(Tired sigh) Miss Tuchmetztli, can you show again to your classmates how it must be done? Milagros stepped forward. As the notes from "El Jarabe Tapatio" began, she started her dance with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. While some freezed scenes display dancing, other two classmates chat about her. Voice Classmate 1: There's already a week since Milagros become a "role model". I wonder if she gave something to the teacher. Voice Classmate 2: What? Haven't you heard about it? There's a rumor Mily already has a boyfriend. VCM #1: Whaaaaaaat?? I had no news about it! Mr. López's: Something wrong, young ladies? VCM #1: N-no! No, Sir! (nervous giggle) After a few seconds, both girls restart their whisperings. VCM #1: Sorry. VCM #2: And wait! I have not told you the best part! VCM #1: Whaaat? There's even more? VCM #2: (Suspense pause) They say her boyfriend goes to COLLEGE!! VCM #1: NO WAY!!!!! Mr. López: Please, get out of the classroom! VCM 1&2: B-but...! Mr. López: Young ladies... VCM 1&2: Yes, professor. Right in that moment, the music stops and Milagros finishes her dancing with an ample smile. Mr.López: Thank you very much, Miss Tuchmetztli. OK, everybody once again, from the beginning! =========================================== Yaocihuatl Coyolxauhqui's Codex. Amoxtli Ce: The Long Way to Redemption. Amatl Caxtolli (Chapter 15): Spring Maid. By: Mahtlactli Atl. ============================================ Milagros never figured the upcoming surprise by next day, during her so hated typewriting class. Milagros: Ouch! (Licks her index finger). Teacher: Any problem, Miss Tuchmetztli? Milagros: (Thinking for herself) As if I have not already told my tongue out telling her the keys of this typewriter are too tight! (To her teacher, faking kindness) Nothing, Miss Esquer. Excuse me. Then, one of the school workers knocked at the door. Miss Esquer: Keep on the drill, please. While the students kept typewriting, the teacher went out to chat with the worker, who was standing in front of a young girl. Milagros stopped her typing, caressing her hurt fingers while trying to figure out what was happening. Short after, Miss Esquer came back into the classroom. Miss Esquer: Youngsters, say welcome to a new classmate. Come in, Miss Flores. Then a foot of the young girl entered the classroom. When her second foot followed, many male students' faces turned into wolfheads. The new student was an extremely beautiful brunette, both her face and body, and each of her movements had a natural "sex-appeal". Her hair was turquoise coloured. She seemed a young TV star, and certainly not a second-tier one. Miss Esquer: Why don't you introduce yourself to the class, young lady? Student: (After nodding to the teacher) My name is Atzimba Flores, and I{ve been just transferred from Michoacan... and... that's all. Miss Esquer: Please have a sit at that free typewriter, Miss Flores. Obviously, the "free typewriter" was free due to the lousy condition of its keys. The faces of many students turned back to normal, probably ashamed by not offering her a better machine, while the female stundents, Milagros among them, were looking curiously at what would she be able to do there. Many of them noticed her beautifully cared hands. Miss Esquer: OK. Let's go on with page 10 drill. The class kept on the exercise. Atzimba made a small gesture at the first typing, but she kept going. After around three minutes, the girl took the paper sheet out of the typewriter. Miss Esquer: Miss Flores, I haven't said the drill is over. Atzimba: But I already filled the sheet, Miss. All of the other students turned at her in shock. Milagros remembered all of the times she tried to use that typewriter, her first day at school, and she was hardly able to write 5 lines in 3 minutes. Miss Esquer took the sheet from Atzimba, and displayed a great surprise. There were just a couple of mistakes all over the exercise. Miss Esquer: (Wipping her sweat with a hanky) Quite... quite OK, Miss... students, please hand me your sheets. All of the others handed their papers, most of them ashamed about the few lines they've written or the big amount of mistakes they made. Miss Esquer: Th-thanks, class. You all can leave for your next class. It was so weird Miss Esquer let their students dismiss before the bell rang. Her students were almost always late for their next class, but now there were 10 minutes left for the hour to conclude. A huge sweatdrop appeared all over the class, but pretty soon most of the male students were introducing themselves