Something lost
It was too late. Much to late. She stared blankly at the remnants.
She knew
it would one day come to this. It had been only 3 years earlier when
they
had parted. Only three years. She should have stayed with him longer.
Tell
him how she really felt. What she had always known. He finally had
his wish.
But with that wish he lost apart of himself that he had always had
as an
chimera. He gained something when he was a chimera. A hope. Something
to
live for. Now that he was no longer a chimera he no longer had a mission.
Not that it mattered any more.
He left the others. Left her. It didn't matter to him that there
was
someone who had always cared for him whether he was a chimera or a
human. He
finally found what he said he wanted. A cure. A way to be normal again.
But
normal for him wasn't a chimera or human. It was only. him. No
matter what
he thought, he truly was whole when he was a chimera. He had goals,
life,
good fortune. And he threw all that away when he found his so called
cure.
She should be happy for him. She after all supported him. Never
saying what
she knew all along was true. And while he thought that all of them
,including her, hated him for what he was. He never could realize the
truth.
Now that he was gone she might as well move on. After all she had her
life
to run.
She turned to head back home. Then stopped to look back. It was
Zel's
traveling clothes. Discarded for regular peasant attire. It was true
he had
finally found a cure. At the cost of his memories as well as power
and
magic. He lost something that day when he became human. His one true
love
Author's Notes: Well, how was it? A bit different view of mine. It's
just
one of those what ifs kind of thing.
