clean the pipes after the uh . . . incident when we were 200 years old." Usagi nodded as her friends stared blankly at her, trying to remember. "Yup . . . you know, the time we played the paint ball war in the great hall of the Crystal Palace?"

"Oh, right!" Raine said, smacking her fist on her palm. "She wailed over and over about the humiliation of wearing male coveralls and when we were done with the chore - dirty, dusty, perpetually ugly - she took one look at her reflection and was in a trance for three whole days."

"Right!" Chiharu said. "It took three days for Rumine to wake up from her own autistic trance to tell us that all we needed to do was get the mirror away from Yuri!"

"Hmf! I'm sure you're all so amused about my trauma, but we're going to be even later standing like this."

"All right," Raine said, laughing as she turned around. "Let's go -- YEEEEEEEK!"

"You're going to . . . class . . . 301?" Sir Kyschar said, his face so up close and his eyes so drippy that the chibi-senshi trembled and sweat-dropped. "Oh, allow me to escort you there!"

Raine smiled forcibly, waving her hand in front of his face. "Oh, that's really not necessary! We can just follow the numbers!"

"Oh, no, I insist!" He rambled on, grabbing Raine's and Rumine's arms. "Come on now, we mustn't be late . . ."

"We? But uh . . ."

"What? What?" He edged up closer to them, eyes large and watery. "you're not planning to insult my gentlemanly offer by refusing it are you?"

"Of course not, it's just that . . ." Usagi scratched the back of her head sheepishly.

Chiharu went straight to the point. "We can find our own way."

Sir Kyschar bowed his head.

"Now, now, sir, we didn't mean to . . ."

He raised his head, his eyes flashing red, claws coming out of his hands. "Oh, but I INSIST on bringing you there."

"Yeeeek!"
"All right!"
"Ok already!"
"Let's just go now, shall we?"

Two minutes and 21 seconds later . . .

"Here we are, children . . ." Sir Kyschar said, breathing heavily. "Room 301." He knocked on the door, his claws scraping the door.

"Coming!" Someone called.

"That voice . . ." Usagi thought. "I know it . . ."

The door creaked open slowly, revealing Sailorsaturn, who was also known as . . .

"Hotaru . . ." Usagi whispered.

Sir Kyschar's hands grasped Hotaru's (amazingly, his claws have disappeared and his eyes were back to normal) eagerly. "Hello, Miss Hotaru. I thought I'd help the students find their way here, they're new just like you, isn't that nice? And, uh, well, I was hoping that you'd uh . . ."

Hotaru's eyes turned to him. "Thank you," She said, her voice as cold as her gaze. "You may leave us now . . ."

"Um, right of course, but, ah . . ."

"I SAID you can go . . ." She snapped.

Lightning seemed to have struck Sir Kyschar, he looked stunned, hurt, and stabbed. He trudged gloomily down the hallways.

"Now I understand why he was so pushy . . . he's in love," Yuri whispered.

"That still doesn't give him a reason to freak us out like that!" Chiharu grabbed Raine's lunch bag and rushed after him.

"Chiharu!" Raine and Yuri yelled (well, Yuri raised her voice, at least to normal pitch).

"HOTARU!" Usagi cried out, reaching out to hug her friend, tears streaming down her face. "It's been hundreds and hundreds of years! I've missed you so!"

Hotaru's face remained void of expression. She stepped back and glared at Usagi.

"Teachers can not be too personal with students. I am your elder now, you will treat me as you do the other Sailor Senshi." She turned around, heading back towards the room. "Come inside, we have much to learn."

"That's Hotaru Tomoe? The one you always tell us about?" Chiharu said, suddenly appearing behind them.

"I think so . . . yes . . ." Usagi said, shaking her head.

"She's a little different from what you've told us . . ."

"Well it has been hundreds of years!" Usagi said defensively. "And she's not all that different, she's just . . ."

"I thought I told you to COME INSIDE." Hotaru's ice cold gaze swept over them, her aura radiating eerily.

". . . just transcended into a monster," Chiharu whispered.

Usagi was still staring straight ahead in shock.

********************************************************************

"We will begin with your transformation routines, also know as face up . . ."

"That's make up," Usagi said.

"How would you know that?" Hotaru snapped.