to their new classmate. Student 1: Hi! What's your name? Student 2: Where do you come from? Student 3: Do you already know the school? And a huge amount of etceteras. Atzimba: Ohhh! You all are sooooo kind! Please, speak one by one, will you? All of the female classmates left to the yard until the start of their next class, Milagros among them. She couldn't understand why, but there was something strange about the new girl. Malinalli: Hi, Mily! Milagros turned to find her friend Malinalli, who was with a tiny girl, quite pale and sick-looking, with lots of cough. Milagros: Hello, Maly! My typewriting teacher allowed us to leave early due to a new classmate. Malinalli: That's quite a coincidence, the same happened to us! Look, this is Anastasia, my new classmate. Milagros: Your... your new classmate? Oh, Hi! So-sorry, but... but you look so... childish! Anastasia: (Between coughs) Don't... don't worry... It happens all the time... Right then, while Malinalli and Anastasia chatted to her, Milagros saw Atzimba walking to them, surrounded by her brand new crew of classmates. Milagros noticed disliking in her eyes, looking at Maly's back. Milagros: ... Malinalli: ...to be honest, Naty is... something's wrong, Mily? Atzimba: (Sarcastically, to Mily but looking at Malinalli) Hellooooooooo! You're part of my group, don't you? She pulled Malinalli by one of her shoulders, scanning her in front for the first time. Was then when she noticed Maly's handicap, and her expression softened like magic. Atzimba: Ooooops! Sorry, I was tripping. (To Milagros) You're the funny last named girl, don't you? We better hurry or we'll be late for the next class. After this, Atzimba and her fans kept walking. Malinalli: Hey! Who's that girl? Milagros: (Coldly) Mi new classmate... the Queen of Sheba. Malinalli felt quite puzzled, while a weird shine appeared at Anastasia's eyes. At recess, Malinalli and Milagros met at Mily's favorite tree, joined by Anastasia, while Barbara was displaying her basketball talents at the small school's court. Malinalli: She did what?? Milagros: That's true, Maly. She stared at you with real hate when she stared at your back while you were talking to me. I mean, she seemed about to "eat you alive"! Malinalli: But, why? I cannot get it! Milagros: Honesty, neither do I. Anastasia: Maybe... (new coughs). Milagros: Take it easy, Naty. We can go to the school clinic if you want to. Anastasia: (Denying) No... cough, cough... Don´t worry about this. Barbara's voice: (From the court) How did you call me, "tequila-hair"??! The girls stood up, noticing Barbara was walking really angry to Atzimba. Student 1: (At Atzimba's left) Cool down, will you? She didn't made you a thing! Student 2: (At her right) Yeah! And after all... you DO play like a man! Barbara: I'm talking to the cow, not to her ticks! Atzimba: (Loosing her temper) What did you say? Barbara: (Bouncing the basketball really close to Atzimba's nose) You already heard me! Or are you deaf, too? Atzimba placed her hands over her face, and hided at the back of one of her classmates... and carefully cleaned her nose on his sweater. Student 2: (Atzimba's "hanky") Let's better go! Let's left "gorilla" do what she knows to do. The group walked away, but Barbara threw the basketball to the back of the boy. Barbara: "Gorilla" is the ugliest at your home, you stinking...!! The guy came back menacingly to Barbara, when suddenly, out of nowhere, a dark-grey and hairless dog appeared in front of Barbara, displaying his teeth menacingly to him. Atzimba gave a high-pitched shout of freight, and jumped into the arms of another of the boys, who immediately blushed and drooled. Atzimba: Eeeeeeek! Let's go! That dog's gonna bite me! Then she went down from his arms, slapped his cheek and dragged him to the front of the school. Milagros and Malinalli were still surprised. They never expected Tameme to appear so suddenly. The bell was ringing, calling the end of recess, but the four girls and the dog were still there, unable to speak due to Anastasia. Finally, Barbara clenched her fists, took the basketball and ran to slam dunk it with all of her might, while offering a shout of rage. Bárbara: AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGHH!!! Then she smashed the supporting post of the basket and left her fist there, fulfilled in anger. Malinalli: Barbara... Barbara muttered something the others were unable to understand. Milagros: (Shyly) What? Barbara: Lesbo!! That stupid %$@$% called me "lesbo"!! Malinalli and Milagros went to her, trying