“Oh crap!” Gourry called from the window, “She’s gonna beat the crap out of you Lina, seriously! I mean it, she does not look like she’s joking!”
“No stink Sherlock! Did you figure that out all by yourself-“ Lina screamed, suddenly be yanked up by Amelia.
“I TOLD you no to mess with me Lina!” she chided, “But nooo, you had to test me, didn’t you?”
She set Lina’s feet back to the ground and smirked, “Now, you’re going to get it Inverse.”
“Not without a fight.”
“That’s what I meant moron.” said Amelia.
“Oh ha - Gwaa”
Amelia slammed a fist to Lina’s stomach, sending her back a couple feet. Lina coughed up some blood, and stood up straight.
“Flare arrow!”
“Typhoon Arrow!”
“Wha-“
The spells slammed together, Amelia’s ‘Typhoon Arrow’ cut straight through Lina’s flare arrow and was barely dogged.
“What kind of magic is that?”
“Mine…Celestial Blast!”
“Ra Tilt!”
Once again the two spells smashed together, but this time they were held, in a power hold, each trying to push past the other’s own strength. Amelia’s powerful blast kept pushing past the Shamanist spell. It finally slammed through and was stopped, by Amelia, to prevent it from smashing the inn. No one stood where the spell had just been launched.
“ZELGADIS!!! Do NOT interfere!!!”
No one answered…
“Come on., I know it was you, Lina doesn’t know Shamanist spells, only you and me.”
Zelgadis emerged from the shadows, setting Lina down. Amelia snarled, and dug her heels into the dirt road on which she stood. She prepared to intercept Gourry, who was behind her with the Hikari no Ken, ready to strike, which he did, and she allowed him to. The evil subsided, just as the sword came down upon her.
“What? You weren’t supposed to let that happen, you were supposed to block!”
“I knew you were behind me.”
Amelia sank to her knees, blood pouring from the massive wound on her shoulder. Gourry stood still, holding his sword, dripping with her blood. Zelgadis had felt when the evil had taken over her, but now he felt that it was gone, leaving a horribly wounded Amelia, crumpled on the ground, slowly dying. She kneeled over, breathing in and out long breaths. She held her hand over the large wound, trying to hang on to the last hope of living, trying to stop the blood loss. She tried to adjust a healing spell upon herself, but found that she couldn’t. Zelgadis ran over to her and stopped.
“Where’s Xellos?” Amelia wheezed.
“I don’t know.”
“Xellos”, she tried to yell, but couldn’t.
She was rapidly loosing her blood, and loosing her life. She slumped to the side and coughed up blood. Zelgadis cringed at the sight of such a mighty warrior, and yet such a beautiful and frail girl slowly fade away. Her eyes began to get heavy, and her grip was lost from the wound. Lina made her way to her with a small grin on her face.
“What are you smiling about Lina?” Amelia asked, sensing something briefly.
“This…”
Lina, fell to the ground, leaving Xellos standing where she had been, smirking, with an evil look in his eyes. Amelia looked up and saw him.
“What exactly is going on here?” Zelgadis said, holding a very pained and bloody Amelia.
Xellos wrapped his arms around his chest. Amelia lay lifeless in Zel’s arms, tears mixed with blood running down her face, and onto his white tunic. He rocked her from side to side, trying to administer healing, but found that his magic wouldn’t work on her. Amelia opened her eyes slightly, and smiled. Her face was stained with blood, tears, and the dust from the street, though her vision was clouded already. Zelgadis shook his head, still rocking from side to side.
“Z-Zelgadis?” she whimpered.
“Yes. It’s me.” He looked up sharply at Xellos.
“She is Occoreah’s incarnate, you know, the bringer of balance, being of light and dark.” Xellos announced.
“Yes. Was she interfering with your plans of chaos?!”
“Actually, no, but she is very dangerous, she is very easily swayed, she could go bad.”
“That…us…was it all just your plan?” Amelia cried.
“Sorry princess.”
Amelia closed her eyes, and opened them again to look at Zelgadis. He was breaking up, fighting the tears. Lina stirred slightly, but didn’t awaken.
“Zelgadis…I’m sorry, for what I said. Truly, in my heart, I have always loved you…” she said, breaking up.
“Shh, don’t speak, keep your energy.”
“The talismans gave us power over you, that’s the evil you felt Zelgadis.” He added, “I took Lina’s body when she hit the ground after the mono bolts, by the way, Zellas was controlling her.” He pointed to Amelia.
“Why isn’t my magic working?” Amelia asked.
