Lina Inverse, Sorcery Genius, and her dense yet dependable "guardian",
Gourry Gabriev, strolled the streets of Timbal, a small town near the coast,
contemplating over which restaurant to eat at. This was no easy task, lots
of thought and consideration would be partaked and turned over many times
before the decision was made. Gourry pressed his nose against the glass
windows of "Sensai Bowel's Shabu Shabu Shack"....Just as a drop of slobber
began to form at his mouth, he was pulled aside by Lina who was heading
towards the restaurant entitled "FOOD FANTASY: ALL YOU CAN EAT." Gourry
immediately followed his companion towards the restaurant. The minute that
the brown door opened, a refreshing smell of meats and side dishes galore
filled their noses.
"Ah...look at all that food, Gourry!" Lina shouted, grabbing him by the
collar. Her small gloved hand was pointing towards the buffet tables
overflowing with delicious food. They're eyes gleamed with joy and hunger!
"Itadaki-Masu!!!" They yelled simultaneously. With god-speed, Gourry and
Lina ran towards the food, each with a tray in their hands. They quickly
scooped the food on to the tray, grabbing as much as possible.
"Ano...there are plates to go on top of the trays...." a young waiter
commented after seeing that Gourry and Lina were using...no..plates....and a
rather LARGE sweatdrop appeared at the back of his head. Suddenly, Lina
turned towards him with flared eyes and protruding fangs.
"HEY, Buddy! i don't tell YOU how to eat!" She yelled. The waiter cowardly
wimpered away in hopes that the furocious girl wouldn't attack him. The
restaurant grew dead quiet. Everyone was staring bug-eyed at Lina and
Gourry.......and their trays. After a few awkward seconds, Lina's eyes
turned into upside-down "U"s and she started to scratch the back of her
head.
"Gourry~, you shouldn't eat so much all at once!"
"EH!??" Gourry exclaimed in disbelief. Everyone shrugged then turned back to
their meal. Gourry and Lina found an empty table and sat down to enjoy their
food. They began to scarf down every morsel, barely even chewing.

"Eh, did you hear that the Princess of Seyruun...Princess..whats-her-name is
to be married soon?" a man with brown hair and an orange shirt at a near by
table discussed.
"REALLY? Is it true? When'd you hear this?" Asked another man with blonde
hair and a green vest.
"Yup, heard it yesterday evening. My son had to go to Seyruun on a business
trip and he just returned last night. He said that they Princess of Seyruun
just turned 18 and her father, Prince Phil was pushing her to get married."
At this point, Lina and Gourry's hearing were aimed straight towards the
table and they're eating was at a sudden pause..which didn't happen often.
"So, who's the lucky guy?" Questioned another man in a blue shirt.
"I dunno, but i think it's some prince from some kingdom...everythings
planned and ready to go.-"
"HEY! Wait a second! You wouldn't happen to be talking about Princess Amelia
Wil Tesla El De Seyruun, are you?" Lina asked slamming her hands on their
table.
"YEAH, that's it! That's her name!" the man in orange shouted.
"What else do you know about this?" Lina asked pressing her face near the
frightened man's.
"Well, the prince is supposed to be really rich and really nice."
"Oh that tells me a lot.." Lina said facefaulting.
"Oi, do you know if Princess Amelia had a say in this?" Gourry asked.
"I don't know--Look if you want to know more, why don't you just go to
Seyruun yourself?" The orange man suggested.
"Yosh! Gourry, lets go!" Lina exclaimed loudly pulling Gourry along with
her.

It was dusk, and the orange sun was just beginning to set. Zel sat quietly
in his room at an Inn. Suddenly, he opened his eyes and looked in the
mirror.
"You are a cold, heartless swordsman, you are a cold heartless swordsman,
you are a cold heartless swordsman--" Something caught his eye. It was his
canteen of water, and there around the neck was the pink bracelet with the
star enclosed by a blue bulb. He picked it up and a very slight smile
flashed on his face.
"Ridiculous..." He uttered, then tossed the canteen onto his bed. After
sitting in pure silence for a few seconds, engulfed by the peacefullness of
the evening, Zel repicked up the canteen and stared at the bracelet. Several
memories flashed by....'the time when there was a gigantic spider behind
Amelia's back, the time when she dressed me up in drag, or when she ran in
to cast a shield in front of me while we were fighting Kopi Rezo, oh and
that time' --he stopped fast.
"No, you are a cold heartless swordsman, you are a cold heartless
swordsman---" He tried to remind himself, then he gave in, "ugh...face it
Zelgadis...your nothing but a mushy snooky wookums..." He said to himself in
shame. Falling back on to the soft matress, he fell asleep clutching to his
canteen.

The early birds chirped to welcome in the new day as the dark sky turned a
light, fresh blue. Then, as if to interrupt the serenity of the dawn, a
knock was heard from the other side of the door.
"Ano...uh, excuse me, room service!" Said a voice. Zel's eyes flinched and
he groaned as he pulled himself off the bed. Stretching, he let out a yawn
and headed towards the door as the annoying knock continued.
"I'm CoMiNg!" He shouted. Turning the door handle, he found a maid holding a
fresh warm towel, a pitcher of water, and a scrolled up newspaper. Taking
those supplies, he thanked the women and tipped her. Zel poured the water
into a bowl and proceeded to wash his stoned face...literally, his stoned
face. With the newspaper in hand, he grabbed what few belongings he had and
left his room. Downstairs, the restaurant was busy with locals and travelers
all wanting a bite to eat for the morning. Luckily, he found a one person
table far off in the corner where he could quietly think and be cold and
dark and mysterious. Patiently he waited to be served....and he
waited....and he waited...Finally, he got up and snapped his fingers.
"Can i get some service over here? i've been waiting for a while.."
"Oh, gomen nesai, but you were too far off in the corner, no one saw
you.....But, what can i get you?"
"A cup of coffee would be nice." He commented. As his order arrived,
Zelgadis unscrolled the complimentary newspaper and read the headlines.
"Tsk...same old news every single day. Bandits rob a local town, The
Abominable Fiend Lina Inverse Dragon Slaves a Band of Robbers, Nyara Nyara
Hot Pot Rated 5 star restaurant, Princess of Seyruun to be Wed: Wedding of
the Century, FOOD FANTASY Going Out of Business, Trolls harass passing
travelers.....same old news every single day---WHAT!?!?" Zel exclaimed
spitting his coffee all over the table. His eyes immediately drifted back to
the "Wedding of the Century" article.
