I am a city grown Tampubolon, but believe me I know my roots up to Si Raja Batak. And I never lost interest in my Batak heritage. I think it's a good idea to build a Batak Website, linked also to websites developed for Marga, Ompu or even Individuals. The Bataks have personalities not easily understood by others. And the culture itself is rather difficult to comprehend, unless you spend a lot of time learning and get personally involved in Dalihan Natolu occasions. But that is a luxury many city dwellers can not afford. I also think many people of other origins wish to know more, on how the Bataks see themselves. What they all need is simple concept explanations, written in popular language, and presented in an easily navigated website. Please let me know how I can assist. |
