The Dark Kingdom, a legion of creatures from the planet of Zlorbatt! Not really, I don't know where all of them come from. Anyway, the Dark Kingdom consists of six main beings: Queen Metalia, Queen Beryl, Kunzite, Zoicite, Nephrite, and Jadeite. Here come their summaries:
Jadeite
Jadeite is arguably the most efficient and has the most interesting energy-gathering schemes of all the generals. I think it's hilarious how no one can tell who the mysterious Jed is who keeps turning up in places where people are always seemingly energy deprived. He used to be Rei's lover on the moon (oooh.....), and one of the protectors of Prince Endymion. He's also pretty clever, and if Beryl weren't so impatient, she coulda gotten a decent amount of info. from him and not had to worry 'bout the senshi in the future. Instead, after being run down by a plane (not really, but he came close), Beryl put him on ice.
Nephrite
Nephrite is an interesting general who seems to think the stars govern everything. He's also the only general to become "good" so to speak. On earth, he manages to fall in love with Naru when he's looking for Sailor Moon's true identity. He gets killed by Zoicite's minions later on in the story, and then there's this scene with him and Naru at the end that's very worthy of tears.
Zoicite
Zoicite is a very feminine guy. DiC kinda changed his sex coz, well, I guess they thought he just looked toooo much like the real Sailor Moon. He seemed to be very... friendly with Kunzite. Anyway, Zoicite's main job was to gather the nijzuishou so that the Negaverse would have ultimate power. He did pretty well too, if it weren't for those pesky Sailor Senshi. Anyway, Sailor Moon got a crystal, Tuxedo Kamen had two crystals I think, and Zoicite had the other four. Zoicite also had this arch-enemy thing going with Tuxedo Kamen, and tried to kill him three times after Beryl had specifically told him not to. And, when Sailor Moon transformed into the Moon Princess and acquired the ginzuishou, well, that kinda decided it for Beryl. She put him on ice for directly disobeying her orders.
Kunzite
Kunzite is Zoicite's teacher and the top general in Beryl's clan of misfits. Of course, there are several times when he seems like so much more to Zoicite, but I don't have any hard core facts to back that up. Anyway, Kunzite did the least of the four generals. All I ever saw him do was try to kill the senshi (twice) and argue with Tuxedo Kamen. He was s'posed to get the ginzuishou from Sailor Moon, but his ideas for getting it were so lame, I guess he was just a figure who was there. He also did this whacked out "I'm not going to button the top button of my tunic" thing that must have been done to make him look macho or something. I think he looked like an idiot who was too stupid to remember how to get dressed. I think there were several times when Beryl shoulda put him on ice, but noooooo, she decided to be patient with him (of all people) ~ the lazy, stupid, witless general in her army. Well, it was her funeral (literally). Yeah, hmm... anyway, no more caffeine for me today..... Kunzite died when Sailor Moon deflected his boomerang of evil energy with her "wand" and sent it back to him (to put it plainly). Stupid guy didn't expect it and was killed by his own attack.
Queen Beryl
Ah, fearless leader's here, ne? Okay, anyway, back on Earth, Queen Beryl was the head of the army of Negaversians come to take over the Earth. She did away with whoever she wanted to, and did most of the bossing around. Her part in the love triangle was that she had a crush on Prince Endymion. She kidnapped him, brainwashed him, and set him against his true love, Sailor Moon. This warped sense of love really annoyed me, I figure she didn't really love him, but she wanted to torture the Moon Princess, so she took away the one thing that she cared about more than anything (my own opinion, don't pay any attention to it).
Beryl also had this really short temper that always seemed to trip her up. I mean, Jadeite says, "But I know the identities of the Sailor Senshi, my queen", and what did she do? She "iced" him. She didn't wait and find out what information he had first and then ice him like any decent super-villain, she killed him first. Bad fighting tactic. So, inevitably, she was killed by Queen Metalia, the ruler of the Negaverse. Metalia sucked up Beryl's energy so that she could fight Sailor Moon.
Queen Metalia
Metalia was the ruler of the Negaverse. She was most often seen in the end of Sailormoon when Beryl kept asking her for energy to mind wipe Mamoru. Metalia was the reddish, thick looking liquidy stuff (very much like blood) which I guess was s'posed to show the sound waves of her voice when she spoke. In the dub she was called "Oh great power of the Negaverse." She was the one who fought Usagi in the great battle at the end of the first series. She looked like Beryl because she sucked up all of Beryl's energy, and assumed her form since ~now I'm assuming~ she didn't have a solid form of her own (think entity with no physical form). She was killed by the Usagi, who had the help of the other Sailor Senshi and the ginzuishou.