*************************
"With the recent 18th birthday of Princess Amelia Wil Tesla El De Seyruun,
her father, a healthy, beast-like man, Prince Phillionel has urged his
daughter to get married soon. Yesterday evening, it is official that the
petite princess will wed Prince Sebastian Dane Hans O'Montague III in 2-3
days at "The Grand Garden of Pacification" within the walls of the Seyruun
Castle. No comments from either the bride or groom, but one from the father
of the bride, quote: "Nyahahaha~." All are invited to attend. This is the
first matrimonial ceremony of a Seyruun Princess in 70 years."
*************************
Zel's eyes became bug-eyed and he became speechless after finishing the
article. Grabbing the newspaper and his personal items, Zelgadis attempted
to run out of the restaurant, when suddenly, he stopped cold in his tracks.
'What am I doing??? This isn't any of my business.' He once again sat down
to re-evaluate things. No, this wasn't any of his business, so why did he
all of a sudden get up and run...no, he needed to be calm, not to mention
the fact that he STILL had to find the cure to his cursed form...BUT, than
again, Lina and Gourry were sure to be there for the wedding..maybe they had
a lead on a cure or maybe they could help him find his cure AFTER the
wedding took place. '*sigh* I guess I don't really have a choice then, looks
like I'll have to go to Seyruun afterall and attend this Wedding of the
Century....'

"Amelia! Oi, Amelia!" Prince Phil Shouted through the hollow castle. He sat
like a boulder on his thrown in very flashy..or rather tacky attire. Up in
the princess' room, Amelia sat in front of her vanity mirror as her maid
brushed her smooth, jet black hair. She heaved a sigh, and picked up a pink
pearl necklace given to her as an engagement gift from Prince Sebastian.
"Please tell Father that I'll be right down" She addressed to her personal
maid.
"Hai." With that, the maid left the grand room. The sunlight leaked through
the large windows overlooking the castle gardens. It cast its bright streaks
across Amelia's face. She clasped the pink pearl necklace around her neck
and adjusted her crown, making sure everything was okay. Then she took off
her pink bracelet with the blue star. She had this bracelet for as long as
she could remember. Seeing only one on her wrist, Amelia thought back to
when she had given Zelgadis the other one.
"Amelia!" Came the ever-so persisting voice of Prince Phil. Picking up her
skirts, Amelia walked out of her room towards the grand staircase which led
to the thrown room. Her dainty slippers carried her in a pompous manner down
stairs. There, she found her father laughing...*shudder* with his royal
subjects. At the precense of her, all of the royal subjects went to their
knees welcoming her into the room.
"Please, get up," Amelia ordered, "Daddy, you wanted to see me?"
"Hai, Amelia. My daughter looks so beautiful today, just like your mother
and Gracia." With this comment, Phil took a few minutes to hold back his
tears which were now glittering up his eyes, "Prince Sebastian will be
arriving in a few minutes, he will be staying with us until the wedding."
"About the wedding, i don't know if i can go through with it. I mean,
there's so much injustice in the world, if i get married, who will take care
of the evildoers that infest the towns with their virus of black evil which
feed off of the innocence of the bystanders!" Amelia cried out with passion.
"You can still fight for justice when you're married! It's just that you'll
be managing a family in the mean time, and you'll become the Queen of
Montague. Besides, after the marriage, you and Sebastian can fight off
evildoers TOGETHER!!!! IN HOLY MATRIMONY!!!"
"Eh......if that's your way of making me feel better, its not working." she
said smuggely. Phil sweatdropped.
"Besides, there are many people out there who are also fighting for
justice....like Lina Inverse and Gourry Gabriev...oh and that one creepy
looking guy...Zelgadis."
"Daddy! it's bad to judge people by appearances! Zelgadis may seem alittle
creepy, but he's really a good person."
"Sorry Amelia." Phil said a bit ashamed,"I'm going against everything i've
ever believed in!!!" He shouted horrified. Amelia seemed even more depressed
then when she arrived into the room at first. 'Zelgadis-san..........--'
"Prince Phil! Princess Amelia, the Montagues have arrived!" Cried a
breathless guard that interrupted her thoughts. Phil offered Amelia his arm
and she hooked his with hers. They walked in a very dignified manner with
servants following behind to carry the in-laws' belongings. Phil's face
spread into a terrifying grin and he urged Amelia to do the same. All she
could muster out was a genuine, friendly smile.
"Phil-san!!!" Came the shrewd voice of Queen Montague III from the royal
carriage, and following close behind her was King Montague III.
"Konnichiwa, Phil-san!" King Montague III exclaimed. Phil and Montague III
exchanged suffacating bear hugs. Finally, out of the carriage came Prince
Sebastian. As appropriate, he gave a slight bow towards Phil and approached
Amelia. And as appropriate on her part, Amelia held out her hand and he gave
a slight kiss. Prince Sebastian had sandy brown hair and rich blue eyes. He
wore a hat with a dainty feather and a large cape surrounded his body.
"Hello, Amelia-san." he greeted.
"Hello Sebastian." Amelia replied getting a faint blush. Phil then led his
visitors to the castle and introduced them to their guest rooms. After
lunch, Amelia was to accompany Sebastian on a walk in the castle gardens.

The afternoon set in pretty quickly without her even knowing it, all Amelia
could think about was this wedding she was being forced into.
"Amelia-san, shall we go on that walk now?" Sebastian asked gently. She
nodded. 'Well, if this is what Daddy wants, i guess i have no choice.
hmm...i wonder if Lina-san and Gourry-san are coming? Oh and Zangulas-san
and Martina-san, and Xelloss-san...no, Xelloss probably couldn't survive
through a wedding...and Sylphiel-san and Filia-san....Zelgadis-san would be
a no show, he's not into this kind of stuff.....'
"Oi, Amelia-san, I asked you a question." Sebastian reminded.
"Eh? Gomen ne, I was in deep thought." Amelia replied smiling sheepishly.
"Oh, that's okay. I was asking, are you looking forward to this wedding as
much as I am?" He asked.
"Uh...um..."Amelia hesitated, but then she saw Sebastian's face grow weary
at her hesitation,"Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be? This is a great
opportunity for Seyruun and Montague to unite as one powerful force,"
colorful smoke blew behind her, "we will be known as the kingdoms of
JUSTICE!!! "At this comment, Sebastian grinned.
"Hai, Amelia-san! We'll fight for justice as husband and wife and destroy
all who get in our way!" Amelia couldn't help but sweatdrop. The two were
then strolling quietly through the flower gardens. Suddenly he stopped and
picked a pink rose. The prince handed Amelia the rose.
"Ugh...thanks Sebastian-san." 'Aww...he's so sweet.' She thought silently
while trying her best to smile. 'Nice guy, but, i do feel kind of awkward.
Please let something happen, anything!' Suddenly as if her prayers were
answered, Amelia could hear arguing from a distance. She ran to the castle
gates with Sebastian at her heals.
"Wait a second, buddy, I know the princess! We traveled together on
adventures and stuff, so why don't you do yourself a favor and get out of my
way!!!" Came a shrill voice.