to comfort her, but Tameme bite Mily's skirt and pulled it, and then began to bark like playing. Milagros: Eeeerrr... (Turns to see Anastasia and sweatdrops) Maly, Naty, can you both please help Barbara? I... I must head my dog back home. Milagros and Tameme went to another place of the backyard, where the fence has a hole often used by students looking to skip classes. Milagros: What's up, Tameme? Tameme: I don't know... but just a moment ago, I felt something pretty weird around here. I... well, I felt TWO presences. Milagros: Two... "presences"? What do you mean by that? Tameme: I don't know... at least not for sure, but is it possible... maybe... Maybe we're close to the two "Yaocihuameh" we're lacking to face the final battle! Milagros: Whaaaaaat??! (Blushes and scans to see if anybody heard her) I-I-It means that... maybe... we'll have to... fight? Tameme: Or maybe they're just a couple of Tezcatlipoca's minions! I told you I'm not sure! (Sighs tiredly). The only thing I know, is Tlilcoatl's time to come down is almost over us. It would be a great luck for us to find those two lacking warriors as soon as possible! Milagros: Well, you better leave, or I'll have some troubles for sure. Right after Tameme left, Mily felt a hand over her shoulder. School Guard: Any trouble, Miss Tuchmetztli? Milagros knew she would spent the rest of the hour standing outside her classroom. For the last class of the day, Mily's group had folk dance. Mr. López: Come on, come on! I can't believe none of you had understand a single thing I told you. Miss Tuchmetztli, could you...? Atzimba: (Lifting her hand) Professor! Mr. López: Yes, Miss Flores? Atzimba: May I try it? Milagros turned to Atzimba, quite surprised. Mr. López: Go ahead. Mr. López's assistant turned on the music again, and Atzimba began to dance. Milagros was swinging between surprise and jealousness. She had to recognize Atzimba was quite good... No, she was REALLY good! She finished her dance, and awaited for her professor's comment, but he remained silent. Atzimba: (Upset) Pro... Professor? Mr. López: Not bad. Atzimba felt like cold water falling over her head. She went back to her place, trying to act as if nothing had happened, but her hands were denoting her anger. Mr. López: Miss Tuchmetztli, can you show us how? After class, Milagros went to her teacher. Milagros: Mr. López... may I ask you something? Mr. López: Yes, Miss Tuchmetztli? Milagros: Why... why do you think Atzimba's dacing isn't good? Mr. López: Why do you ask me such thing, Miss Tuchmetztli? She began to play with her fingertips. Milagros: Well... no, I really don't know why... it's just... she seemed quite good for me... Mr. López: I was expecting that, among all of my students, you'll be the first one to find out such point, Miss Tuchmetztli. Milagros: What do you mean? The mature professor, around his 40s, stood up slowly and sitted atop his desk. Mr. López: Do tell me, Miss Tuchmetztli. When YOU dance, what do you feel? Milagros: What do I feel...? (blush) Well... I... I feel something quite beautiful... I feel music warming myself... I feel everything my people and my country is... I feel a big proud on being mexican... I don't know! It's so hard to put it in words... there are so many things... Mr. López: Precisely. Such is the problem with Miss Flores. Milagros: How is it? Mr. López placed a hand on Milagros' shoulder. Mr. López: Miss Milagros. When you dance, you remind me a lot of myself when I was your age. Milagros: Professor... Mr. López: My mother used to say I looked so handsome with my Jalisco's typical suit while dancing "El Jarabe Tapatío", and when I reached the state's folk ballet... Oh, God! How sweet it was! I was so close to reach the National Folk Ballet... Milagros: And what happened then? The teacher went back to his desk, sighed, removed his glasses and began to clean them. Mr. López: The most weird thing you can imagine. I injured my knee while playing backyard soccer, and even when I had no major sequels, my level dropped down below the ballet's standards. Milagros: I'm sorry about it, Mister López. Mr. López: I also felt it quite hard back then, but I'm over it now. Thanks to that, I could devote myself to teaching, and I really enjoy to share the same passion I still own for our national dances with my students. To have students like you is my biggest rewards, Miss Tuchmetztli. Milagros: (blushing again and smiling shyly) Thank you very much, Sir. Mr. López: I´m sure you have a bright future in folk dancing, Milagros. You own a natural "knack". Milagros: You... you ashame me, Sir. Mr. López: ...But such thing is precisely Miss Flores's problem. Milagros: How is it? Mr. López: I know that for any classmate, and even for many teachers, Miss Flores offered an overwhelming performance. And I also recognize she has a pretty good technique... (He sighed slightly, while Milagros stared at him, quite interested) But she wasn't transmitting anything, since she wasn't FEELING anything. She just stood up and danced, aiming to impress me and all of her male classmates. Milagros: But... how can anybody find out that, Sir? Mr. López: My father always used to say: "Youth is the only illness which hails just with time". When you{d danced a lot, traveled a lot and tought to dance lots of people, I'm sure you'll also be able to find such things out, and quite faster than me. Milagros: (Quite moved) I hope it happens, Sir... I really appreciate the high concept you own about me. Mr. López: You deserve it, Miss Tuchmetztli. Let's hope Atzimba can find out that same way... since I'm afraid her problem goes quite far away from dancing. Milagros: Eh? Mr. López: (sighing) Well, I guess we better leave back home. Until tomorrow, Miss Flores. Milagros: Thank you, Sir! Good- (she stared at her wristwatch) Oh, my Goooood!! Mi boyfriend will come for me! Thankseeyoulaterrr...! She left the classroom at full speed, not waiting for an answer. Mr. López just smiled as she left. Mr. López: (Wipping his glasses again) Youngsters.... Milagros exited the school, since Donaji agreed in driving her to her training session. From the fance's door she scanned for him, and there he was, but a smile freeze on her face as she found a girl happily chatting him. Her turquoise coloured hair with cubical odangos was unmistakeable, but the worse was that she had folded her unfirom's skirt, to make it appear shorter. Mily was unable to hand such new trick from Atzimba, and went running away. Fortunately for Donaji, malinalli was going out from school right after her, and was about to touch her shoulder when she ran away. Malinalli: Mi... Milagros, wait! She went tunning after her, and caught her just after a few steps. Malinalli: Milagros! What happened? Donají: (Reaching her, with Atzimba a few steps back) Milagros? Mily, something's wrong? Milagros stared into his eyes, and then hugged him tightly... and crying. He just stood a moment, but the hugged her while caressing her head. Donaji: Mily, tell me what's happening? Something wrong at school? Atzimba: (First feeling angry, then surprised noticing whom was he hugging to) Hey! What are you... Ulp!... H-Hi! We were talking about how hardmy first day was. Wasn't it hard, Mily? Malinalli turned to face her quite amuzed, and Atzimba easily guessed her next reaction would be one of anger. Atzimba: (Sweatdropped) Will, I'll see you tomorrow. Bye! Donaji, Malinalli and Milagros just watched surprised how Atzimba turned a corner and went away. Malinalli: Easy, easy, Mily. Just don't pay attention. Donaji: Mily, what's wrong? Milagros: (Staring at him a bit coldly) What were you doing with her? Donaji: Just talking. What did you think? Milagros: (About to cry) That's... it's... Donaji: (Tenderly lifting her chin) Milagros, are you jealous? Milagros: (Exasperated) Jealous? Of course I am! Don't you think that... Donaji: (Placing an index finger over her mouth) Milagros. All over our lifes we all have many friendships, and I believe it's not fair for a couple to miss such chances of friendships for our loved one. Milagros: What are you...??! Donaji: Shhhh! Let me finish, please. Nobody has never had too much friends, but there are relationships which own an special place, and such places must never be misunderstood. Not for loving a boyfriend, you should love less your father or your uncles, do you? Milagros stared quietly at him. Donaji: But anyway, your parents or your couple, own a place nobody should share, and such relationships need a special respect, am I right? Milagros nodded slowly. Donaji: The place of my girlfriend is yours, and for nobody but you. And while we both honour such place, it doesn't matter what anybody else can try, no? Milagros: But... but Atzimba is so... Donaji: So? Milagros: So... beautiful. I cannot help feeling jealous. Donaji: (Caressing her cheek) You silly. Do you figure how bad would I look if I began to feel angry about all of your dancing couples, and I'm sure a lot of them will be quite handsome, when you become a professional dancer? Milagros: But that's another story! Donaji: Why? Milagros: (Speaking lower and lower) Because... because that'll be my job... because... Donaji: (Lifting her face carefully) Milagros... I want you to hear this promise. Milagros: What? Donaji: (Releasing her face and grabbing her hands) You are free. Milagros: (Opening her eyes wide) What? (Hugs him tightly again) What do you mean by that? Donaji: Calm down, Mily, and look at me (He gently pushes her a little back, and she stares at him) I love you, I really do, but due to such love, I don't want you tied up to me if you wanna share your love with somebody else. Milagros: (About to cry again) But I don't want to! Do you hear me? We're linked by many more than a promise! Malinalli: (Clearing her throat) Ahem... Mily... Milagros blushes and looks around the street, but other people, unaware of them or keeping a respectful distance, are away from them. Milagros: (Toying with her fingers) Well... you know. Donaji: (Lifting her chin again) I know. And as long as you love me, I'll be there. But I repeat you: if anytime you want to give the place of your boyfriend to somebody else, Just tell me and I'll move apart. Milagros: I'll never left you! I swear I'll never do! Donaji: Neither do I, and in behalf of this love, I trust you completely. Do you trust me? Milagros turns at him and nods slowly. Donaji: I cannot control the way people acts or feels about me, but trust me, I'm all sure on my feelings about you. Milagros keeps looking at him, while some tears run over her cheeks, behind a half smile. Donaji: That's why I repeat you, sweetheart, that you are free. Donaji lowered his face to hers and kissed her lips, shye promptly answered the kiss, but they were interrupted by a crowd clapping them. They splitted suddenly, blushing in shame, and Malinalli began to laugh, followed by some people around them. Only Atzimba, hidden behind the corner, was not laughing. Oppositely, she clenched her fists in anger, and then walk away. Donaji: OK, let's go. Milagros: Well... I believe a small walking to the field would make me feel better. Can you just drive by my side, please? Donaji: Sure. Milagros: Malinalli, can you walk with me? Malinalli: Eh? Of course, but... Milagros: Please. Malinalli: (Giggling) OK. Let's go. Both girls began to walk to the football field, with Donaji driving his small car next to them. Milagros: (After a few minutes) What do you think about his words? Malinalli: Well... for all I know, there are a lot of female students in Anthropology, and many of them are highly coveted as beautiful. To be honest, when my uncle went to college... Milagros: (With an inflated vein and a funny angry face) You better keep quiet, will you? Malinalli: What I mean, is that I believe was marvelous the promise he made to you... To be honest, I would love to find a man who to tell me just the same... but... (She lifts her stumps in front of her abdomen) but I... Milagros: You'll find him too! Malinalli: Eh? Milagros: (Walking in front of Malinalli, she grabs her arms and starts to walk backwards in front of her, staring directly at her friend's face, offering a big smile) You'll also find a guy as great as Donaji, you'll both fell in love, and we're gonna have a huge double wedding! Aren't you agree? Malinalli: Mily... Do you really think I...? Milagros: We're gonna celebrate a double wedding! I ain't gonna marry if you don't marry the very same day than me! Do you promise? Malinalli: Oh, no, Mily! I cannot promise something like that! What... what if I can't...? Milagros: I know you will, and I really believe in it! That's why you have my promise! Do I have yours? (She lifts her right hand in front of her face and extends her pinky). Malinalli: I cannot answer such signal, Milagros... Milagros: (Keeping her high mood) OK. Your stump will be fine. (She then places her hand in a "C" form). Malinalli: (Blushing) Mily... (She lifts her right arm and places her stump inside her hand). Donaji: (Shouting from his car) Eh? Mily, look out! Milagros: Alright!!! Now that's- (Right then, her back crashed with a light post. She freezed, her eyes grew wide and her pupils shrinked, and a tear hung from each one). Malinalli: Mily! Oh, my God! Donaji: (Stopping his car and running to her) Milagros! Like timber, Milagros felt slowly and funnily to the ground. Malinalli and Donaji knelt by her side. Malinalli: Mily! Mily, I'm sorry! Donaji: (To Malinalli) But... what happened? Malinalli: It was an accident! We were just walking, and she...! Milagros: (Her face in the ground yet) Teehee. Both Donaji and Malinalli facefaulted and blinked