Okay, well, the Outer Senshi are very cool characters in the anime. All of them made their debut appearances in Sailormoon S with the exception of Sailor Pluto, who was first introduced in Sailormoon R. Below, in the following order you'll find Sailor Pluto, Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Saturn.
Sailor Pluto is considered to be the mysterious senshi of the entire story. If you read the manga it's different, but since this is an anime page, we'll pretend that she's mysterious. She didn't really get a lot of publicity in the anime, but is a highly developed character. So, in short, it's more informative to read the manga.
Okay, anyway, Sailor Pluto is kinda quiet, not really the kind of person who wants to jump in and help. This isn't coz she's weak or anything, she has to guard the Gates of Time, and to do that she doesn't want to change anything in the past that'll upset the future. She does have to come back several times and help save the past for the future. In Sailormoon R she helps Chibi-Usa, in Sailormoon S she helps Sailors
Neptune and Uranus find the talisman and the Messiah, and in Sailormoon Sailor Stars she fights against Galaxia in the last battle. Sailor Pluto is very kind although she comes off as cold and stand-offish.
She and Chibi-Usa have a very close relationship, and she's been officially dubbed "Pu" by Chibi-Usa. Sailor Pluto is also in possession of the third talisman, the Garnet Orb. If you want to know more about the three talisman, just hit the link ^_^.
There are lots of tiny interesting facts about Sailor Pluto, but the only one that pertains to the love triangle saga (that I'm so obsessed with) is the fact that she has a crush on King Endymion. But, she's very loyal to her King and Queen, so she contents herself with taking care of their child, Chibi-Usa.
Sailor Uranus/Ten'ou Haruka
Haruka's one of my favorite outers ^_^. She's a very commanding figure and very strong (in several respects). She's very determined to get what she wants, and on a couple occasions goes about doing that in a way that puts others in danger. She is however, very protective of Michiru and Usagi. She'll risk anything to accomplish her mission, but she doesn't want Michiru getting hurt, and she especially doesn't want Usagi getting hurt, since Usagi is the princess. Anyway, Haruka has a passion for racing, cars and on foot, and she's good at both of them. She's probably the fastest senshi, which is helpful when running from evil nega-type monsters. Oh, a fact you'll find any place that posts info. on the outers, Haruka possesses the first talisman, the Space Sword.
Haruka also has very strong powers. Due to the fact that she was one of the protectors of outer planets, and farther away from the moon, she needed stronger powers. Anyway, you should see a video of her "World Shaking," it's excellent ~ fast but excellent. In the words of my twin, "She's butch!"
As far as love triangles go I'm pretty sure Haruka's only interest is in Michiru. She loves to pretend to be a guy and flirt with girls, but Michiru is her one and only. Of course, I can't really say that with getting a ton of "Aren't they lesbians?" letters, so I'll just say they're relationship is hinted at being a li'l more than mere friendship.
Sailor Neptune/Kaiou Michiru
Michiru! Senshi of the Sea! Okay, Michiru is considered to be the most "elegant senshi." Plain and simple, ne? Anyway, she's very artistic. She's got a gift for music and painting, which wins her a lot of admiration from others as well as everything else she does. She often hangs out with Haruka, and is generally a very compassionate person. She cares a lot about Haruka and is willing to abandon anything she's fighting for if Haruka will be in danger. Michiru can, however be *very* harsh with people if she thinks they're selling themselves short.
As far as powers go Michiru has a really cool henshin sequence and very cool powers. They deal with water (well, she is the senshi from the planet who's patron god was the god of the sea), and they're very powerful attacks. Her first attack's name says it all, "Deep Submerge". Now, imagine, what happens when you're hit with a tidal wave? Ouch.
Okay, well, Michiru is very faithful to Haruka. Although they never come out and say it, there are a lot of things that *imply* that they're a couple. Which doesn't necessarily mean they are, but it's not worth obsessing about anyway. They're close.
Sailor Saturn/Tomoe Hotaru
Okay, well, Hotaru leads a rather difficult life. It's kinda complicated. See, when she was little she was killed in a lab accident. Her father, the scientist who was conducting the experiments was devastated and heart-broken. Magically, this lady (Mistress 9) appeared and told Professor Tomoe (Hotaru's dad) that she would bring Hotaru to life if he let her master (Pharaoh 90) live in his body. She didn't tell him, however, that she planned to take over Hotaru's body. Anyway, Hotaru grew up, and she had a lot of problems with physical exertion and got tired very easily. She had this wicked cool ability to heal people by touch, except this took a toll on her own health. Eventually, she became good friends with Chibi-Usa and they began to hang around with each other as often as they could. Near the end of Sailormoon S, Hotaru was found to be the Messiah. But, for Mistress 9 to accomplish her mission of freeing Pharaoh 90, she had to get rid of the Messiah. Then there's a big thing with the Senshi and Usagi and Hotaru trying to free herself of the evil within. In the end she succeeds and turns into Sailor Saturn, the senshi who possesses the power to destroy the universe on command.
Hotaru's attacks are really cool but rarely used. Since she is the senshi of destruction she doesn't often use her powers unless they're really needed. After becoming a senshi she reverts to being a small baby again, and Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna-san take care of her. Professor Tomoe becomes good again and in Sailor Stars she grows up very quickly to her original age and becomes Sailor Saturn again in time for the battle against Galaxia.
Basically, when the three talisman are brought together they form the Holy Grail.
And, to stop the destruction of the world the three outer senshi (mainly Haruka and Michiru) have to find the person who can wield the Holy Grail, the Messiah. And of course, only the Messiah can save the world from destruction (with the help of the Holy Grail).
The 3 talisman are found in the heart crystals of people with pure hearts. Strangely enough, these people are Sailor Uranus (Space Sword), Sailor Neptune (Aqua Mirror), and Sailor Pluto (Garnet Orb). Supposedly you die when your heart crystal is extracted, and if you have a talisman you're bound to die since it can't be taken out of the heart crystal. But, Sailor Moon manages to help out with this through Sailor Pluto's instruction. The talisman are separated from the heart crystal, and the heart crystal
is returned to its keeper. It's kinda complicated, and it'd probably be easier to read Hitoshi Doi's show summaries for the third season of SM (Sailormoon Super) or to watch the subs to understand how it works.