"You should just do what she says or your going to regret it later." Came a
second lower voice of caution. It finally struck Amelia, COULD IT BE?!?!?
Grabbing her skirts, she rushed towards the entrance.
"What part of 'i know the princess' DON'T you understand???"
"Sorry Miss, but i can't let you through without authorization--"
"SHE DOES HAVE AUTHORIZATION! My authorization." Amelia shouted with a smile
on her face. Lina and Gourry's head swung towards Amelia as the castle guard
dropped to his knees.
"Amelia!" Lina cried.
"Hi Amelia, howz it going?" Gourry chimed in slightly waving.
"Lina-san! Gourry-san! You made it!!! I wasn't sure if you were coming!" she
shouted in relief. Lina and Amelia hugged, squawking with excitement. The
Princess then felt a tap on her shoulder. It was Sebastian.
"Lina-san! I almost forgot, meet my fiancee, Prince Sebastian Dane Hans
O'Montague III..."Amelia blurted in excitement.
"Well, well, Amelia, I'm surprised to see you ready to settle down." Lina
added as she winked.

That evening, a big feast was held...not for celebration of the engagement,
but because Gourry and Lina were over....^ ^*. The meal was peaceful for the
most part. Surprisingly, Gourry and Lina were behaving quite nicely. Small
talk was made during supper, and it concluded smoothly. Soon after, every
one retired to their rooms, exhausted and full. In her room, Amelia sat in
front of her mirror.
"This is going to be so exciting. I can see it now! The wedding will be
beautiful..plus Sebastian is such a nice guy. I'm glad that Daddy really
likes him. He's nothing like Zelgadis-san, he's so cheerful and his spirit
is guided towards justice and the celebration of peace!" She said to herself
while combing her hair, "Just wait, everyone will be there. We're all going
to be so happy, and especially since Lina-san has agreed to be my maid of
honor. It will be great. Filia-san, and Sylphiel-san will be my bridesmaids,
i can't wait until they get here! And tomorrow, we're going to have the
pre-wedding ball, everyone in Seyruun will be
there!........everyone....besides......besides........for" Amelia stared at
herself in the mirror. Her eyes widened to see that they were filled with
tears, "everyone will be there except for...." She placed her face in her
hands and began sobbing, "except for Zelgadis-san......." Once again, she
looked in the mirror, her hands clutched into a fist and her eyes were
staring cold into the reflection of herself...'What's wrong with me? *sob*,
it's my wedding in two days and i think that Sebastian is a wonderful
person.....so why am i crying?'

Zelgadis continued to walk through the White Magic City of Seyruun. From
where he was, he could see the view of the castle clearly. Most likely,
Gourry and Lina were already there, so it shouldn't seem so weird if he were
to get to the Castle first. The streets were littered with small stands
selling "The Wedding of the Century" merchandise. The excitement of the
tomorrows wedding filled the air. Some venders were selling small pouches of
rice, some had posters of the Princess and the Prince, others had rose
petals and other various "lovey-dovey" items. Zel made his way through the
town with his hood to sheath his face from visibility. Out of no where, a
man selling merchandise came after him, persuading him to buy coins with
Amelia and Sebastian's face on them.
"Look at these beauties, very rare coins, and you'll only get them here in
Seyruun for a limited of time. It's a real rare collectors item. You look
like a coin collector yourself--"
"No thankyou, not today."
"Come one, only 2 silver pieces a coin!"
"No really, its okay.."
"2 silver pieces!!! such a good buy, you wouldn't want to miss it! besides
it celebrates the prince and princess' undying love for one another!" he
said holding up two fingers.
"THAT'S IT. NO I DO NOT WANT TO BUY YOUR COLLECTOR COINS, AND I AM NOT A
COIN COLLECTOR AND YOU'D HAVE TO BE STUPID TO BUY ONE LOUSY COIN FOR 2
SILVER PIECES!" Zelgadis yelled with an inflated head. Everyone around him
looked on in disbelief, They all appeared shocked by his anger. Swinging his
cape around him, Zel picked up the pace and continued for the castle. This
was absolutely preposterous. The merchants of Seyruun definitely knew how to
make a business out of local events, this one happening to be one of the
biggest. As he walked, Zel passed a poster that was stuck hastely on the
wall of a pub. There they were, the two ever-so happy couple. He paused and
looked at the paper. Amelia had a "victory" sign up and Prince Sebastian was
doing a salute, they both had glittering white teeth...'Whatever'.. Zel
thought placidly to himself. So Amelia had now become postergirl for love
and happiness. He couldn't help but wonder what sort of person this
Sebastian guy was. Probably kind and good-hearted, no doubt. Afterall,
Prince Phil would, no way in hell, let his daughter marry some cold,
self-righteous man. Zelgadis couldn't help but let out a foolish little
laugh at the thought of Phil and his crazy over-protectedness. Nah, he
probably wouldn't want to be part of that sort of family anyways. He saw
several stands selling fresh flowers of all sorts, red roses, pink and
yellow tulips, and white carnations. If he were to be going to the Seyruun
Castle and meeting Amelia, he would have to bring her some kind of gift, it
was only expected. Flowers seemed like a good present, but then again, it
might seem a little too personal. Then, seeing that since he was sure that
giving her a gift of"The Wedding of the Century" Merchandise was less than
what she'd expect, he didn't have much of a choice.
"Excuse me, Miss." He called to the women behind the vending stand.
"Yes? how may i help you today sir?"
"I'd like a dozen roses--" NO WAIT! Men only gave a dozen roses to girls
they liked...that wouldn't work. She WAS getting married tomorrow, so it
would also be unappropriate, "Change that, i'd like 13 yellow tulips."
"Um..okay..." The women said a little strangely. Who ever bought 13 yellow
tulips? "What kind of card would you like to go with it, sir?" She continued
to ask while recording down his order.
"What do you have?" Zel asked..'who knew buying flowers would be this
complicated?' The women brought out a stack of assorted colored cards. She
then spreaded them out on her table. There were numerous, "i love you" and
"I've missed you cards" some had "Get Well" written on them, but finally he
found the one he wanted. It was a card that had 2 rabbits sharing a carrot
and etched in fine silver caligraphy was "I'm glad we're pals."
"I'll take this one." He told the women. She had finished wrapping up the
flowers and charged Zel. He tucked the flowers and card underneath is arm
and continued on his way to the Castle.

Finally, he was here. Seyruun's castle. He walked up to the guard at the
gate and began to speak.
