*Scene opens with Momiji looking at a sign*

Sign: Annan School Festival - Post festival: Fire Cheek Dance at 8:00 PM

Ryoko (from episode 11 of the series): Wow!

Sign: Surrounding the fire in the schoolyard, We will have a Cheek Dance, Must be a couple to join, Committee of the School Festival

*Camera zooms in on the "must be a couple to join" part*

*Scene transitions to shots of the school festival from booths to the school’s haunted house to Sakura singing*

Sakura: Hi everybody! Dance! (note: there’s a sign behind Sakura that says, "Sakura Yamazaki on Stage!")

*Scene switches to Kusanagi sitting in a tree looking bored*

Momiji: *Throws a paper ball at Kusanagi*

Kusanagi: Huh?

Momiji: Kusanagi-san! I want to go!

*Kusanagi reads what Momiji threw at him.*

Flyer: Post Festival Night - Cheek Dance time at the fire at 8:00 PM

Momiji: I, um, er, eh...

*Momiji looks at the wood being set up for the fire and daydreams her and Kusanagi dancing*

Momiji - *Giggle* Ah, Kusanagi-san!

Flyer: Cheek Dance

Kusanagi: Cheek Dance?!

Flyer: Dance

Kusanagi: Da-da, Dan-dadada-Dance?!

*Kusanagi runs away*

Momiji: Ah, hey!

*Kusanagi keeps running*

Momiji - *whining* Kusanagi-san...

*Scene change to Momiji stabbing an apple with the words, "Kusanagi is an idiot," written on it*

Momiji: Idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot.

*Shot to Ryoko being asked out*

Ryoko: *Blushing* I dunno.

*Sakura walks past Ryoko with nearly two-thirds of the school’s male population following behind her, drooling*

Momiji - *Hard sigh* Mamoru Kusanagi is an idiot!

*Just then Momiji’s pager goes off*

Yaegashi: Momiji, an Aragami has appeared! Momiji, do you copy?

Koume: Crap!

Momiji: Oh my God!

*Later that night, after the Aragami has been destroyed...*

Kusanagi and the TAC: *Triumphant pose*

*Momiji looks at a nearby clock, which reads 11:10 PM. *

Momiji: Oh it’s so late now.

*Scene changes to the dark and empty schoolyard filled with trash and remnants of that afternoon’s festival. Momiji walks slowly up to the now-burnt firewood and looks very sadly at it.*

Momiji: Yes, of course, it’s too late.

*Just then Kusanagi appears from the shadows*

Kusanagi: Ah, well, uh...

Momiji - *Teary-eyed* Kusanagi-san!

*The scene ends with Momiji and Kusanagi dancing together in the schoolyard*
