He’d told her off again, and was feeling horrible about it, again. He knew that he loved her, yet he couldn’t tell her the way he felt. When he had told her that he didn’t share the feelings of love that she felt for him, her azure eyes had filled up with silvery tears.
They had gotten to Seyruun easy enough, and now the ball had begun. It was a classic masqurade ball, where everyone has to wear a mask. A PLUS PLUS for himself, Zel thought. He looked around, trying to spot his friends, and quickly found Lina and Gourry pigging away at the snack bar. But he could not find the little princess of Seyruun.
The ball was in full swing, Ameria could hear the noise from her balcony. Not only could she hear it, she could see it happening too, since the ball was in the courtyard. As Ameria looked down on the crowd, thoughts ran through her head. She could jump to end it all; she could do whatever, but she didn’t want to face Zel again. She kicked her petite feet over the balcony edge; she was going to end this now.
Zel had amidiatly heard Ameria on the balcony push off, being a chimera and all. He looked up and saw that far above, a body falling. With a wind barrier, he quickly raced up to the falling Ameria.
With great skill (and a body of stone, too), Zel caught Ameria in his arms. Doing that knocked her out, since she was going down and he was going up, law of gravity. As he lifted her off into the night, people started screaming in the ball, saying that a masked savior had saved the princess of Seyruun! Lina and Gourry, by that time, had eaten themselves to the extent and were obliviously asleep on the table.
As Zel flew back up to Ameria’s bedroom balcony, he looked down at her face. She looked so inocent and true. He had made her do this, wanting to end her life like this. When he got to her room, he carried her inside and put her on her bed. He lit one white candle, and sat down to cast a recovery spell, for he thought that he had hurt her in some way when catching her.
Done with the spell, he covered her body with a blanket and walked out onto the moonlit balcony. As he looked up into the moon and stars, he heard a little click.
A small, petite hand reached for his shoulder, holding it. Ameria walked into the moonlight and looked at Zel intently. “thankyou Zel.” She quietly said. As she beamed up at him, Zel bent in and softly kissed Ameria on the lips. “you know that i was lying when i said i hated you.” He said before kissing her again.
“i love you Zel...”
“i love you too, with all my heart, Ameria of Seyruun...”