"Hello, would you please tell the Princess that a man by the name of
Zelgadis Greywers is here." The Guard nodded and proceeded to pass the word
to a fellow guardsman. Minutes later, he was greeted by Princess Amelia,
Prince Sebastian, Lina Inverse and Gourry Gabriev. He clutched the bouquet
of flowers nervously in his hands which were sweating like crazy. Amelia was
dressed in a light green dress that had semi-puffy sleeves and went in at
the waist. It was tied in the back with a cute little bow and the dress
poofed out again below. She wore a silver crown and in her hands was a
gorgeous bunch of assorted colored roses most likely given to her by
Sebastian...how could his 13 yellow tulips compare to that? He had to get
rid of them!
"ZEL!" Gourry shouted,"good to see you again, how long has it been again?"
"Hey Zel, you actually made it! that's a surprise!" Lina added.
"Zelgadis-san, you're actually here! I thought that you wouldn't come!"
Amelia shouted in high-spirits. She looked on at him with warm eyes and a
slight blush. He stared at her beautiful flowers to avoid eye-contact. For a
faint second, Zel smiled back at her, but then as if he caught himself
off-guard, his face returned to the calm expression inwhich he wore for so
long.
"Of course I'm here, i need Gourry and Lina's help in looking for a cure.
Here Gourry, these are for you..." He replied coldly while handing Gourry
the tulips. Everyone sweatdropped. Lina and Gourry then stared back at him
strangely, not because of the flowers, but because of the tonicity of his
voice.. There was a moment of silence. The two had an angry expression on
their faces. 'Damn, why did i just say that...'Zel asked himself. Prince
Sebastian soon broke the peacefullness.
"Amelia-san, shall we go prepare for the ball tonight?" He asked nervously.
Amelia, who had appeared to be a little offended by what Zel commented,
quickly turned cheerful again. Now facing towards Sebastian she smiled.
"Right, lets go, after all everyone will be expecting the BRIDE and GROOM to
be there first!" Amelia replied, making sure that Zel could hear loud and
clear. Hooking her arm in his, the Prince and Princess started to head back
towards the castle. Zel sneered quietly at himself. Out of nowhere, Gourry
bopped him over the head with the bouquet of tulips.
"..what was that for?..." Zelgadis said, picking the scraps of flowers from
his hair. Lina looked back at him with fangs.
"What was THAT all about Zel?" Lina questioned suspiciously.
"Yeah, since when did you ever want us to come along and help find your
cure? You always told us that it was personal business.......and since when
did you ever want to buy me flowers?" Gourry said puzzled. Zel looked back
at the blonde and red-head calmly.
"So...maybe now i need your help, as you can see, my search for the cure
isn't going anywhere." Zelgadis replied. Lina glared back at him with small,
beady eyes.
"What's in it for us?" She asked--er rather demanded, "what do we get for
helping you look for the cure?" Zel began to think deeply...'Oi...i can see
that this excuse isn't going to work, Lina will want to be paid, ALOT...and
where am I going to come up with five million something dollars that she'll
no-doubtly ask for.'
"Quit looking so worried Zel, i was only kidding. I don't want anything. I
know that you told Amelia that CHEAP excuse only because you don't want to
admit that you've come here to stop the wedding!" Lina shouted.
"What? what are you saying, that's nonsensical. Why would i want to stop
Amelia's wedding?" He retorted.
"Oh come on! You honestly don't want me to spell it out for you, do you?"
She intimidated pointing at him..
"Stop putting words into my mouth! I never said i wanted to stop the
wedding!" He rebutled.
"Whatever! The bouquet of flowers? This Appearance for Amelia's wedding?"
"Hey, that bouquet of flowers was for....okay never mind that. But i told
you, i'm only here because I need your help on finding my cure."
"Like Gourry said, when have you ever needed US to help you with your
'personal' business?" Lina said. Seeing that there was no way that he could
win this conversation, Zel began to walk briskly towards the castle. Lina
and Gourry tried hard to keep up with him. Without any warning, Lina grabbed
him from behind by his collar.
"Oi ! Zel! What are you doing?" Gourry inquired dumb-foundedly. Lina nudged
him in the elbow grinning shamelessly.
"I don't know Gourry, but i think someone's got a crush. Look, he's
blushing!" The two stared as Zel stopped instantly. For five seconds, Zel
stood frozen in his steps. Then swiftly he turned around, "So now what are
you going to do? Blurt it out to the whole world?"
"Yatta! I knew he'd admit it!" Lina exclaimed, "well, what have you planned
to stop the wedding?" Zel sweatdropped, and took a deep breath.
"I'M NOT GOING TO STOP THE WEDDING!"
"Well, uh, then why did you come to Seyruun in the first place if you
weren't going to stop the wedding? I know if Lina was Amelia, i'd stop the
wedding." Gourry explained. Lina blushed madly, "GOURRY! what are you
saying--"
"I--i don't know what i'm supposed to do. Enough of this, shouldn't we get
ready for the pre-wedding ball?"
"Right, right, let's go minna." Lina said half-satisfied with the results of
her interrogation.

Amelia was dressed in her outfit for the night, looking beautiful as usual.
Sebastian had offered to take her for a walk before the guests arrived for
the ball. The two trudged silently through the castle grounds admiring the
beautiful sunset. Amelia sighed gently.
"Amelia-san, i can't believe that we're getting married tomorrow. I promise
i'll make you the happiest girl on earth!" He vowed doing a boyscout pledge
sign. She laughed at his antics.
"Mm, and I'll do my best to fulfill your wishes..." She told him while
hugging on to his arm. The evening was so peaceful and calm eventhough the
streets were littered with horse-drawn carriages of all sorts. Tonight was
the night that they celebrated the engagement of the two people and yet it
was a little too hard to believe. Then, Sebastian stopped, took her hands in
his, and turned to her face.
"Now, Amelia-san, are you sure that this is what you want? Are you sure that
you want to spend the rest of your life with me?" He asked. This question
sent her into a deep memory lapse. Spend the rest of her life with this man?
Well, she obviously knew the answer to that...or did she? He was such a nice
guy, so well-mannered and well-behaved, it was only dutiful for her to say
yes. WAIT! This wasn't about duties! no, this wasn't about duties at all!
So, did she want to spend the rest of her life with Sebastian? And if no,
then who was the person she wanted to spend her life with? Her mind floated
towards the face of the one person that she wanted to say when asked WHO she
wanted to be with. It was someone who was willing to risk his life for her,
to jump into action the minute she was in trouble, someone who was willing
to look stupid in order to help his friends, someone who was there to back
her up, to stick together....................it was someone who was willing
to push her out of the way and take the hit when the demon king, Gaarv was
ready to kill her, someone who, though he didn't really want to, was willing
to dress up in a rabbit costume or drag to get them through the town of
Femille and the scary mansion of marrionettes, and someone who supported her
cause for eating at Nyara Nyara Hot Pot and cast the Rah Tilt with her
without a moments hesitation......--
"Amelia-san, well?"
