Full blooded saiya-jin, born on planet vegita. Born with a low power level so he was sent off to a weak planet, earth. On his arrival on earth he's found by a wise man named, Son Gohan. Due to his brainwashing recieved in his spacepod he was a wild baby who tore up and destroyed things. One day Gokou was accidently dropped down a cliff got a scar on his head, which resulted in memory loss. So Gokou from that point was a sweet baby. After his granpa's death he bumps into Bulma which leads to his adventure in DB and so on. Gokou not the brightest DBZ member (never atcually attending school) but what he lacks in brains he makes up in fighting skill.
Piccolo/Kami:
Kami was chosen to become the god of earth. So before he took the job he rid his soul of all the evil within himself. The evil then formed into another Namek the same age as Kami calling himself, Piccolo Daimaoh. This Piccolo became a great enemy of Gokou then in a struggle Gokou managed to kill him, but not before he managed to spit out an egg. This egg was another form of Piccolo. It was more like a clone. He knew everything the other Piccolo knew except he knew he wasn't the same one. Later on Piccolo becomes good and fights along with Gokou. On planet Namek Piccolo combines with another Namek named Nail and early in the Cell saga he combines with Kami giving him strength more powerful than SSJ1 (non-ultimate form) and temporary being a god.
Yamcha the King Hynea
Yamcha is one of the first members of the team. He's usually being followed by a floating shape-charging cat named Pu'ar. He starts out as a thief, a scavenger who robs the people in his territory. Later after bumping into Gokou learns of the story of the Dragonballs, follows them around and eventually joins them. Yamcha loves to fight, money, and most of all looking good. He's usually the one that has a problem when an evil person joins the team (Vegeta, #18, etc.) which is atcually ironic if you think about it.
Prince Vegeta :
The best way to describe he is as the lone warrior always stuck in Gokou's shadow.
Son of King Vegeta. Unlike Gokou, Vegeta possesed great power as a kid and could eaisly take out several sabaimen. After his father's death Vegeta began sucking up too freeza secertly hating him. Until he heard of the Dragon Balls of earth and disobeyed Freeza, and went there anyway. After his encounter with Gokou he left earth in defeat, and went to Planet Namek to look for the Dragon Balls, where Freeza was. The events on Namek lead to Vegeta killing almost everyone of Freeza's men (having his share of defeats). The list includes Kiwi, Dodoria, Zarbon, the entire Ginyu Force (except ginyu) and more. As he battled Freeza he suffered a humililating defeat by form 4 Freeza and then Freeza eventually killed him after Gokou arrived. Vegeta was later ressurected with the Dragon Balls. After a while Vegeta joins are Z-team and goes on journies and adventures with them.
Goten
Gokou’s second son. Goten is a ½ Saiya-jin ½ earthling. At birth Goten looked exactly like Gokou and personality was similar to Gokou’s. Goten is a bright cheerful kid who really looks up to his brother Gohan. Goten was born while Gokou was dead and luckily was born during the time Chi-chi was very light-hearted and didn’t make him study every second of his life, like she made Gohan do. In matter of fact Chi-chi actually trains Goten and that’s the earliest time Goten is shown to be able to go Super Saiya-jin.
Future Trunks
This Trunks comes from a cold and tragic future. In his time-line, Gokou dies of a heart disease. Leaving the rest of the z-team to face the androids. Eventually androids #17 and #18 kill off our great fighters: Vegeta, Piccolo, Yamcha, and so on. Except one of the few survivors is our great friend SSJ Gohan. Bulma, who is still alive haves a son, who’s father is Vegeta. Gohan knowing the great potential this kid has, starts to train him. But as hard as Trunks tries he couldn’t become a Super Saiya-jin. One day Gohan and Trunks decide to face the androids #17 and #18. Gohan puts up a good match but Trunks is losing. Gohan tries to help but loses his arm in battle. Later Gohan goes to fight them again. Knowing Trunks is to weak he knocks him out and faces them alone. When Trunks arrives he sees Gohan, his mentor, trainer, friend dead. This causes him to turn Super Saiya-jin. Then Bulma creates a time machine, sends Trunks to the past to save Gokou.
Future Trunks is quiet, do to his tragic past and quite polite since his father figure was Son Gohan. But all of his past events gets him angry, and he uses it on the battle field. Especially when he gets older. Trunks is also one of the only characters in the series to turn Ultimate Super Saiya-jin.
Trunks
Born into a nicer world (if you can say that. At one point everyone on earth dies in his timeline). Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma. His personality is a lot different than future Trunks, do to him growing up with his friends. Trunks talks a lot and is always getting into trouble as a kid, along with his best friend Goten, who looks up to him. (In DBGT he made Trunks to silent. Trying to copy Future Trunks, which wasn’t smart.) Trunks is truly Vegeta’s son. This is shown through events like Movie #12 when Trunks tells Goten, if you have time to complain than you have time to fight. Something Vegeta would say indeed. Well unlike his future counter-part, Trunks turns SSJ very young. He’s also being constantly trained by Vegeta, who thinks He’s at an age to start training seriously now.
