My own personal Conversion

I became an Anime fan back in 96 when a young man finally convinced me near the end of the school year that Anime was pretty cool and that I should go to an Anime presentation. I wasn't so sure. See, I grew up in a house that was somewhat over-protective and although I wasn't smothered by my parents, they were still always in the back of my mind. I knew that Anime often had more than brief flashes of female flesh and even more blood. But finally I went. The very first show that they showed was Battle Angel Alita. My fears were very much confirmed in that movie. But the next movie they showed was one of the older Dirty Pair movies. Although it had some brief nudity, it was a lot more fun to watch and it fulfilled my type of action. The only low point was the movie they showed at the end, Greenwood episodes 5&6. I've never been much for soap-operas, even if they're animated. But after that, I didn't stop. I became obsessed with Anime, even to the point of watching the Guyver videos. If Anime hadn't come along, I don't know if I would've considered Animation as my career, but thanks to Anime and Reboot, I'm now going to try and repay the favor. Watch out Walt, here comes Anime!
