About My City.
Multan,
(m¢l-tän´) city (1981 pop. 696,316),
(TOMB OF SHAH RUKAN-E-ALAM)
East Central Pakistan, in the Punjab. It is the commercial center
of a farming region and has such industries as Metalworking,
Food Processing, and Textile and Chemical Manfacturing.
One of the Subcontinent's oldest cities, it fell to such conquerors
asAlexander the Great (326 B.C.), the Muhammad Bin Qasim (Arab)
(8th cent.),Timur (1398), Mughals and the Sikhs (1818).
The British ruled it from 1848 to 1947.

Multan is in two parts Old City which is situated in center
of new City.Old city has very big wall around it and has
6 gates named Bohar Gate, Haram Gate , Pak Gate ,Dehli Gate,
Daulat Gate & Lohari Gate.There is a stadium at 100 meter high
from roads and buildings.