"I've . . . uh . . . done it before, remember?"

Hotaru's expression changed from hostility to interest. "Really? Well, let's see it!" She took out a small contraption and pressed a couple of buttons. "Hold it . . . I want to record your actions so you can review it later on."

Usagi nodded somewhat reluctantly, took a deep breath, and positioned her hands by the locket on her chest. "Moon Crystal Power . . . make up!"

There was a flash of light and her clothing seemed to mysteriously slip away in a flurry of pink light. The light wrapped itself around her, creating her senshi outfit as she did a few sharp movements and ended by striking a pose.

"In the name of love and for the preservation of peace, I will defeat you . . ." She said. "I am Super Sailorchibimoon!"

Raine and Chiharu whistled in appreciation.

Hotaru's face was impassive, even as Usagi turned to her for some word of praise.

"All right, let's see the rest of you go through it. . ."

Usagi's face saddened at the curt command and sat down heavily as her friends had their turn.

"Chibi-Venus Star Power . . ."
"Chibi-Mars Star Power . . ."
"Make up!"

Chibi-Mars and Chibi-Venus high-fived and inspected their clothing.

"Oh, good. I got boots instead of mom's heels," Chibi-Mars said, relieved.

"Oh, no -- I got the heels!!!" Chibi-Venus yelped, staggering. She fell in a heap on the floor . . . on top of Chibi-Mars.

"YEEEOOOWTCH!" Chibi-Mars screeched. "Raine, you weigh as much as a ton of bricks!"

"What did you say?!" Chibi-Venus tugged on Chibi-Mars's hair. "Take it back!"

As the two started to fight on the floor, Chibimoon turned to Yuri. "Why didn't you make up?"

Yuri shook her head wildly. "I can't! I just can't!"

"Of course you can!" Chibimoon said. "Just wave your hand, with your stick, of course, and yell . . ."

"No! No! No!" Yuri said, her voice rising in hysteria. "How can you stand to be seen naked in the middle of the transformation?!"

There was a moment of stunned silence.

"You'll be bathed in green light anyway."

"Sti-ill!" She shrieked in her whisper-soft tone. "It's . . . it's . . . it's . . . a lurid diplay of our bodies!"

Ten minutes later, they convinced Yuri to make up by claiming that it would be a bigger disgrace to fail the course. She consented, but not until they turned away while she transformed. In the meantime, Chibi-Venus and Chibi-Mars took punishment for misbehavior. Chibi-Venus had to walk around the room with a book on her head until she manages to balance herself.

"Chibi-Mars . . . you'll spar with Chibi-Jupiter. Maybe some training will teach you to discipline yourselves and respect your obligations," Hotaru added, staring hard at Chibi-Jupiter, who bowed her head in remorse.

"Well, this should be a snap . . ." Chibi-Mars said as Chibi-Jupiter fidgeted. "Go on, take the first shot."

Chibi-Jupiter glared at her. "All right, you asked for it!"

Chibi-Mars positioned herself.

"What! Stop this! Hotaru . . ." Usagi said desperately.

"Miss Tomoe."

"Miss . . . Tomoe . . ." She said resignedly. "Someone could get hurt."

"That's the idea."

"WHAT?!" Chibimoon and Chibi-Venus said in surprise. A crash echoed in the background as Chibi-Venus lost her balance and fell.

"If you are so scared of being hurt by your friends, you'll be crushed by your enemies, maybe even killed. I do not really care what you plan to do with your lives, but you are already the laughing stock of the kingdom since that initiation incident. Do you want to insult your parents further by refusing to take on their power and positions? Believe me, in your current states, you will NEVER be fit to replace the senshi."

Chibi-Jupiter gasped. Chibimoon slumped back in her seat, biting her lip. Chibi-Venus clenched her fists in anger. Rumine is, of course, staring into space.

"Chibi-Venus, continue walking around the room," Hotaru commanded. "You two -- begin!!"

"Thunder Oak Evolution!" Chibi-Jupiter whispered.

Chibi-Mars burst out laughing. "AAHAHA!! The . . . that was priceless! I've seen how your mom does it, she shouts it out and it comes out really strong. Her aura's enough to scare enemies, but you . . . you . . . AHAHAHAHAHAHA--"

KRAAAK-BOOOOM!!

