"Destinies
Shattered and Renewed"
Chapter 7
By Yesenia
Prince Endymion sighed wearily. He and his parents, King Damian
and Queen Augusta, along with two of his generals were on their
way to the Moon Kingdom palace. The other 2 generals stayed on
earth with his brother Prince Derek.
<Why must he stay and I go?> Endymion thought to himself. He already knew what his parents were going to say: You are 19 now, and it is time for you to consider marriage. Marriage was the last thing Endymion had on his mind. He had many ladies of earth's court waiting for him back on his planet, so marriage wasn't an option to him.
Well, at least he knew he wouldn't be all that lost in the Moon Kingdom. His brother Derek had gone there many times, for he loved one of Queen Serenity's daughters, Princess Cecilia. On one occasion, she had come to earth, and she told him about the kingdom and her 2 sisters, Princess Serenity, who was the youngest of the 3,and Princess Jessica, who was the oldest and in line for the heir of the Moon Kingdom. Still he laughed out loud as he remembered Cecilia telling him that Jessica, who was 17, acted immature on occasion, and Serenity, who was 14, acted like a klutz.
Malachite looked at him and asked, "Your highness, whats so funny?"
Endymion realized he had gotten some unwanted attention and answered, "I just can't wait to see how those Princesses act."
Suddenly they had reached the front door of the palace. "That's odd?" Jadeite commented at not seeing guards standing at the door.
"The Moon Kingdom has no need for guards in front, they're at peace," Queen Augusta said, answering Endymion's and the two generals expression on their faces. King Damian knocked on the long door.
Suddenly it opened, and a young lady with long dark brown hair in odangos answered, "Ah, yes, welcome to the Moon Kingdom, right this way," the young lady said letting them in.
As they walked by the long ballroom, Endymion noticed the young lady was royalty by her hairstyle. "Why are you showing us around, shouldn't a servant be doing this?" Endymion said to the young lady who had her back turned.
The young lady heard his remark and took anger at it. "Listen!" she shouted, turning to face him, "I really don't need your remarks, our kingdom is at peace, and so, mother has asked me to show you earthlings around!" She was about to continue but looked at his face and she knew he was speechless. She then turned around and pointed to this long crystal stairway to the right, and in a calm voice said, "This is where your chambers are located, now this way to the meeting room," she gestured towards this seemingly endless hallway.
As they were walking, Endymion took notice of the young lady's beauty <she's quiet a looker, but with a temper> he thought to himself. The young lady finally stopped at a long chamber door, opened it and gestured for the others to enter. King Damian, Queen Augusta, General Jedite and Malachite, along with Prince Endymion entered the room, while the young lady disappeared from sight.
"Hey where'd she go?" the Prince asked, but no one replied.
Suddenly Queen Serenity then appeared before them with her two other daughters. "Welcome" she said, as she and her two other daughters bowed before the King and Queen of Earth.
"No your highness, it is us that should be bowing to you," the King said, gesturing for the queen and her daughters to arise. They arose and sat in their thrones made of crystal. Endymion noticed the other two girls as well. He knew the one with the blue and black hair, she was Princess Ceilia. The other he had heard rumors of , Princess Serenity, she was the youngest of the three but was kinda clumsy and had the worst temper of all three.
"Please sit down," Queen Serenity said, pointing to the five chairs beside a wall. A servant entered the room and took the chairs and placed them in front of the royal court of the Moon. The group took their seats. Endymion sat down and noticed that there were four thrones but only three people sitting, <how odd?> he thought <maybe . . . > before he could complete his thought was interrupted by the pacing steps of a young lady.
"Mother, gomen for my lateness," she said bowing down to her mother.
<Hey it's her> Endymion said in his mind.
"That's all right my daughter," Queen Serenity said.
The young lady turned to Earth's court and bowed, "I am Princess Jessica, heir to the Moon Kingdom." She sat on her throne and Queen Serenity started discussing the alliance between the Earth and the Moon with King Damian and Queen Augusta.
Princess Serenity couldn't help but stare at Prince Endymion through the whole meeting. She had fallen in love with him. She had noticed that Endymion was staring at her sister, Jessica. <I'll win him yet> the Princess thought to herself.
After an hour of discussing the alliance, the meeting was over, and the first ones to leave were Princess Ceilia and Jessica. Princess Serenity took this advantage and hung onto Endymion's right arm.
"Uhu?" Endymion said looking at the Princess.
"Oh Endymion, you must stay for the royal ball, everyone's gonna be there," Princess Serenity said.
"Your highness," a voice said entering the room.
"Yes, Silver Star?" the Queen answered.
"I was told by Princess Ceilia that we have guests," he said, looking at Earth's court.
"It seems we do," Queen Serenity said with a smile.
"Am I to lead them to their corridors now?" the gentleman asked.
Queen Serenity nodded.
"This way," he said to them, as they followed.
When Princess Serenity and Queen Serenity were the only ones in the room, Princess Serenity asked her mother, "Is that the Prince I am to marry?" expecting a yes.
Instead her mother simply answered, "Dear, he's much too old for you." With that said, the Queen took leave, leaving the Princess there in anger.
"It's not fair, I'll have him, you'll see, I always get what I want, wait 'till tomorrow's royal ball."
