Kenichi Sonoda's popular manga has finally become an anime, and in a way, we finally have a sequel to the classic "Riding Bean"!
I have finally finished the 3rd and final volume, and am pleased to tell you that the anime, in every way, lives up to Sonoda's manga. What is interesting is that the anime doesn't have an origin episode, like many manga turned anime's would. The story picks up like it is just another day in the lifes of our hero's; Rally Vincent and Minnie May!
This anime is a non-stop, thrill ride every step of the way! From the opening gernade, to the last clip of bullets fired, the action never lets up!
What has always appealed to me about the Gunsmith Cats story is just how real the story can be. Kenichi Sonoda has made efforts to have his version of Chicago be as real as the true Chicago. Another plus is the level of realness in the guns and bomb fights. Sure, some of those awesome gun battles border on unrealistic, but they manage to stay believable and are always impressive!
As for character development, this anime introduced many new fascinating characters, all of which are welcome editions to the gunsmith cats universe. I would like to see some of these characters, especially Bill Collins, make their way to the manga.
Having seen both, I can also safely say that both the subtitled and dubbed versions of this anime are impressive. A.D.Vision has pulled off another great job!
All in all, Gunsmith Cats was an great anime to watch, and I reckomend it to anyone, particullary if you are tired of the bizaar worlds of anime, but still want a nonstop action story.