"--AAAAOOOOOOOOW!!" She screeched, twisting in mid-air as a great bolt of lightning struck her.

"Yaaaa!!" Chibi-Jupiter screamed at the same time, shocked by the light her hands emitted. She cracked open one eye, then another. Chibi-Mars stood, limping slightly and skin blackened, her hair in a frizz. She growled menacingly. Chibi-Jupiter gulped and took a step back. "N . . . now . . . Chibi-Mars . . . this is just . . . training . . ."

"Oh, yeah? Train this!!!" Chibi-Mars took out a large wooden stick from out of nowhere and started chasing her around, waving it wildly.

Hotaru calmly took out her scythe and bonked Chibi-Mars on the head. "You will fight with your powers."

Chibi-Mars threw away the stick and cracked her knuckles. "Ok, you asked for it!!!" She raised her hands, fire forming between them. "Mars Flare . . . ATTACK!!" She finished in a yell.

"Noooo!!" Chibimoon screamed the same time Chibi-Jupiter screeched in pain as she dodged sideways, landing heavily on some tables, receiving a streak of flame on her side.

************************ One hour later ****************************

"That's all for today. The REAL training starts tomorrow."

The Chibi-Senshi groaned as they struggled to walk. Hotaru had already left the room. Yuri was suffering from burns, as was Chiharu. Raine was severely bruised by Usagi's Moon Heart Attacks. Usagi had several lashes on her body from Raine's whip/chain. Only Rumine was unscathed, since everyone failed in their attempt to wake her long enough to make up.

"That Miss Tomoe . . . she's a menace to society . . ." Raine gasped.

"Or to our bodies, at least," Yuri said, sniffling. She held up the side of her skirt, her eyes widening in horror as it crumpled to ash in her hands. "Oh, no, the disgrace! The inhumanity of it! I can't go home like this!"

"Speaking of home, maybe we should tell our parents about Hotaru . . . I mean, Miss Tomoe's class . . . Something's wrong, maybe she just misunderstood what our parents wanted for us."

"Oh, sure, like she "misunderstood" train our children for kill our children," Chiharu snapped. "Or maybe educate our children for torture our children. She's just plain sadistic. I should've just gotten a lock of her hair and . . ."

"NO! You are not going to pull those awful voodoo stuff on her!"
"What, you're protecting the enemy now?"
"She is NOT our enemy!"
"I'd hate to see what you'd define as one!"

"All right, break it up," Raine said.

"She's right, article X19 of the . . ."

"Shut up!" Chiharu and Usagi yelled at the same time.

"Meanies," Yuri said, sniffling and dabbing the corners of her eyes with a dainty white hanky.

"We can't turn to our parents, we're supposed to be training to be independent," Raine said. "We'll just have to hide these injuries and find some way to outsmart Miss Tomoe."

"I say we employ brute force on her!" Chiharu said.

"No! You don't understand . . ." Usaig said. "Hotaru's not herself . . . maybe . . . maybe . . . she's got a problem or something."

Raine and Chiharu glanced at each other knowingly.

"Well she could!"

"Uh-huh, and that gives her the right to make mince meat out of us." Raine sighed. "Look, I'm sorry, Usagi, but I can't think good about a woman responsible for all the cuts, burns, bruises, and bumps. I'm tired and cranky and I dread going home to mom . . . in this condition."

"You can all stay over at my place. Mom has meditation and my brother and sister will stay out of our hair." Chiharu's eyes clouded and she turned away, not mentioning her father's absence. He died when she was "young" (about a hundred or so years in their standards), and being the eldest she was the closest to him, and the most hurt when he passed away. Her friends can't seem to tell if her hatred of men stems from the fact that her father left her at a vulnerable age or because she believes no one can be as good as he was.

"Ok . . . I'll call mom from there. Usagi?"

"I . . . I'll just follow you guys . . . I . . . left something at home that I've been meaning to show you . . ." She rushed off without another word.

"Usagi!" Yuri called out. "Home . . . is . . . the other way."

"Ah, leave her alone, she's just upset about Miss Tomoe," Chiharu said. "She'll get over it."

"Hey, wait!" Raine said as they started to walk on. "Where's Rumine?"

"???"
"???"
"???"