"Sebastian....If I were to be in the line of fire...would you ever jump in
to push me out of the way and take a hit for me?" She asked seriously.
"What are you talking about Amelia? What would ever make you ask something
like that--"
"Just answer me."
"Well, of course i'd jump into push you out of the line of fire."
"Really?"
"Just as long as i don't get hit." Sebastian added with a cowardly laugh.
WHAT?? What kind of man was he? And he claimed that he was
justice-guided....Amelia removed her eyes from his as she could feel them
begin to water.
"Amelia, you haven't answered my question yet." He pressed.
"Huh? Oh yeah, of course i'm willing to spend the r...rest of my life with
you." He smiled proudly and led her towards the castle gates where the
guests would soon be arriving. Mr. Kabin, the head janitor, was there
sweeping up the scraps of garbage littering the floor. Amelia walked up to
him as she saw him dust flower petals into his scooper.
"Hi Mr. Kabin. How are you this lovely evening?"
"Oh, Amelia-san, I'm fine, and you look as pretty as ever tonight."
"Kabin-san, what are you doing right now, the guests will be arriving soon!"
Sebastian stated to the old man..
"Some body littered the ground with all sorts flower petals and it just
wouldn't be acceptable for the guests to see all this garbage over the
floor.."
"You're so dependable Mr.Kabin." Amelia complimented patting the man on the
back.. She stared to the ground as he finished sweeping up the petals and
something caught her eyes, it was a piece of paper on the ground with some
sort of cartoon on it. Slowly she bent down and picked it up.
"Kawaii..." She said softly as she looked at picture of two rabbits sharing
a carrot. Flipping open the card, she saw her name printed at the top.
"Amelia-san, the guests have arrived!" Sebastian called out to her. Hastely,
she tucked the card into her handbag and followed the Prince to the gate.

By 8 pm that evening, most of the guests arrived. Filia arrived with Val. He
was sitting in a basket that Filia had on her back. Filia was excited to see
all her friends again and came decorated in a beautiful sky blue dress.
"Amelia-san! You look so beautiful tonight! I can't believe you're getting
married! And that boy is so kind and generous! Oh and I brought you a gift!
It's this special berry blend tea, and it comes with one of my favorite
pieces from my pottery store!" Filia brought out a round, smooth tea pot
containing tea bags inside. Amelia greatfully accepted the gift and placed
it on a table filled with a variety of other presents. The blonde woman and
her toddler were seated at a large table where Lina and the rest were.
Sylphiel appeared soon after in a light purple gown and carried a box of
herbs from the newly rebuilt Sairaag.
"Hello Amelia-san, i'm so happy to see you again...but i never thought that
you'd be getting married to someone other than....Anyways, I brought you a
present. Where are Gourry-sama and the rest of your friends?"
"Oh, right over there. Arigatou Sylphiel-san." Amelia replied pointing
towards the table that Filia was just directed to. Following the arrival of
all the guests, Amelia, in a light yellow dress, along with Sebastian, made
their way to the front of the ball room. They took a seat in the thrones
that were placed there initially for this moment. Eventually, the room
became quiet, all ears were intent on hearing this announcement. Amelia
cleared her throat and proceeded to talk.
"I'd like to thank all of you for coming tonight and celebrating the
matrimonial unity between me and Sebastian. We are deeply honored to house
you under our roof. This marriage will be an everlasting--" Amelia suddenly
paused from her speech. Her glare had stopped upon seeing Zelgadis amongst
the numerous faces. She had completely lost track of what she was saying and
stared blankly at the chimera's face. Zel looked back at her trying to seem
as though he hadn't noticed anything was wrong. His arrogance got the better
of him as she sat there captivated by his lack of emotion.
"Amelia-san, go on, they are waiting for you." Sebastian said. Several
giggles were heard as well as some "kawaii"s. Amelia blinked several times
then tried to focus her mind on the speech she had worked so hard to
present.
"This marriage will be an everlasting......an everlasting..." At this point,
her eyes were glittering and glossy. How could she let her emotions get the
better of her at a time like this? Swallowing hard, she recommenced her
speech.
"This marriage will be an everlasting bond of peace and l--love, together,
Sebastian and I have agreed to work, thinking only with our riteous, justice
drenched hearts. Together, we will serve as King and Queen of Montague and
Seyruun." Several voices were heard saying "oh look, that's so cute, she's
even getting emotional over this little speech."
"That's right. Tomorrow will be a day when all our dreams will come true,
when justice and love come as one and work efficiently to satisfy the needs
of our people!" As Sebastian said this, Lina turned to Gourry, "This sounds
more like a business contract rather than a wedding." Unexpectedly, trumpets
sounded from nowhere. Everyone's gaze flew to the enormous double doors that
swiftly swung open.
"Please make way for the King and Queen of Xoana!!!" Came a voice. Gasps of
shock were heard as Queen Martina and King Zangulus made their way into the
ball room. They walked pompously in a nose-in-the-air manner, glittered in
jewels and well suited clothes. All eyes were glued on the haughty-mannered
queen and her husband. Several guards then approached them, pulling the King
and Queen away from the center of attention. Martina pulled her hand away
from the the guard who was holding on to it in order to guide her to the
table. She brought our her silk-covered fan and smacked the man with it.
"But, your heiness, I've come to lead you away from the center of attention.
Princess Amelia was in the middle of her speech..." The man sheepishly
informed. Martina smacked him again.
"Do you know who i am? I am Queen Martina of Xoana, and I will do as i
please!"
"Martina, shouldn't we get to our places?" Zangulus said trying to steer her
away from the guard. On the way to their seats, Zangulus accidently stepped
on Martina's sea-foam green gown. A rip was heard as she was sent sprawling
to the ground with Zangulus at her heals. The whole room sweatdropped. After
getting up, she pummeled her husband on the shoulder, "Zangulus,
SHUDDAP...!" They were finally seated at the grand table after the several
minutes of sheer embarressment with Martina adjusting her dress and head
ornaments. She then cleared her throat.
"Princess Amelia, We are here. You may continue."
"We're done...."Amelia commented with an annoyed expression. The music began
with a bang, and most people set out to dancing. Amelia's table was sqwaking
with excitement. Filia, Sylphiel and Lina amongst with other princesses and
close friends hugged the soon-to-be bride.
"Ah! Amelia-san, we are all so happy for you! You're going to make a lovely
bride!"
"Hai! Sebastian, you're such a lucky guy!"
"Amelia-san, I can't believe you didn't tell us sooner!"
"So, i bet you must be excited!"
"Lina-san, Gourry-san, when's your turn gonna come?"
Zel sneered rudely by himself. He was dressed in the traditional black
tuxedo; his back was turned to all the commotion. His attention was suddenly
caught as he saw Amelia and Sebastian get up and walk to the dance floor.
