Hotaru's Classroom Class Report 1.4
Class 301

Just five minutes before the bell rang, 5 girls . . . 4 of them heavily bandaged . . . trudged in. There was only a few seconds of stunned silence before the gossip began.

"Will you look at that?"
"And you wonder how they could have wrecked a party."
"Not anymore. How wild can one get to end up like that?"
"Not wild . . . I'd bet they border on stupidity."
"Oh, but I heard Lady Mercury has an IQ that can't be rated."
"Notice that she's the only one unscathed."
"Oh, you're right."
"I rest my case."
(Laughter)

"I can't believe we risk our lives just to get maligned like this," Raine said in disgust.

"We don't have to prove anything, we know we're fullfilling our duties. Just ignore them," Usagi suggested.

"Oh, great, here come the Musketeers," Chiharu mumbled.

"Well, ladies, had enough of military training yet?" Morganite asked. "It doesn't seem to . . . agree with you."

(More laughter from the room)

"I wonder why," Chiharu said, staring pointedly at Morganite.

"Are you implying anything, my lady?"

"That depends . . . what do you think I'm implying?"

Red sparks crackled between their glares. "If I didn't know better, I'd think you were challenging me."

"Well, it looks like you have half a brain after all."

Morganite edged closer to her. "A battle of wits or skills, my lady?"

"Skills, of course. You're lack of the former would be too much of a handicap. I wouldn't want to embarass you."

He twitched in anger. "Did you hear that Alexandrite? This young lady thinks we have no brains!"

Silence.

"I SAID, did you hear that, ALEXANDRITE?"

"Uh . . . Morganite?" Lignite whispered urgently, gesturing towards their cohort.

Alexandrite stood before Rumine. "My lady . . . I am so pleased to see you unharmed. You look beau . . . er well . . . rather well today."

She shocked them all by smiling sunnily at him. "Why, thank you."

He gasped and clasped her hands, but Morganite and Malachite pulled at the back of his shirt, forcibly dragging him away.

"Did you see that? She smiled at me! Hey, what are you doing, let me go!!"

The chibi-senshi sighed in unison.

"So, what do you really think about him, Rumine?" Yuri asked. "Ru--?"

But Rumine was staring straight ahead.

Another collective sigh.

The bell rang and Sir Kyschar made a groggy entrance, from the real doorway this time . . . his clothes (same ones he wore the previous day) were wrinkled and his hair looked as though it was clobbered by something fierce.

"Good eve-- er, good morning, everyone, ah, what's our lesson for today again?"

The figure watched Usagi take her seat in front of him. He stared dreamily at her for a few seconds. It had to be fate . . . kismet . . . his glorious princess was seated before him; Sir Kyschar had not bonked him with a window and Kaesli was seated at the other end of the room.

"Really? I was going to talk about hara-kiri and give you a demonstration? Ok, let me get my dagger and some rope . . ."

Ok, this was it . . .

"U . . . u . . ." He uttered, but no more words formed.

"What's this?" Sir Kyschar uttered, taking a pink memo from his bag.

"Uuuu . . . !" He forced out, gasping.

Usagi jumped in her seat. The guy behind her sounded sick. She started to turn. "Are you all right?"

He watched in anticipation as her pigtails danced, indicating her head was turning . . . towards him. He held his breath.

"Usagi Chiba Tsukino!"

She whipped her head back in a flash, sitting up straight. "Y . . . yes, sir?"

No. No, no, no!

"Princess . . . you and your companions, the chibi-senshi, are requested to proceed to the principal's office."

They glanced at one another and stood, then left.

"Well, that's all for today, then. I'll see you tomorrow." This time, no one bothered to stop the befuddled professor from stumbling out of the room.

"Called to office after the first day . . ."
"What's to become of our kingdom if they take over?"

The four generals remained huddled in a corner.

"She did a good job . . ." Morganite said reluctantly. "Too bad she didn't finish it!"

"I say we take 'em down right now!"

"Simmer down, Malachite . . ."

