Chapter II
A Friend In Need
"Hey, wait up!" cried the boy.
"Why should I?" yelled Calysta, storming through the market crowd, "You cost me the tournament!!!"
"Well, EXCUSE me!" he growled, "I'm not the one who asked to be here."
"You weren't supposed to appear, I was trying to summon a HERO, not a kid!"
Just then,Calysta realized that it was HER fault for miscasting the spell. She hoped that the boy wouldn't figure this out.
"Well, the least you can do is get me back home," said the boy.
"No can do," Calysta said plainly as they both walked down the market square, "I don't know how."
"WHAT?!!"
"You were summoned," she explained, "anything summoned usually disappears after a while, or dying, or performing a certain task. There's nothing I can do."
"Oh, that's just GREAT," the boy huffed.
"Either way, go away and leave me be, I've got important things to do today."
"HEY!! Your just going to leave me here?!"
"Yup."
"What a bitch."
"What did you say?!!"
"Nothing."
Suddenly, commotion ran through the crowded tournament market.
"Look out!!! A Kôran raid!!! Seek cover!!!"
A group of armored warriors came riding through on garrens tearing up everthing in there path. One rider made he way in the path of Calysta.
"Hey, look out!" cried the boy, as he lunged at Calysta knocking them both to the ground, out of harms way.
"Ouch.....thanks, I think." Calysta said.
"No problem," the boy replied, "I wouldn't want to see a beautiful girl like you to get trampled now would I? opp!" he realized he just said too much.
"Ohh..." Calysta blushed at the heroic deed of the boy as they came close to each other. Then she came to her senses...
"Get, OFFA me, pervert!" she cried as she flung the boy off of herself.
She gasped for air, eyes widened to the size of dinnerplates, as she cluched her chest. Wow....she was red. Meanwhile, the boy rubbed his head as he got up.
"Jeez, do a girl a favor..." he moaned.
"That's a favor I can do without, thank you very much," she said , dusting herself off, "Now help me up."
"Man, excuse me," the boy said as he helped her up, "By the way, what's your name?"
"I suppose I can reveal my name to a person such as yourself without any harm," Calysta said, flinging her hair back then placing her hands on her hips.
"Well, aren't WE the humble type?" Dante said folding his hands.
"I, am part of the Black Rock Wizards' Guild!" She puffed her chest out and raising her nose, "The very name strikes fear in the hearts of men!"
"Well, that guy you were fighting back there wasn't too scared," said the boy, crossing his arms.
"Hmmph!" You could see a vein slightly appear on her forehead.
"Sorry," said the boy, "ANYWAY, my name is Dante, Dante Sojiro." he extended his hand.
".........Calysta..............Paradox" she reluctantly shook Dante's hand.
"A beautiful name for a beautiful woman," said Dante.
"Oh, stuff it, outlander," Calysta said, turning her head away looking at the sky with a blushing, mad face.
Dante chukled, "Well, what are going to do now?"
"Well, since I DIDN'T WIN THE TOURNAMENT, I guess I'm going to go home, so goodbye," said Calysta, sitting on her broom.
Dante noticed that she didn't sit side-saddle on her broom, which wasn't very lady-like, but Dante didn't care; It showed off her legs. Man, was he drooling; for a moment, he wished he was the broom, with that girls' legs wrapped aroun.........she took off.
"HEY!!!! WAIIIITTTTTT!" Dante said, coming to his senses, "WHAT ABOUT SENDING ME HOME?!?!?!?!?!!"
She was gone, his only chance to get home, his only companion in this strange, new world that he was thrust into. In short, he was stranded, penniless, tired....his stomach growled.......and hungry.