'This is so stupid, it was a mistake coming here....no wait, what am i
saying? i came here to ask Lina and Gourry for help on finding the cure...so
lets just bear this wedding stuff and i can get on with my life....'Zel kept
telling himself. Gourry nudged Lina to look at their friend.
"Zel, so why aren't you dancing? Are you not dancing because you can't, you
don't feel like it...or because the girl you want to dance with is busy?"
Lina stated.
"What are you saying? I can't dance, need i say more?..."
"I don't know why you're doing this, you admitted to us earlier today that
you DID have feelings for HER." Gourry said.
"I didn't ADMIT it to you...i was just saying that to get you off my back.
Why don't you guys leave me alone.." With this, he got up and stubbornly
walked away. Amelia and Sebastian were dancing the waltz and everyone had
eyes on the lovely couple. Amelia's dress swirled around them as she looked
deep into his eyes. She HAD to be in love with him before the wedding,
otherwise the whole thing would be simply unjust. Marrying someone when you
didn't love them was wrong, she was betraying Sebastian...but then again, if
she broke off the engagement now, she would create unstable relations with
the Kingdom of Montague. Prince Phil was so excitied too, so he would
definitely be let down if she didn't go through with it. She continued to
stare into Sebastian's eyes and searched from something...anything that
could touch her heart. 'Nope, nothing...what am i saying? I don't even know
WHAT i'm looking for!' Amelia's eyes were glued to his, never once leaving
his gaze. There had to be something within Sebastian's soul that could reach
out and call for her attention...but then again, as good hearted as he was,
he DID say that he wouldn't rescue her from getting hurt if it meant that he
would have the risk of being killed. To her surprise, Amelia spotted Gourry
and Lina get on to the dance floor which brought an end to her frustation.
Gourry was in his white tux, and Lina was in a dark red gown.
"Aw, how cute! look at that, they look just like an angel and a devil!"
Filia commented to Sylphiel with watery, glossy eyes.
"...............mm..." Was all that Sylphiel could muster out. Meanwhile,
Zel persisted to make his way through the crowds towards the balcony where
he could get some fresh air. This was going to be a long night...everyone
seemed to be having fun, yet here he was feeling gloomy, depressed, and
self-pitying. Shouldn't he be happy for Amelia that she's found some one to
spend the rest of her life with? Some one who was human, handsome, kind and
charming all rolled up into one? As long as he survived through tonight and
tomorrow night, he could live the rest of his life with ease. It wouldn't be
so tough would it? He'd just see Amelia off in her wedding dress and quietly
disappear. Just then, a dancing couple nearby pushed him unintentionally
into another couple.
"Oh, I'm sorry Miss--" Zel began to say, but as he looked up, he saw Amelia
and Sebastian quite surprised to see him.
"Hey, you're Amelia-san's friend aren't you? Um....now what was it
again?....Z....Zel...something that started with a Z?" Sebastian asked.
"Mmm...yeah, Zelgadis." Zel said.
"You haven't been properly introduced to him, yet, have you, Sebastian?"
Amelia broke in nervously while grasping on to her fiance's arm.
"No, I don't believe we have." Sebastian replied smiling.
"Well, then, Sebastian-san, meet my ..friend, Zelgadis-san." Amelia said
smiling so widly that her face almost cracked.
"Hi there, Zelgadis-san!! Nice ta meet you!!" the Prince greeted.
"Um..yeah, hello Prince Sebastian..." Zelgadis returned, trying his best to
smile. 'Fruity Mama's boy'... He thought quietly as he tried to head to the
balcony once more.
"Now wait there, Zelgadis! I don't think that you and Amelia have had a
chance to talk yet, mainly because I've sort of been hogging her to myself
the whole time. But nows your chance! Amelia, i'm going to go talk to father
and Prince Phil. Zelgadis-san, keep her company for me." The Prince told Zel
as he began to drift into the endless ocean of people. They watched the
Prince leave as Zel snuck at peak at Amelia, but darted his eyes away once
she looked at him. Amelia could feel her face turning red with nervousness,
grasping a strand of her hair she began to wind it around her fingers. Zel
ran his hand through his hair, still not looking at her. 'Fine! If he's not
going to say anything, I WILL...'Amelia said to herself. Clearing her throat
she prepared to speak...gosh this was silly, it felt like she was some girl
talking to her crush....no wait, that's what this was....
"Uh, Hi! Zelgadis-san."
"Hi Amelia..."
"How are you?"
"Good...just great--" Zel was pushed into Amelia from behind and he looked
around uncomfortably.
"oh, gomen ne, Zel!" Lina shouted as she continued to dance with Gourry. Zel
and Amelia stood nervously in the center of the room as several people
waltzed pass them. Amelia didn't know what else to say. She had been hoping
for a chance to talk to him, but now here she was, and nothing came out. Her
heart was beating quickly, fluttering like a butterfly in her chest. She
could feel a light blush spread through her face. Something had to happen,
NOW. Why did it feel so different being with Zel right now? They were barely
touching, yet Amelia felt as though she would faint. Why couldn't it be like
before, when everything was so simple, and she could talk to him freely? Zel
felt like his heart was slamming against his throat. There had to be
something that he could bring up to talk to her about, something that would
avoid any uncomfortable subjects. He snuck a glance at her when she snuck a
glance at him. They both laughed at their stupid gestures towards one
another.
"Zelgadis-san, would you like to dance?" Amelia offered, trying to smile.
"Um...no, I can't dance."
"That's what they all say, I'm willing to teach you!"
"Really, i can't. This isn't my sort of thing."
"Will you stop being such a wuss! Look at Gourry-san, he's dancing like a
ballerina!" Zel facefaulted as Gourry was literally dancing like a ballerina
with Lina ready to smack him with her bare fist. Without another word from
Zel, Amelia grabbed his left hand and placed it in her own and took his
right hand and placed it on her hip. Zelgadis' heart was beating out of
control. He'd never done this before, and here he was taking dance lessons
from the Princess of Seyruun.
"Now, just follow my lead." Amelia said confidently. Feeling the beat,
Amelia started off moving her feet. Zel stumbled several times.
"I can't do this!" he said.
"It's okay, it's okay, you're doing fine!" Amelia assured as Zel attempted
to leave. She grasped onto his hand and pulled him back. They started again
and Zel stumbled more than ever. 'What am i doing?!?! I'm supposed to be the
heartless, magic-using swordsman...!' He pondered in horror.
"Zelgadis-san! Don't look at your feet, "Amelia suggested, then she reached
out and pulled his face up so that he was eye-leveled with her, " and you'll
do fine." Zel finally looked up to see her eyes, his legs ready to collapse
from under him. 'This is it!' Amelia said to herself as she stared deeply
into his chimera eyes, but all she could see was human eyes looking back at
her. 'This is what i was looking for within Sebastian but couldn't find.