In the background, the figure seated behind Usagi banged his head repeatedly against his desk.

"No. We wait." Alexandrite watched the chibi-senshi leave the room, Rumine trailing behind.

"Why?" Morganite asked, a tinge of anger in his tone.

"It's the best strategy I can think of."

"It's the safest you can think of, all right, for our enemies," He sneered in reply. "Tell me, Alexandrite, how far do you plan to go in your affection for Lady Chibi-Mercury?"

He glared at Morganite. "I admire her, which just proves I have male instincts, which is more than I can say for some people here." He glanced pointedly at Lignite.

"Why you . . ."

"Morganite, are we going to stand by this lovesick intellectual's decision?!" Malachite demanded. "The chibi-senshi are injured and ripe for conquering, what are we waiting for?!"

"Even with their extensive injuries they were able to defeat the Lady. That shows how much power they have, and more so, how much their mothers possess! Do you want to reveal ourselves so soon when so much is at stake? Many good warriors die in their impatience and rage!"

"Alexandrite has a point," Morganite held up a small black disk. "And we still have to review our enemies' weak points." Malachite sulked. Lignite appeared impassive. Alexandrite exhaled in relief and stood. "However . . ." Morganite added slowly. Alexandrite stopped but did not turn. "Good warriors also die quiet shamefully, too, from waiting too long . . . remember that." Alexandrite clenched his fists, but said nothing more as he stalked away.

****************** At the Principal's Office ***********************

Minako paced before the chibi-senshi, her eyeglasses glinting. She was dressed quite formally in a skirt and coat, but the mature style was ruined by the presence of a large red bow holding her long blond hair in place.

"You stayed out until dark on the first day of school, you ruin the hallways, frightened Sir Kyschar with your antics, and worst of ALL . . ." She added, her glasses glinting ominously.

The chibi-senshi gulped.

". . . you spent the night at Mars' home, ruining MY LOVELY DINNER!"

Raine groaned, slapping her palm on her forehead.

"What WAS THAT?" Minako snapped.

"Oh, ah, nothing mom, just swatting a fly . . . hehe . . ."

Minako sniffed. "After all that we've done for you . . . after all the means we prepared so you would grow into fine senshi . . ."

The chibi-senshi hung their heads.

"You've defeated the enemy and made us so proud!"

"What?"
"What?"
"Huh?"

"Oh . . . you've made us so proud!" Serenity said, tugging on her hanky. "Our little babies have grown up into fine chibi-senshi!"

"Aw, mom," Usagi muttered.

Sailormars, Sailorjupiter, and Sailormercury emerged from their hiding places. "We've heard all about it from Sailorsaturn. You did a good job."

There was a lot of hugging, and the chibi-senshi lined up in front of them as they had in the initiation. The chibi-senshi beamed happily.

"However . . ." Minako said gravely.

They blinked.

"There is still the fact that you have produced numerous cracks and black marks on our walls and we are on a VERY low budget." She pushed her glasses up her nose. "Therefore, you are ordered to fix the damage with the aid of our handyman."

"But . . . I thought you said the handyman was on vacation, you've been complaining about the leaks," Raine said, confused.

"I've hired a couple of temps." She whistled. "Come on out you two."

Heero and T.B. emerged, decked in clean blue overalls. T.B. was overloaded with boards, cans of paint, and brushes. Heero simply stood still with his amrs crossed over his chest.

A whispery scream of, "NO! NOT THE COVERALLS AND PAINT! NOT AGAIN!" echoed in the hallways of the school.

********************* Several Hours Later **************************

"Waaaaaaaah . . . I'll never get over this! I swear, I won't!"

"There, there, Yuri, we're almost done," Usagi said.

"Usagi's right, just one last board . . ." Raine said as she hammered one last board in place. "There! How's that? Dad taught me carpentry when I was 50 years old."

"Grotesque," Chiharu said as they eyed the pile of boards hammered on the wall. Creeeaaaakkk . . . Raine stepped back in horror, a weird cross of disbelief and twitching marring her features.

