PEACE SHATTERED
CHAPTER 2

It’s 9:00pm and an exhausted Neko walks out of an office building to the bus stop. A black van stops in front of her. She takes a few nervous steps back and settles into a karate position, ready to defend herself. But then, she collapses. Three figures jump out of the van and put her unconscious body into it, the van speeds off for the hospital.

Minako is sleeping when a scream causes her to jolt awake and run to her parents room. There was a youma holding her mother and pulling something hazy white from her.

"VENUS CRYSTAL POWER MAKE-UP!" She yelled and was transformed in the blink of an eye. The youma continued it’s business by raking it’s claws through the white substance.

"STOP RIGHT THERE NEGA-CREEP! I am Sailor Venus and I won’t let you continue whatever your doing! In the name of Venus, I’ll punish you! VENUS LOVE AND BEAUTY SHOCK!"

To her dismay, the youma brushed off her attack and hit her with it’s own. A roar made them both turn around to the semi-transparent Senshi and bear. Venus stared in shock at her, not quite sure what to expect. The youma shot at the silent girl but the shot passed right through her. The bear leaped at the youma and began to absorb it’s substance. Clutching her side, Venus painfully crawled to her unconscious parents. The other Senshi arrived and stared as the girl whispered. In the silent room, her words were clearly audible.

"Soul Collect."

A white ball appeared in her hands and it evaporated. The youma turned to dust. Instead of vanishing like the first time, she walked to the corner to one of the white things and picked it up gently.

"What are those things? Can I touch one?" Venus asked nervously.

"Hai, but be careful. This is the soul of this woman."

"The SOUL?!" Minna gasped.

"Hai, the creature of the dark was searching for something." Was her response.

"Who are you?" Mercury asked.

The ghost like Senshi put the soul in the woman and then put the soul in the man. A low whine is heard. The bear seems to be in pain. The girl puts her hand on it’s head and it vanishes.

"I am the Guardian of Souls, chosen to protect them from the raking hand of evil. Within the souls of two lovers, soulmates is something very powerful, but I am unsure what. What we now fight are known as the Dimensional Marauders." Then she suddenly gave a grunt of pain and held her head. Then she vanished with a grimace of pain on her face. Minna left, all except Venus who de-transformed and sat by her parents, waiting for them to wake up.

"Doctor, how is she?" Yaten asked.

"Her symptoms show she is exhausted and fatigued. What baffles me is the fact she hasn’t woken up yet. She is very lucky you found her and brought her here."

"Can we see her?"

"Of course."

After Neko had collapsed, Seiya, Taiki and Yaten had rushed her to the hospital. Doctors rushed in and out to try and find out why she hadn’t woken up yet. The Lights walked in her room and sat down by her bed. Yaten put his hand on her shoulder, when he did that, a folded up piece of paper slid from her hand and fell to the floor.

Yaten picked it up and unfolded it, when he saw the picture he blushed furiously and folded it back up, but not before Seiya grabbed it to find out why the usually un-fazable Yaten blushed. When he saw it, a huge grin plastered itself on his face and his eyes lit up with laughter and mischievousness.

"Taiki, look at this!" He grinned as he handed the picture to Taiki. Yaten tried to grab it without luck.

"That belongs to Neko!" He blurted in a last attempt to prevent Taiki from seeing the sufficed to say embarrassing picture. A smile curled the corners of Taiki’s mouth.

"It seems that Yoruno-san has an infatuation with you Yaten."

"Her and every other girl!" He blasted at Taiki, trying to muster his pride back together.

"Such a romantic picture! Neko and Yaten standing in a field of flowers kissing by the light of the full moon!" Seiya laughed before getting an idea.

Neko jolted awake to a sitting position covered with sweat and a hell of a head ache.

"Owww, my head." She muttered as she looked around her surroundings. When she saw the guys she blushed.

"Call it a hunch, but I have a feeling I owe you guys a big favour."

Yaten saw the look on Seiya’s face and went to stop him before he took total advantage of the situation.

"Well . . . I know!" Seiya exclaimed before he whispered in Neko’s ear.

All colour drained from her face and she fainted. Seiya stared at her in amazement.

"Any other girl would have leaped and shouted in ecstasy. She just faints without a sound. Maybe her prince should kiss her and wake her up." Seiya grinned at Yaten who just stormed out.

"I think he likes her, ne?"

Across the city, fire trucks screech to a halt in front of a blazing apartment building which is quickly burning to the ground. In Neko’s burning apartment, a white aura has surrounded the painting of the dragon and is keeping the flame away from an ostrich sized crystalline egg.

A police officer walks to the front desk and asks to see someone, the nurse leads her down the hall and tells the officer to walk right in. Seiya and Taiki stare, Yaten enters the room just in time to hear the conversation.

"Yoruno Neko?"

"Hai?"

"Do these objects belong to you?" She says as she puts down the dragon picture and the crystalline egg.

"Hai."

"I’m sorry to tell you this, but your building was mostly destroyed in a fire last night. These are the only things left of your apartment." The officer said apologetically. Neko broke down sobbing.

"Here’s a list of shelters, I think you’ll need it now." She said before leaving.

"All my things! The pictures of my parents! Destroyed! What do I do?" She threw herself around Yaten, who was standing beside her, and held his waist tightly while continuing to sob.

"What do I do? Dammit! What do I do?"

Seiya and Taiki tip-toed out of the room to talk.

"You know Taiki, that apartment next to ours is empty . . ."

"I was thinking the same thing, she has nowhere to go. And the shelters are crowded as it is."

"She’s our friend, and she’s such a sweet girl. Not to mention she’s alone."

"I’ll go call the landlord and tell her." Taiki said as he ran off.

Meanwhile, in the room, Yaten is rocking Neko back and forth, trying to comfort her and smooth her dishevelled hair.

Neko goes to sleep against Yaten. He lays her down on the bed and stares at her sleeping form for a moment before wiping away her tears and walking out quietly. If he had stayed a little longer, he would have heard Neko mutter his name in her sleep.

Neko is standing in a field and looking around, a few yards ahead of her is an easel with the dragon painting on it. She walks toward it and touches the painting. In a bright flash of light the painting and easel are replaced with a live dragon.

"Do not be afraid of me Neko-chan. You know who I am. If you don’t remember, look deep inside you." She told her. Neko’s eyes went wide when she got her memories.

"Ryulithe! My brother . . ."

"That’s right Sienran-chan, after your death you were reborn as the human Yoruno Neko. You have a mission you know that now."

"I know, when will I see you again Lithe-chan?"

"Soon sis, I’m in the crystalline egg. I’ll be reborn as you were. Then I’ll give your full soul control powers. Until then . . ."

"I know, when I find the Dimensional Sabre and Scabbard I’m to protect them until your rebirth."

"Right Sailor Soul."

"Will I lose my head aches whenever my soul returns from battle now that I know?"

"Hai! They will! You will never fall unconscious again because now your body will be the Senshi of souls. Take this, it’s your henshin wand. You just need to shout, ETERNAL SOULS ERUPT MAKE-UP, and you’ll transform."

"Arigato brother."

Neko woke up with a smile on her face, now she finally knew!

Usagi and Mamoru are in the park kissing when a pink cloud forms above them (sound familiar?), a girl holding a ball falls right on top of them. Smiling, the girl says, "Hi mom! Hi dad!"

"Chibi-Usa!" Usagi screams. "Get off us you little . . ." She then notices her appearance and stops mid-sentence.

"Chibi-Usa?" Usagi gapes.

"It’s just Usa now mom." The sixteen year old pink haired girl says.