“We still have control. Zellas took over you, and I took over Lina, the perfect, unnoticeable fighting scene. When we found that you were the bringer of balance or destruction, we saw that you couldn’t be switched to our side, because of the immense pureness you contain. We didn’t want to risk the fate of the world on chance. So we made a plan to get your trust, and take your power, resulting in destroying you, and making us more powerful. The first time we began to make a seal with you, giving control to Zellas, was when you were bitten by vampires. You have ever since been slowly, easing into our grasp more and more. And for the love, you could say that you were bewitched into a false love, to gain my trust. Now you are only a drone, one with a power that will soon belong to the mazoku race!”
“What a fate I have been dragged into, but as I told you moments ago, I won’t die without a fight, and being Occoreah’s Earth counterpart, it won’t be a quick or easy one.” Amelia said, gaining new strength.
“Don’t be so sure, we have quite a firm grasp on you and your powers. And another thing, are you really ready to kill me?”
Amelia’s eyes became heavy again; she looked over at her shoulder, at the immense gouge, caused by the Sword of light, and at the blood stained ground, upon which she felt that she would did. Then, up at Zelgadis…a true moment of understanding, the light at the end of the tunnel. She saw the pure energy she possessed, deep within her hardened heart, back to the Amelia that was crushed beneath her own heel. She saw Zelgadis, and what she liked about him so, he was a man with a good heart, and a love for her. She unearthed the old, glowing ember that had once been a raging fire. Once again, it became that, a raging fire. All the tainting caused over the years was washing away. All the anger and hate burned away with the sight, and feeling of Zelgadis holding her, as she had once wished he would so many long nights, before all the hell that erupted from Providence. Memories of being with Xellos, they were only an act, and now, without the control they held on her, she saw that it was all fake. But still, now she could feel her end edging her further to the end.
“Too much blood loss…I can’t hold out…” she murmured.
“Shh, don’t talk like that.” Zelgadis said, pulling her closer to him.
“Zel-gadis…I-I love you, and…I’m so very sorry.”
“It wasn’t your fault. Now listen, you have to fight this, come on Amelia.”
She gulped hard, trying to choke back the blood from her lips. Gourry had dropped his sword, drenched with her blood. Lina looked up, to see Amelia, in Zelgadis’ arms, covered in blood. Then she saw Xellos, with an evil smirk, eyes open.
“Damn you Xellos, Damn you!” Zelgadis cursed at him, as Amelia coughed up blood.
“What in L~SAMA’s name happened?” Asked Lina, rising and coming to Amelia’s side.
“Amelia here is close to death, and you can’t do a thing about it!” Xellos wailed with laughter.
Lina tried her magic, but once again to no avail, Amelia clenched her fists tight into Zelgadis’ white tunic. She gritted her teeth through the blood, and took a deep breath. Her hands began to tremble, and shake, her eyes shot open and rolled back. Everyone was totally astounded by what was happening; even Xellos didn’t know what was going on. She let out a yell, pleading for the pain to go away. Zelgadis held her closer. He felt something warm and pulsing violently against his chest, he pulled Amelia back, there was a vertical tear on her chest, pulsing with raw energy. He gasped, Amelia yelped as ‘ropes’ of that energy sprang from the tear and wrapped around her. They tightened around her wrists, ankles, legs, arms, torso, neck, and plastered to her face. They began to glow with the violent energy and flung Zelgadis back, away from her. Her body twitched as the power raged through her body, seeping through her veins, filling her with wild anger, rage, peace, power, and any emotion thinkable by any being in the universe. She let out a scream as the fuming energy covered her whole body. The ropes around her face pumped the power into her head. Blood streamed down the side of her face, mixing with the dust stirred up by the rippling energy, swirling around her limp body.
“AMELIA!!!” Zelgadis screamed out, as Amelia’s eyes glowed bright red.
Her body was enveloped by the energy, and took over everything, her eyes were glowing ruby red, rivaling that of Shabranigdo’s. The ropes finished off the last bit of energy, into her toned body. The miasma of raw magical power swirled into a mass of red, green, and blue flames, like the ones from her dream, minutes ago. They swirled all around, lifting her up. Amelia’s eyes closed, the flames now filling her with even more raw energy. It swirled around her like a raging bonfire of pure cosmic power. This time, it was not rough raging power, but gentile, wise, knowledge. After a few moments she was slowly descending back down to the dusty street, then taken once again, into Zelgadis’ arms. She slowly took a sigh, lifted her head to loom at Zelgadis, and went unconscious.
“Amelia, no” Zelgadis sobbed into her shoulder.
“What in Kami-Sama’s name just happened here?!” Lina, and Xellos both gasped.