This feeling that i actually SEE in his eyes, she continued to think. But
could it be? How can i find THIS in his eyes rather than in my own fiance's
eyes?.........'The next thing Zel knew, he was actually doing the waltz! The
couple took to the floor elegantly as they continued to dance. Not a word
passed between them, they just danced away silently. People were looking at
them strangely, why was the princess dancing with someone other than her
fiance? Zel couldn't describe what had gone over him. He was supposed to be
a chimera! And here he was dancing with the Princess of Seyruun... Wasn't he
the cold, heartless swordsman that Mr. Tarimu made him out to be so many
years before? Wasn't he the self absorbed person that turned on his friends
just because the kingdom of Xoana claimed that they had the cure to his
curse? Why, all of a sudden this? No, he can't be doing this. Here she was,
on the eve of her wedding day and HE was contemplating over her affects on
him. With out any warning, Zel stopped the dance. As cruel as it may seem,
he turned away from Amelia and ran out to the balcony. She was left watching
him leave. He finally made it out to the terrace where fresh air surrounded
him and the ocean of glittering, twinkling stars swallowed up the day.
Running his fingers through his brittle, wiry hair, Zelgadis thought of all
the mixed feelings that he had just experienced inside. As he was reflecting
upon his emotions, the crisp night silence was pierced by the sound of
slippers approaching him. Quickly, he turned around. It was Amelia. She
walked up to him in silence.
"Zelgadis-san, what's the matter?"
"..................Nothing, I just needed some fresh air." Zel leaned
against the balcony staring into the surrounding city. Amelia joined him.
"You could have atleast told me."
"....sorry....but incase you forgot, you have a fiance that you're marrying
tomorrow! What would the guests have thought had they seen us dancing?" He
replied coldly. Amelia's expression turned from sympathy to anger. She
violently shoved him.
"Zelgadis-san, they would have seen ME dancing with the friend that I
haven't seen in years! WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE THAT!?"
"Acting like what?" He asked staring at her.
"Since the minute you arrived, you've been acting all distant and weird!
It's as if you're not happy for me!?! Why are you moping around all
un-emotional and stuff!"
"IF you don't like it, fine. I told you, i came here to see Lina and Gourry,
that's all. I didn't come to see you get married off to that Prince. There's
no other reason."
"Do you even care that i'm getting married?"
".....yeah, sure I do."
"Then why don't you seem to act like it?"
"Look, I don't even know why we're having this conversation. Tomorrow,
you're getting married to Sebastian, and that'll be the end of that, my
opinion doesn't matter."
"What? Your opinion DOES matter. Because Zelgadis-san, if you don't want me
to get married.....then....then, I won't."
"Will you stop calling me that? You're not a little kid anymore, you're a
young woman now, it's a little too formal...and besides, I'll be blamed for
stopping the romantic interlude between the princess of Seyruun and the
Prince of Montague."
"What??? What romantic interlude? There are No romantic feelings at all from
me towards Sebastian. I have romantic feelings for someone else---You're
avoiding the subject!" Amelia shouted pointing at him, "I thought that the
least you could do was be happy. Even during this time of happiness, all you
ever think about is you cure. Doesn't anything else ever come first?" Zel
remained quiet as she confronted him. Then, as if powerless to explain what
she felt, Amelia's arm dropped back down to her side. A light breeze blew
and her yellow dress swirled about. Her hair was fluttering in the wind and
her eyes were filled with tears. She swiftly began to walk away, but then
she stopped. Turning around, the wind seemed to carry the tears out of her
eyes.
"Why does everything have to be so different all of a sudden?" She
questioned with a distressed look on her face. With that she began to walk
away again. Zel still had his back to her. Was she trying to drop him hints?
Was she trying to tell him something? Trying to tell him that she didn't
want to marry Sebastian? That she wasn't 100% sure that this was what she
wanted? Could it be possible that things have changed because THEY had felt
something new for each other, rather than just friendship? All of a sudden,
he could feel the tears that had been blown away from her face land on his.
Had she been crying because of a self-centered chimera who's first priority
came from finding the cure to his curse? Slowly he touched his face at where
the tears had gently landed. It almost seemed like some sort of sign. Right
before Amelia left back into the ball room, Zel brought enough courage to
say something.
"Amelia...You shouldn't marry someone if you don't love them..." Amelia
paused in her steps, held back a sob, and continued back in....

After seeing all the guests to their rooms, Amelia said goodnight to her
father and fiance. Her maids aided her up to her room staying to help get
her ready for bed. Her tiara was removed from her black hair and each strand
was combed thoroughly. When the maids all left and Amelia was finally alone
in her room, the princess collapsed on her bed in exhaustion. Tomorrow was
it. Tomorrow was the day she would be walking down the aisle in her
beautiful bridal gown with the bouquet of flowers in hand. But all Amelia
felt now was emptiness. It was said that a girl's wedding day would be one
of the best days of her life, and the situation at hand really seemed to
contradict this saying. She wanted something, anything to make her cheerful
again. Ever since the minute that Zelgadis entered the castle grounds,
everything seemed to go down hill, though, he never did anything that would
make things so difficult..maybe that's what made everything depressing. It
was because he never did actually DO anything. Re-inspecting what she was
thinking, Amelia admitted that Zelgadis was not the sort of person that
would take action unless it was for his own benefits. Shrugging off her
thoughts, the princess remembered the card she had found near the castle
gates and how it had mentioned her name in there somewhere.
"Now where did i put it??" She asked digging through her handbag. Finally,
after feeling around the bag and grasping a piece of paper, she pulled it
out. Admiring the front illustration of the two rabbits and the fine
calligraphy of "I'm Glad We're Pals," Amelia smiled a little. She remembered
the message inside with her name and flipped open the card. In black ink was
a message addressed to her.
******************
Dear Amelia,

I'm not very good with sentimental things like this, but seeing that i was
heading over to the castle, i had to bring you something. I just wanted to
say that's it been good knowing you, and like the card says, i'm glad we're
friends. Your announcement was a real shocker to me, but I am happy for you
and Sebastian. I hope you enjoy the 13 yellow tulips I bought you.

-Zelgadis Greywers
*****************
Amelia read the note in surprise. She didn't know that Zelgadis had bought
her 13 yellow tulips. 13 YELLOW TULIPS? As awkward as it was, atleast it was
something. Thinking back, she remembered the petals all over the ground and
Zel handing Gourry the bouquet that was with him. So, it was intentionally
meant for her? For the ten-thousandth time, she could feel her eyes well up
with tears. They dribbled down her cheeks and dropped onto the card,
smeering the black ink....

