CAST
This is only the main characters as the characters mentioned in the Manga is of unimaginable numbers.
Name Description
Yakumo Fuuji
The Wu of Parvati/Pai, this poor guy has no choice but to accompany Pai on the never ending quest for humanity. Yakumo starts off pretty helpless at the beginning when he had to fend off creatures already preying on his immortality and Pai, having had his head blown off and body parts severed (yep, it's gory). However, in the space of the two years after that he (fortunately) acquired some martial arts and some "magic" called Shuumashutsu, which involves calling up certain "monsters" (Shuuma) to his service which he had defeated before. You have to see it to understand it (sort of). Though Parvati is unimpressed with Yakumo's performance as her bodyguard, he eventually does prove himself to be a very good Wu though later in the Manga (much later).

Pai
Sweet, Cute Little Airhead Pai from Tibet is really what made Yakumo look twice at her, and in doing so spends the latter half of his time taking care of and protecting her. Pai seems only to have the intellectual capabilities of a little girl; she is sweet, kind, innocent and unworldly, yet she too is able to call up certain monsters to her aid, not because she had defeated them but more because they were touched by her compassion (somehow). It was her kind nature and innocence which turned many enemies into friends throughout the course of their journey.

Hayashibara Megumi
Parvati IV
Parvati is the fourth of 4 generations of Triclops which were born in a certain year, thus making them the most powerful of all the Triclops. Being extremely arrogant and cruel, she is the exact opposite of her other personality, Pai. Parvati was extremely unimpressed by Yakumo as her Wu and had told him to the face that she really preferred someone else a couple of times. But when Yakumo manages to prove that he wasn't the no-hoper she thought he was, she soon began to warm to him.
Voice by Hayashibara Megumi
Li Rin Rin
The editor and manager of the Yougekisha magazine and company, which is a ghost-busting squad who gets paid to cleanse the streets from all manners of evils. Rin Rin originally intended to exploit Yakumo's and Pai's abilities, but she eventually aided Pai and Yakumo in their quest as Yakumo's boss and providing a HQ from which he can work from. She never misses an opportunity to wring every cent from some unfortunate person who stumbles across their paths, though.
Voice by
Orikasa Ai
Huong Song Li (Shiun Kai)
She is actually a "low status" demon which had assumed the shape and identity of a dead business woman, and had intended to make herself Parvati's Wu from the very beginning. Being filthy rich, she becomes the financial supporter of the Yougekisha, and for the five years Pai and Yakumo had been with her she had been waiting for a chance. Her plan is foiled when Yakumo finds out, but she was deeply touched when he spared her life, and actually dies saving Yakumo from Benares.
Voice by Fujita Toshiko
Mama
The gender of Mama is unknown, but he is the owner of the gay bar Yakumo works at called the "Culture Shock", so I think it is safe to say that it is a he (his appearance can be either). When Shiun Kai dies, he undertakes the position of Yougekisha's financial supporter, and happens to be the only person who does not behold Yakumo's status in awe. Being never alarmed at anything, he is the one who wakes Yakumo up to reality and that being an immortal is not as fun as he first thought it was.
Voice by Kishino Yukimasa
Meishing
The younger sister of Steve Ron and a superb martial artist, who confronted and bashed up Yakumo outside the Yougekisha office when her brother was kidnapped (by someone else). She falls in love with Yakumo, but ended up studying as an exchange student in England when it became obvious Yakumo was only interested in Pai.
Voice by
Tanaka Mayumi
Steve Ron Steve is the older brother of Meishing and a reknown Hong Kong exorcist; it was he who had gotten hold of the ningen no zou first which got him kidnapped. After being rescued by Yakumo and Pai, he came to work at the Yougekisha and ended up being partners with Ri Rin Rin.