“Oh no, did she just…SNAP! ZELLAS!!!!” Xellos cried.
Amelia smiled, though being unconscious, “Calling for your mommy, Metallium?”
Amelia opened her eyes; they were blue, mixed with gold. Xellos gasped, and cursed. Amelia giggled, and began to stand up. Zelgadis was about to say something, but she stopped him with her finger to his lips,
“Don’t worry, I’m fine. Now, let me teach this mazoku a lesson he’ll never forget.” Said Amelia, reassuring him with a wink.
She stood up, as did Zelgadis who stepped back to where Gourry was crouching next to Lina. Amelia sauntered up to Xellos and smiled just enough for him to get a look at her fangs.
“So how does a Master Lord look to a general to Beastmaster Zellas?” she asked, Xellos gulped hard.
“Are you still Amelia?” asked Lina.
“Yes, only filled with Occoreah’s power, I am her, reborn. I am still the same person you know, but just Occoreah’s counterpart.” (Like the reincarnated Dhali Lhamas) “I am her, she lives in me, but I am still the same old Amelia, understand?”
Lina, nodded, “Like the opposite of what happened to me when I was possessed by L~SAMA, she took over, but you are only the incarnated version of Occoreah.”
“Yes, she died, and was reincarnated into me, or at least her powers were. Now are we all in understanding?”
Everyone nodded, except Xellos who attempted to transport to Zellas. Amelia turned around swiftly and caught him by the collar, she pulled him up close to her face and thundered, like the heavens during a thunderstorm, “BRING ZELLAS TO ME!”
Xellos couldn’t do a thing, too terrified to move. Zellas appeared behind them. Amelia threw Xellos to the side and wiped a bit of excess blood from the side of her face, the wound on her shoulder slowly healed, after she had noticed that it was still there. The bloodstain remained on the black catsuit she had been wearing during the fight. She looked over her body and around the area. Her blood was almost everywhere. With the snap of her fingers the catsuit was replaced with a white catsuit, again made with cloth. Covered with a flowing cape, and gaudy shoulder guards, along with little adornments like chains, and belts hanging from her waist. High, white boots, with bands at the tops, matching the catsuit’s style of big buckles and “Avenger” type style.
“Hello, Zellas.”
“What happened, why didn’t you kill her?!”
“I-I” Xellos stammered.
“Hmmph, it doesn’t matter now, you will die.”
Amelia began to summon a large amount of energy, swirling with a great miasma of power. She placed a spell over the area, both sealing it from harm, and preventing Zellas from transporting away.
“Deep within the haze of time, the greatness of our power and beauty shines through with our strength.”
“What in the-“ Zellas stuttered, now showing great fear.
“Let all who stand in our path be subject to the burning flame of reality, that mere mortals or even dark lords cannot prevent our reign of grace!”
“OH NO!”
“Mighty like a golden blade that cuts down even the gods, deeper than the crimson of blood that flows. Greater and brighter than any lighthouse beacon which shines through the deep, heavy fog. To guide the way…Through the mists and the haze, buried in time and space, revered for our might, take control with our wisdom, take wing on the winds of fantasy. Take the strength we possess, and the mighty wrath we put forth, for I am you, and we are one, the almighty grace of all gods! The bringer of peace, and messenger of life or death, born to bring the balance to all worlds. The sun, the moon, the stars, all celestial things revolve around you and I, we are the Lord of all, with a name that every child knows, and fears, together we are The Almighty Lord of the Celestial World, OCCOREAH!”
“Oh my lord…”
“CELESTIAL BLAST!!!”
The heavens erupted from her hands at warp speed, sending off a whirlwind of energy in it’s path. Zellas tried to transport...no use. The beam sped up even more and smashed into her, obliterating her, along with Xellos, back into the netherworld. Then, there was the aftershock explosion, it erupted and would have blown away the entire continent if it wasn’t for the shield Amelia had created to prevent it from happening. She fell to her knees, gracefully and kneeled over, into the moist ground. Everyone ran over to her and checked to make sure she hadn’t overexerted herself. She hadn’t and made a victory sign.
“Man, what a day!”
The sun was still hanging in the sky as the four gathered themselves up and headed back to the inn. Lina and Gourry went on in, while Zelgadis and Amelia stopped at the doors.
“Amelia…”
“Zelgadis…”
They each shushed each other with a kiss, ending the day’s events with a moment of peace. After they broke the kiss, Amelia smiled and took Zelgadis’ hand and went in, to talk about what had happened, and what to do next. Lina and Gourry devoured some spiced chicken, Zelgadis had his coffee, and Amelia had her friends back for good.
