Tips & Tricks

Feeding tips

Don't overfeed your Tamagotchi with snacks. He'll become overwheight and selfish.
Don't give him snacks to make him happier, 'cause it will also make him unhealthy.
Don't give your Tamagotchi a chance to complain. If he always has to complain to get what he needs, he'll grow up to be mean.

Tips regarding his sleep

First thing you should do after he wakes up is flush the toilet.
Turn of the lights at night to give him a good nights rest.

General tips

Don't! give him preventive shots, or else he will become unhappy.
Only yell at your Tamagotchi if he complained when he was doing OK, or else he'll become an insecure and aggressive guy.
Attempt to always keep all the hearts full. That way, he'll be happier and grow up to be a better Tamagotchi.

Cheats

Setting the Clock

Make sure no menu is selected
Press B to make the clock appear
Pressing A and then C will put you into the set clock mode
Set the clock

Pausing the game

Make sure no menu is selected
Press B to make the clock appear
Pressing A and then C will put you into the set clock mode
When your Tamagotchi is in the set clock mode, the game will be paused.
To reactivate the game, exit from the set clock mode

Speed up growth

When your Tamagotchi is awake, set the time to one minute before his regular bedtime.
In one minute he'll go to sleep.
After he's asleep, set the clock to one minute before his regular wake-up time.
He'll wake up in one minute.

After waking up, your Tamagotchi should be one year older than before.
There are no known side effects, but you never know...

5.5 Million Tamagotchis were sold in Japan from November 96 - May 97.
