NEPHRITE

Nephrite was the second general commissioned by Queen Beryl. He replaced Jadeite. He was tasked to get even more human energy.

Nephrite was more cunning and meticulous than his predecessor. His moves were strategic and well-planned. He used astrology, consulting the stars before choosing his victims. He discovered his enemies' weaknesses through this method as well. Nephrite would pose as a human, under the alias "Sanjouin Masato". As Sanjouin, Nephrite was able to acquire even more information. He also disguised himself as Tuxedo Mask on some occasions.

Nephrite is so powerful that he almost succeeded in killing Sailor Moon, and even Zoisite did not want to have a one on one confrontation with him. Nephrite also discovered Sailor Moon's secret identity.

Nephrite's downfall resulted from Zoisite's plotting and falling in love with one of his human victims, Naru Osaka. Nephrite redeemed himself by sacrificing his life to protect Naru from the Dark Kingdom's minions. He assured Sailor Moon that her secret would be safe with his dying breath.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS Nephrite to Naru "I'm sorry... I won't be able to eat chocolate parfait with you... Please forgive me... I'm very thankful to have met you..."