"Great piece of handiwork there, Raine!" T.B. said cheerfully, patting the wooden monstrosity. For a moment, there was silence. Then a small, but still audible, creaking sound. T.B. jerked his hand back. Nothing happened. He exhaled in relief.

Creeeeeaaaakkkk . . .

One by one, the boards fell on his head.

"Now see what you did!" Raine scolded mercilessly at the lump in the ground buried uner a pile of plywood. "After I worked so hard on it too! Now I'm going to be late for my last class!"

"Not to worry dear . . ." A muffled voice said from under the last (rather large) chunk of wood below the pile. "I'll take care of it."

Raine smiled brightly. "Why thank you, honey. That's very nice of you. Isn't he nice, girls?"

"I almost feel sorry for the guy." Chiharu stared at a straw doll in her hand, her free one holding a silver pin dangerously close to the doll's behind. "But nah, I'll torture him tomorrow."

"Wow, Chiharu," Yuri said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "You are starting to become merciful . . . rather kind, for you."

"Aw, it's nothing," Chiharu said, tossing the doll in her bag. "After all, what fun is it if I can't see him writhe in pain, what with all the boards and all?"

"It was a nice thought, Yuri," Usagi said, sighing. She checked her moon watch. "Oh, it's time for Hotaru's class! Let's go!"

The chibi-senshi dropped their tools and chattered noisily down the hallways.

"Not bad work for a first battle," Makoto said approvingly.

"They seemed to have learned a lot from it, too. Serenity was right to order us to ignore Rei's premonitions and leave them to fight on their own." Ami agreed with a smile.

"Hmm . . . she was, for once in her life," Rei muttered.

"Rei, that's mean!" Serenity cried out.

"Well, they didn't come home totally unscathed," Rei continued as Jupiter held Serenity (who was trying to claw at Rei's hair) back. "They were badly injured. I made sure they had a lot of bandages and antiseptic in our bathroom."

"I wonder why they all spent the night over at Rei's house. Had they been at my place, I would have gladly played nurse for them." Minako said.

"Aah . . . a nurse from the netherworlds."

"WHAT WAS THAT?!"

"Oops, did I say that out loud . . . EEEEYOOOOOWWWWWW!!!"

Everyone turned away as Minako laid an uppercut on the little white blur that was now catapulting in the air.

"Wow . . . daddy's flying," Diana said in awe.

The senshi cleared their throats and turned back to the matter at hand.

"I still feel it . . . they have not totally overcome the enemy. Far from it, in fact."

"We don't need your psychic powers to know that the enemy usually sends their minions first," Jupiter said.

"The chibi-senshi can handle it," Serenity said stoutly.

"It would be proper training. We can't rule forever." Ami turned to Minako.

"Ami's right. And I have two reliable spies watching over them constantly. They'll warn us if we're needed. And of course, Hotaru'll never let them come into any danger."

"She can't be with them forever," Jupiter argued.

"We all know you miss fighting, but we have far more important matters at hand until the enemy chooses to reveal itself more fully to us," Rei said reasonably.

"Oh, wow, Minako! Your school's hallway floors are so bright and shiny and slippery, wheeeeeeee!!!!! Hey, can we skate on this floor . . . . YAAAIIIIIEEEEKKKK!"

crash! tinkle! pop!

"Like training our queen further in the arts of social grace."

"There is that."

*SIGH*

"Maybe we should enroll her in Hotaru's Classroom."

Their laughter echoed loudly in the hallways, reaching even the door to room 301. But none of its occupants seemed to hear as they sat stone still in shock.

"You weren't supposed to train us?" Raine said in surprise. "Then what were you supposed to do?"

"Why, teach you proper etiquette of course. We shall begin with the history of proper tea service . . ."

Raine, Chiharu, and Usagi slumped back in their seats, groaning. Yuri squealed, clapping her hands together in glee.

Rumine stared into space, devoid of any emotion, her senses dead to the real world . . .