twice. Milagros: (Lifting her right arm with a "V" sign. Short after she lifted her face to Malinalli) And nothing about stepping back, OK? Malinalli: Mi-ly... She slaps her shoulder with her stump, and the trio began to laugh, but suddenly, a smile freezed on Donaji's face, as he kept looking to the sky. Both girls turned to where he was looking, and they saw a couple of lights flying quickly to them, passing over their heads and landing on a nearby house at the other side of the street. Milagros: Oh, no! Why it always happens at the worst possible moment? Malinalli: Let's hurry! TO NANTZIN CHALCHIUHXOCHITL, OLLIN! Donaji went running, surrounding the house. Milagros: (Kneeling on the ground) Hey! Why don't you wait for me?! Tameme: Because you're really slow, no cihuanton. Milagros: (Jumping in surprise) Yyyyeargh!! When will you stop to freight me like this? Tameme: (Tired sigh) At this rate, I guess it'll be before you master your powers. What are you waiting for?!! Milagros: (Ashamed) You're right. TO NANTZIN METZTLI, OLLIN! Into the store, two students from the secondary school were lying unconscious on the floor, in front of a youma half woman, half wasp. Youma: teehee... now i just need to wait... Voice: What do you think you're doing? The mictlacatecolotl turned to the entrance, and found two of the warriors it had come to face. Coyolxauhqui: You've attacked innocent people, and that's not fair! I'm Sailor Coyolxauhqui, and for my redemption and to pretect Macuiltonatiuh, we're gonna stop you! Mayahuel: I'm Yaocihuatl Mayahuel, and I'm here to stop you, too! Demon: huhuhu... I'm Mictlachilpan, and my Lord Tezcatlipoca commands me to destroy all of you. Kyyyaaaaa! (Throws a stings attack over them). Mayahuel: METEPAMEH, INTLACPAC! (The stings felt at the girls' feet) I bet you own something better than this... Demon: You can bet I do. Voice: What's happening?! Both warriors turned, and surprisingly found Atzimba, looked to the scene with a deep anxiety expression. Coyolxauhqui: At... Mayahuel: You better go back! It's dangerous to be in here! Atzimba: But... my mother! Where's my mom?! Demon: Hehe... Your mother is in here, damn macehual (paths her own hip). Atzimba: (Terrified) You... you ATE her??? Demon: (Sweatdrop) Of course not! (Evil smile) I'm using her energy. Atzimba: (Grabbing a broom) Le-leave her. Coyolxauhqui: Wait... Atzimba: (Charging into the giant wasp) GIVE ME BACK MY MOOOOOOOM!!! Demon: Shameless dumb! Kyyyyaaaah! The youma threw a stings attack right to her. Atzimba opened her eyes widely, and then shut them tight. Everything is black, and a red line flashes. Slowly, Atzimba opened her eyes and found Coyolxauhqui covering her, with a wound on her arm. Mayahuel: Coyolxauhqui! (turns to face the demon in anger) Damn you! Two of us can play the same game. HUIZMETMEH...! Atzimba: NO! Please don't hurt my mother! (A weird green symbol suddenly appears, shining on her forehead) Quetzalcoatl: (Appearing from the rear door) TEO TOQUIEHECOATL, YE! (A small wind tornado sent the demon flying to the other side of the room) Coyolxauhqui: A-are you...? What's... this? Tameme: (Suddenly appearing behind Coyolxauhqui) YOU!! Atzimba: (Trying to kick Coyolxauhqui away, frightened by the surprise of a talking dog) Aaaaaiiiie! I... I what? I'm not! Tameme kept his eyes on her. His stare switched a couple of times between Atzimba and Coyolxauhqui, and then to the mictlacatecolotl, which was recovering from the attack. He stared worriedly to Coyolxauhqui one more time. Tameme: (Closing his eyes and turning his head to the ceiling) Please, make this work, Mo Tahtli Huehueteotl... (He starts to run in circles). Coyolxauhqui: (Trying to stand up) Tameme... YYYEEEEARGHHH!! (Falls to the floor in pain, clutching her arm). Quetzalcoatl: Coyolxauhqui!! (Runs to her) Demon: Hehehe... You better don't move, cihuateo. Each move you make will produce you a pain increasingly more unbearable. Quetzalcoatl: (Carefully clutching her) Easy, Coyolxauhqui! We'll get out of here. Mayahuel: (Standing in front of them) Take her away, Quetzalcoatl! I'll cover you! Coyolxauhqui: (Trying to lift her head) No! I-IiiiiaaAAIIIIEE!! Quetzalcoatl: Don't move! Please don't move! Tameme: (Ofering a new nahuiollin to Atzimba) Accept this, please! Hurry up! Atzimba: (Angry) What? Male you had to be! Will I ask her autograph, or what? Tameme: (Sweatdropping) This is NOT a matter of sex! You are the sixth Yaocihuameh, Xochiquetzal, and we need you NOW! Atzimba: I'm a what??? Demon: NOW DIE! STINGS ATTACK!! Mayahuel: METEPAMEH, INTLACPAC! (Arises her energy barrier, where countless stings began to strike) Whatever you're gonna do, do it faster, Tameme! Tameme: (To Atzimba) Lift this jewerl and shout "To nantzin quetzalli, ollin". Atzimba: (With a wise face) And what will I win with all this? Mayahuel: (Tightening her eyes to keep concentrated, but with a vein popping on her temple) To not suffer like HER! Don't you thing that's enough? Coyolxauhqui: (Turning increasingly pale) Ple-please... Hear... AAAAAIIIE!!... her TamemeEEEEEE!!! Quetzalcoatl: (Clutching her to his chest, trying to be himself the one in motion instead of her) Don't move! (Lowers his voice) Please, don't move. Atzimba stared at Quetzalcoatl feeling somehow angry, and sighed with a wicked smile and turned to face the Demon, concentrated on her attacks. Then she stood up and lifted her medallion. Atzimba: TO NANTZIN QUETZALLI, OLLIN! After the phrase, Atzimba's silhouette began to shine on green, while shining figures with the shape of 5-leafs daisies, began to shower around her. Keeping her arms up, the silhouette knelt on her right knee, two cubical "odangos" appeared on top of her head, and a rose of light formed under her, which petals slowly ariused to envelope her. After a few moments, the leafs slowly felt again, revelaing Xochiquetzal in her finished fuku, with a base of peacock blue, with a yellow trim on top and skirt, and shoes similar to Sailor Mars's, also in peacock blue. She was wearing a jade yecapil, and a green tiara with four daisies along it. Tameme: Thank you. Now... Xochiquetzal: (To Mayahuel) Shoot that off! Mayahuel: What? Xochiquetzal: Shoot that barrier off! Both Mayahuel and Mictlachilpan stared at her in surprise, but the new warrior seemed incredibly self-assured. Not sure why, but Mayahuel picked to obey and cancelled her barrier. The Youma tried to take an advantage. Demon: You fools! Stings attack! Xochiquetzal: (Crossing her arms in front of her chest, a ball of energy starts to form. Then she makes a turn and opens her arms) YAOTLA XOCHITEQUI! On her phrase, a beam of flowers flew to the stings, neutralizing each of them. Demon: What? It... can't be! But more flowers were already flying on the demon, and slowly began to envelope her. Demon: No! This is impossi... Mmmmmmmphhhh!! Finally, the flowers covered the demon head to toe, and like a cocoon, felt to the floor. Xochiquetzal: We must finish this Mictlacatecolotl now! This is all I can do for now. Mayahuel: Oh, no! Coyolxauhqui is the only one who can do it right now! Quetzalcoatl: Tameme, go for Tlazolteotl! Hurry... eh? (He stared to Coyolxauhqui in shock) Wait! What are you doing? Clutching her wound with all of her strenght, and her face displaying a deep pain, Coyolxauhqui began to stand up. Mayahuel and Quetzalcoatl tried to help her by her sides. Mayahuel: Wait, you can't... Coyolxauhqui: (With tears of pain flowing on her pale face) Uuuuuuuuurgh!! Mayahuel: You are not in condition to... Coyolxauhqui: (Weakly moving her hands to the Nahuiollin) Co... COCHIiiih! (She had to stop, biting her lips to don't shout in pain) Quetzalcoatl: Mayahuel! Help her over there! Mayahuel: OK! (Standing at her back, carefully placed her maguey leafs under her forearms, and began to help her reach the gem. With some tears on her own eyes, Mayahuel whispered in her ears) Come on, Mily... Hurry up. As the golden Nahuiollin began to grow, the Demon was able to free an arm, and with it uncovered her face. Demon: What are you doing? Coyolxauhqui: Co... COCHIQUETZALMETZTLI, AXCAAAAN!! Demon: NNOOOOOOOOOOOO!! The energy from the Nahuiollin flew to the Demon, anihilating it. As the light fainted, Atzimba's mother appeared and felt limp to the floor. Her crystal heart remains floating on its place a few moments, and then slowly felt back into her body. Right after this, Coyolxauhqui also felt fainted, exhausted by her own effort. Mayahuel: (Holding Coyolxauhqui in her leafs)Coyolxauhqui! Coyolxauhqui, hang on! Quetzalcoatl: She's fainted, but I don't know if she's still poisoned by the sting. Tameme, I asked you...! Xochiquetzal: Maybe I can help. Place her on the floor. Quetzalcoatl and Mayahuel obeyed. Xohiquetzal knelt by her side and joined her hands, like hiding something which she kisses softly. Then slowly opened her hands and placed them on the wound. Xochiquetzal: XOCHITEXTLI, IPATIA. Moving her hands away, a "plaster" of green light covered the wound, and slowly vanished with it, as well as the paleness on Coyolxauhqui's face. After a few moments, she began