Are you going this year?
" I wont be going to Glastonbury sadly, becayse we'll still be
on tour in America, but I wish I was going. I always really enjoy
it. I used to hate going to festivals but I love them now. It appeals
to me now more than ever, just sitting in a tent."
Fantasy line-up?
"Well, you've got to have "Scratch Lee" Lee Perry (er, he means Lee "Scratch"
Perry, presumable - Raggae Loving Ed). I saw him at the Tibet gig and I'm
convinced he's a must for all outdoor things. He just spreads good vibes. And
I'd like to see Fugazi, and I've been really getting into The Silver Apples.
They made these two LPs in '68/'69 electronic Can-type stuff, only five years
earlier and American. And I'd love to see early Wire. Oh, and Blur would love to
play, obviously."
Ultimate Glastonbury experience?
"My fantasy Glastonbury would be to be 18 again and to go
with a girl that I've just met and that I was really, really into.
Either that or go with my mates and meet a girl there. I certainly
wouldn't want to go with any famous people. I'd just go and take loads
of drugs and watch all my favorite bands. I'd drink smoke spliff,
drop an E and watch The Silver Apples. Er, this is the 18-year old
Damon, not me now talking, ofcourse."