Kaiyanwan (Shiva)
The Kaiyanwan is the ruthless tyrant of the Triclops, and was known to have extremely long life as they suck the energy from other powerful Triclops when their powers weaken. Shiva is the second Kaiyanwan, and was originally a benevolent and even-tempered Triclop (it's hard to imagine). He brought up all the Parvatis, including Parvati IV (Pai) and was consequently engaged to Parvati IV (somehow), but when he became Kaiyanwan II, Parvati and the remaining Triclops used all of their power to bind him to a magical stone, called the Seimaseki. Since then, 300 years had passed and the seal had weakened, and soon Shiva will be able to terrorize the world again.
Benares Benares
Benares is Shiva's Wu, and his true form is the incredibly evil Ryuushin (the dragon god) who acquired his human shape by hanging around the Seichi (the home of the Triclops) and eating Triclops. He became known as a great sorcerer, and had a pupil called Madourai, who turned against him for personal reasons and binded him to the earth. Along came Kaiyanwan II Shiva, undid the seal and turned Benares into his Wu. For the past 300 years Shiva was sealed, he had protected the Seimaseki and commanded a big following of evil creatures who believes their time will come when Shiva resurrects. Benares' powers, as one can imagine, is way beyond Yakumo's, yet he still regarded Yakumo as his greatest enemy.
Voice by
Ohtsuka Akio
Ayanokouji Youko (Hoa Shia) Youko is a naga (a snake), created by Benares to seal Parvati/Pai's consciousness and overtake Pai's body so Parvati can be protected from other evil creatures. Benares' plan is foiled when Youko loses all her memory in the process, even when she is expelled from Pai's body and goes on with life the way she had lived it when she was in Pai's body. She only regains her memory when one of Benares' servants tried to use her to attack Yakumo (and failed), and from then on fights on Yakumo's side as the water-using half-snake Hoa Shia.
Guptar Guptar is a female fighter from the Hyoumas, a race of Tibetans who has the ability to merge with animals and acquire their abilities. The Hyoumas' power gives them one big problem; the baby of a pregnant woman will merge with the mother before birth, which causes massive brain damage as the Hyoumas can't merge with humans. Their only solution was to become the Wu of the Triclops (with whom they had formed a pact with), but when Benares got rid of all the Triclops 300 years ago the Hyoumas began to die out. Pregnant herself, Guptar had attempted to kidnap Pai and force her to somehow save their tribe from extinction. Guptar helps Pai and Yakumo in their quest when they defeated Galga.
Galga The prince of the Hyoumas and having great ambitions, he had intended to make himself Wu when Pai was captured. He had an advisor, Kinkara, who was actually Benares when Galga found him (or bits of him) after a fight with Parvati who blew him to pieces. Galga was destroyed by Parvati, but he was later restored and became the servant of Benares.
Hazrat Haan A merchant from Pakistan dealing in all sorts of magical items who had sold Yakumo two shuuma provided that he introduces a Japanese girl to him, who he believes are the most attractive women in the world. Yakumo forgets all about this, so Haan came looking for him, and instead falls in love with Ayanokouji Youko.
Kaiyanwan I Kaiyanwan I is the first Kaiyanwan, who had become ugly and deformed from absorbing Triclop power to prolong his life and energy. He usually absorbs the power of Parvatis as they are the most powerful, and generations of them had been brought up by Shiva and given to Kaiyanwan I. He became human when NinkaNoJuutsu (the magic by which Triclops become human) spun out of control, ending up transferring all his power to Shiva.
Ganesha Ganesha is the Wu of Kaiyanwan I, and lost his status as Wu when Kaiyanwan became human.
Parvati III Parvati III is the mother of Pai/Parvati IV, and in turn had a multiple personality. She was brought up by Shiva and was to be offered to Kaiyanwan I when he needed power, but as the gentle protectress of the weak and the disadvantaged in the Triclop's hierarchy, everyone tried to help her escape. She was captured despite their efforts, and became human in the NinkaNoJuutsu ceremony.
Madourai (El) The Wu of Parvati III, she gatecrashed the NinkaNoJuutsu ceremony to save her master but ended up causing Shiva to become Kaiyanwan II. She has a father/daughter relationship with Connery when he was Benares' pupil and fell in love with Benares, but when Connery sealed Benares out of jealousy of his daughter's affections, she ran off crying to the Seichi and became a Wu. Her real name being El, she adopted the name Madourai and later told Shiva where Benares was sealed.
Sean Connery (Madourai) Yes, the movie star. No, otherwise known as Madourai, he is the pupil of Benares before he sealed his teacher away out of jealousy. However, the spell almost shattered his body, and after the incident he lost all interest in magic and went to live in England as a rich black market broker. He had a succession of daughters (some adopted) since then, the current one being Meishing's friend Megan, who first led Yakumo to him. He becomes Yakumo's teacher, leaving all his magical powers to him when he was killed by Galga, including the spell used to bind Benares.
Ushas This is it. The third Triclop needed for Pai to become human by NinkaNoJuutsu. Ushas and her Wu, Amara, was sucked out to space by years ago, but they survived with Ushas' magic. Ushas, being lonely, set about creating a civilisation of women by reanimating the corpses which occasionally float along. As she continued to make new citizens of Amara with Raatori (the first person she created), an accident with a failed experiment caused a deep scar to be etched on her beautiful face, and she had hated and killed all the failed experiments in Amara ever since. When the citizens of Amara rebelled against her for her cruelty, she disappeared into Naraka (the base of Amara) and no one had seen her since then. When she is rediscovered by Yakumo, she not only declines to help him but locks him up. We can only assume Yakumo is hopeless at convincing people.
Amara Amara is the Wu of Ushas; in order to keep his master alive in space, he (this is gross) split up his body and used his insides as a ball to enclose Ushas so that she may live. He lost all his intelligence and "human nature" in the process, and now exists as one big ball of flesh in space where the citizens of Amara lives in. Amara's power is unimaginable; he creates a (lots of, actually) magical guardian which has boundless energy and gave Yakumo (and everyone with him) an unbearably hard time when they got into Naraka. He also has the ability to capture Shuuma and use them against their master.
Raatori Her crime was upsetting Ushas, and her punishment was to be sealed in Naraka until someone comes to rescue her. Raatori was the first being Ushas created, and protected the failed experiments from Amara and Ushas with her power when Amara unleashed his power for harming his master. She also led the rebellion against Ushas, in which Ushas then disappeared and Raatori was captured and sealed away by Amara. The citizens of Amara plots night and day to save Raatori, and finally got their chance when Yakumo arrives. So where did Raatori come from if she wasn't reanimated from a corpse? She is a clone of Ushas and consequently also a Triclop.