to open her eyes slowly. Coyolxauhqui: Wha... What happened? Xochiquetzal: My powers will not heal her completely. She will be weak for a few minutes. Coyolxauhqui: (Lifting her hand to her) Thank... you. Xichiquetzal: (Standing back with a cold stare) You saved me and I saved you, therefore we're even. You better get ready. Mayahuel: What?? Xochiquetzal: (Pointing at Quetzalcoatl) This man is mine. Mine from the start of the suns... and i came back just for HIM! You better don't try to prevent it! Mayahuel: (Staring menacingly at her) What a bunch of crap are you saying? Xochiquetzal: (With a mocking smile) This is not your business, but if you want troubles, I can deal with you too. (She bows in front of Quetzalcoatl, and caress one of his cheeks) My Lord, you and me are destinated to each other. You know it quite well, so don't hold back the Goddess of Youth and Beauty. Coyolxauhqui stared anxiously to him, but he simply ain't answered the caress. He stood quiet and expressiveless. She lowered her eyes and placed her head on his chest. Then she turned back to her, with a flash of anger, but quickly recovered and smiled back) Surely you don't remember it right now, but you'll find it's unavoidable. I'll be looking at you. She stood back, blowed a kiss to him, and then went away. Mayahuel: You knew this could happen, Tameme? The dog ain't answered. He kept looking to the door where Xochiquetzal had just dissappeared. Tameme: (Closing his eyes and looking down) I'm sorry, no cihuanton, but I... I'm not sure if our mission is greater than your heart... At the black mirror hall, Tezcatlipoca laughs loudly. Mictlantecuhtli: Now what's wrong with you? They just need one more cihuateo. If they find my wife before you, you can be in deeper troubles than with me. Tezcatlipoca: Troubles... me? HAHAHAAA! Can't you see it? It's just too perfect! Mictlantecuhtli: What are you talking about? Tezcatlipoca: The Goddess of Love has settled her eyes on quetzalcoatl, and she will not step back until winning him. That woman only can awake the darkest side of Coyolxauhqui. Mictlantecuhtli: And you'll be there to get her, I guess... Tezcatlipoca: (Smiles meaningfully to Mictlantecuhtli, and then to the mirror) Xochiquetzal is right. Just as Quetzalcoatl's destiny is next to her, Coyolxauhqui's is with me. There's no turning back. Mictlantecuhtli: I'm getting bored of this. You just find my wife, and my support will remain yours. (He goes away) Tezcatlipoca: (Caressing the obsidian mirror, like not listening him) There's just one difference, my dear Xochiquetzal, a single difference you don't know about... and it's that, for you and the rest of Macuiltonatiuh... There's no future at all! HAHAHAHAAAA! BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA! A little later, tired and depressed, Milagros came back home, with her right arm bandaged. Mother: Milagros! Where were you? Milagros: (Trying to smile) I'm... I'm sorry, mom. Donají had to take me to the doctor... It seems a wasp stinged me. Mother: Oh, sweetheart! Are you alright? Milagros: Y-yes, mom. Nothing serious... Mother: (Lifting her face) There's nothing more? Milagros: (Her eyes getting wet) Y-yes... but I don't wanna talk about it right now... really... I'm gonna see Purita. Mother: (Hugging her) OK, honey. I guess she's at her room. Please, don't hesitate to call me if you feel bad or need something. Milagros hugged back a few moments, then slowly stepped back and went upstairs, to the small room where Purita was living since her arrival. She could hear her playing her guitar, just like every night. Purita: "El amor es vida que se muere en la mentira, (Love is life which dies in lie,) Es poema que nace y se vuelve canción. (Is a poem which borns and becomes a song) El amor escucha con el alma, entiende, (Love listens with the soul and understands) El amor no traiciona, en el siempre hay perdón. (Love never betrays, it always has forgiveness) Es oasis tranquilo de creación divina, (Is a peaceful oasis, of heavenly creation) El amor no se define, el amor es amor". (Love is undefinable. Love is love) (Song "El Amor es amor" (Love is love), Lyrics by: Prisma). Finishing her song, Purita turned to the door and found Milagros standing there, looking at her with tears in her own eyes). Purita: "Niña" Milagros. What's up? Instead of an answer, Milagros ran and knelt next to her, hugging her tightly and sobbing uncontrollably. Purita: Milagros... (After blessing herself, she slowly answered the hug). ============================== END OF CHAPTER 15.
