Leos are generous, creative, enthusiastic, faithful and loving people. Majestic and proud, they seem to have a larger-than-life personality that needs to show through. They want to be in charge, and use their energy to greet opportunities with enthusiasm. Leos have strong desires, and once they set their minds to something, they remain determined to achieve their goal. Leos don't like changing their normal course, and occasionally keep going with an idea even if it's D.O.A. They have strong opinions, which they almost always voice openly. Even when Leos don't know what they're talking about, they sound like they do. Leos feel the need to demand respect from everyone, and they can't stand it when they're laughed at or when their pride is hurt. They tend to have an overly-inflated self-image, believing that they are the most important people in the world. Unfortunately, this makes Leos suckers for flattery. They can easily be conned by empty compliments. Likewise, when they are being ignored, Leos become extremely defensive. Leos have the potential to be great leaders and heroes, due to their courageousness, but if they let their stubborness take over, there's no way anyone will follow a Leo as a leader. Leos also tend to be self-absorbed, and often don't let others get a word in edgewise, which tends to overwhelm their friends. But, if a Leo can tone down their behavior, they often gain support from everyone. Leos also have a reputation for being extravagant, and they don't enjoy paying attention to detail, which leads to spending much more than they have. They find it difficult to control their money-spending habits, but if they keep up their work rigorously and energetically, they often manage to afford their lifestyle.

Because Leos are so energetic and ambitious, they have a strong urge to do something that gains a lot of recognition. Leos tend to make good actors/actresses because of their outgoing spirit, and because they are shameless self-promotionists, they make good salespeople as well. They do well in executive positions, and also have a slight flair for art, making them good designers. They work well with Aries, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius, sometimes other Leos, and occasionally with Capricorn, Virgo and Gemini. They don't work well with Pisces, Taurus, Cancer, and Scorpio due to the fact that these signs aren't open enough for Leo to relate to.

Leos also take awhile to dive into friendships. They feel a bit superior to others, so when they choose their friends, they choose someone who they think is worthy. They have lots of suggestions for having fun, and just like to hang out and have a good time. They don't worry about being indulgent and encourage their friends to be the same (you only live once, you know.. unless you're reincarnated as a gerbil). They're not very dependable, but they are very loyal, and are willing to put themselves out on a limb in order to help someone out. They feel a strong need for help in a crisis, but their pride often gets in the way. They tend to make better friendships with Sagittarians, Librans, Ariens, Geminians, and other Leos, due to the fact that they tend to get along with Air and Fire signs that can keep up with their physical and mental quickness. They don't get along as well with Aquarians, Capricorns, Pisceans, Taureans, Cancers, Virgoans and Scorpios due to the fact that these signs tend to probe into emotions farther than a Leo would like to share them, and also because they tend to be more grounded and mature than Leos and other Air/Fire signs.

The Leo's sensitive body area consists of the heart, the spine, and the back. Leos tend to like meat, rice, honey, and vegetables with high iron contents. Their flowers are sunflowers, marigolds, celandine and passion flower. The Leo is frequently associated with big game, mainly large cats.