Not a cloud littered the skies that hovered over Seyruun the next morning...
Within Amelia's room, Lina, Filia and Sylphiel were all getting ready for
the big moment. Each were in their beautiful, expensive bridesmaids gowns.
"Eh, where's Amelia-san?" Sylphiel asked as she was putting on a silver
necklace. Filia, who was dressed and ready to go, stood holding the fussy
Val-gaarv.
"She's being fitted for her wedding dress one last time, she should be up in
a few minutes." Lina replied while expertly placing fresh flowers in her
hair. The three girls continued to share the single vanity mirror.
"Hm...I wonder if Zelgadis is going to have any last minute decisions..."
Lina said.
"Last minute decisions?" Filia asked, "What last minute decisions?"
"Whether or not to crash the wedding!" Lina informed.
"What? Zelgadis-san is going to crash the wedding? But why?" Sylphiel
questioned.
"Because, he's just had a moment of self-realization, if you know what i
mean."
"WAII!!! That's so~ beautiful!!!!!" Sylphiel and Filia screamed.
"Shhh..Keep it down!" Lina warned. The three girls continued to put on their
make up and other accessories. Suddenly, they heard Amelia coming into the
room. All three gazed in amazement.
"AMELIA-SAN! You look beautiful!" Filia and Sylphiel cried out. She was
dressed in a pure white gown with light, light blue ribbon trimmings. Her
head was covered with a white veal that had light blue flowers adorned over
the top. Her hands were gloved in white silk with lace lining and her
slippers were of light-blue chrystal. On her ears were glittery diamonds
that dangled like a stream of magic. Though she was glowing with
compliments, Amelia was inevitably down. Her face had a solemn, mute
expression. It was such a complicated moment for her. How could she go
through this wedding when she didn't even love the man that she was
marrying!?!? The simple phrase that was said to her last night remained with
her, etched boldly within her mind, "You shouldn't marry someone if you
don't love them..." So what was she supposed to do? How was she going to
resolve this...
"Amelia! It's time! Everyone is waiting in the garden!" Prince Phil said as
he peeped into his daughter's room. Amelia's eyes struck with horror. 'THIS
IS IT! No, i can't do this!'
"Go on Amelia-san! This is your moment!" Filia said trying to lift her
spirits. Lina began to try and push Amelia out the door.
"Good luck Amelia-san! don't faint!" Sylphiel encouraged.
"B--but!" Amelia protested. The three brides maids pushed from behind Amelia
who was hooked arm-in-arm with Phil. Upon reaching the entry way into the
garden, Amelia could hear the music...that music........she had to decide on
something quickly! NOW, this was it...Her heart beat like a steady drum, her
breath got short...FINALLY, she decided. 'No matter what, if no one objects
to this wedding, I WILL, and i'll cast Dark Mist and Ray Wing it out of
here!' Phil began to lead his daughter into the aisle. Amelia's trailing
viel were being carried by Sylphiel and Filia as Lina brought up the rear.
Everyone "ooed" and "awwed" at the sight of the gorgeous princess of
Seyruun. And there HE was, Sebastian was waiting patiently at the alter with
a proud smile on his face. Amelia, not wanting to ruin the moment, tried her
best to smile also, she couldn't embarress him now....but she might have to
later. Her eyes scanned the guests...there was Gourry, and Zangulus and
Martina....but where was Zelgadis? Where was he??? Was his soul intention
directed towards meeting Gourry and Lina? Had she misinterpretted his
actions? If it was, this was NOT the time to realize it. Then as if time
sped by, she was at the alter standing side-by-side Sebastian. Amelia began
to sweat uncontrolably...no...this wasn't going to work. Where was Zelgadis?
He had to be here! Many thoughts swam around her mind in less than a second.
She gripped her bouquet of flowers tightly to ease some of the fright. Every
now and then, she turned her head back and scanned to see if the chimera was
there, but still no sign of him. The ceremony had OFFICIALLY begun!
Seyruun's best white magic priest began to recite the wedding vows and
Amelia began to recite the same phrase over and over, "You shouldn't marry
someone if you don't love them..." "You shouldn't marry someone if you don't
love them..." . All that she could hear him say was blah blah blah blah
blah......her heart was beating EXTREMELY fast by now. Sebastian stared at
her worriedly, it seemed like she was chanting some sort of spell. The
Prince began to sweatdrop. The guests looked on in fright as the bride was
shaking violently and sounds of chanting were heard. The priest was almost
to the part where he asked if anyone objected, the moment was almost here!
"If there is anyone here who does not believe that Princess Amelia Wil Tesla
El De Seyruun does not belong with Prince Sebastian Dane Hans O'Montague
III, please speak now or forever hold your peace." All there was was
quietness....nothing....Amelia began to count, if by the time she counted to
three and no one said anything, she would have to do it herself.
"Come on Zel......" Lina thought quietly, "Don't let us down now..."
'1 nothing......
2......................still nothing................
3............................it looks like i'm going to have to crash on my
own wedding.....' Amelia's pulse raced....Her mouth was dry and parched.
Slowly she began to open her mouth.
"DARK MI--" Suddenly, someone appeared at the entrance into the garden.
"I DO!" All eyes turned towards the figure at the end of the aisle.
"YOSH!" Lina cried! Amelia turned around to find Zelgadis standing there
looking beyond him in disbelief. Amelia's eyes brightened up.
"I--I don't believe this!" Cried Queen Montague.
"A--Amelia, what is the meaning of this?" Prince Phil asked.
Quickly, she handed Sebastian her bouquet.
"I'm sorry Sebastian............I didn't know that this would happen....but
i can't marry you...because..i don't---"
"I know." Sebastian interrupted, "I saw you and Zelgadis-san last night, and
i don't want to come in between anything. You only seem happy with him." He
added a weak smile afterwards.
"Domo Arigatou!" Amelia cried, and she gave him a light peck on the cheek.
Grabbing her skirts, she ran down the aisle towards Zelgadis.
"Yatta Zelgadis-san! I didn't think that you were going to show" she said
blushing as she jumped into his arms.
"I didn't think I was going to either..." Zel replied slightly smiling as he
unexpectedly grabbed a hold of her waist..
"Alright Lina!!! Let's blow this joint!" Gourry shouted.
"Yeah, Gourry! Hey Zel, i hope you have some sort of "i stopped the wedding"
reception afterwards!" Lina yelled. The four began to turn tail and run as
the Montagues were more than unhappy about the situation.
"Hey, Wait up!!!" Filia cried from behind.
"Gourry-sama, wait for us too!" Sylphiel cried out. The six began to run
away from the castle faster than ever while many of the guests came chasing
after them. As they were running, Zelgadis turned to talk to Amelia.
"Amelia, what about Phil?"
"He'll get over it! He always does!"
