Together Again
Chapter 5

She stumbled into the infirmary where Ami was looking after Bara.

"Ami, how is Bara? Will she be alright?"

"A mild concussion, some scratches and bruises but that’s all, she’ll be fine in a day or two."

"Good." Sarah said before collapsing unconscious from loss of blood and weakness. Ami then looked at her and got her rushed to the operating table.

But no one knew of the eyes that had watched the entire battle right from where the monster appeared to the monster’s death. The eyes had flashed violet before vanishing in the shadows.

Usa, Merlin, Hon, Serenity, Endymion and the Senshi were pacing, waiting for news on Sarah’s condition. Ami finally came out of the operating room with a sigh.

"Well?" They all asked.

"She was badly injured and weakened from the fight, but she’ll survive. But she’ll be out of it for a few days, we must be patient."

Bara, Hon and Merlin slept in the infirmary, all refusing to leave Sarah’s side. Just outside the door, the same pair of violet eyes appeared and watched as the four Alicorns slept. Bara stirred, the eyes vanished.

When morning came, Sarah was still unconscious, and Bara found a note and a red rose by her door.

Bara

I saw you risk your life to protect your brother yesterday and I think I fell in love with you. But I’ve still to meet you face to face. Would you meet me at sunset today in the glade north of the Hidden Valley?

Bara stared at the note, not really knowing what to do.

"Ooooh! You’ve got a secret admirer Bara! What are you going to do?" Slyly said Usa as she read the note over Bara’s wing.

"I don’t know what to do, I don’t even know who he is."

"True, but you’re an Alicorn with a fierce mother! He’d be out of his mind to try and attack you. Not to mention you’re a great fighter."

"Do you want me to show you a little trick your mother taught me?" Merlin asked as he approached them.

"Sure, what is it?"

"Check the aura of the letter. When someone writes a letter a bit of their aura rubs off on it. White’s good, black’s evil."

The aura of the letter appeared, it was white.

"Cool! I guess I’ll see my admirer at sunset."

It was now night time and Bara had gone off to see her admirer, Usa laid back on her bed and began thinking of the things that had happened since her and Sarah first met. Even though she had been scared of Lucifer, she was ready to fight him. She remembered Sarah’s reason for joining in the battle.

(((flashback)))

"Wait!" Sarah stopped. "What made you change your mind?" Chibi-Usa asked.

"When you came and begged for my help, I felt a great power from you that I did not understand so I tried to ignore it. But it kept nagging at me. Suddenly I knew what it was and I came."

"What was it?"

"Something I had lost long ago. I once said that one more would make the difference between victory and death. I was right."

"Nani?"

"That ‘one more’ was you child, you and your love for everything was the difference between victory and death. I will visit when I can, I must hold love now, instead of letting it go. Arigato." Then Sarah vanished in her green flames.

(((end flashback)))

Then there was her 12^th birthday party, the first birthday Sarah had ever seen. Or so she had claimed. Usa had a feeling that Sarah knew all about birthdays, she just never let on. But why? Birthdays were wonderful occasions.

Also that conversation between Merlin and Sarah that she had eavesdropped on was sufficed to say, shocking.

(((flashback)))

" . . . . But there is another matter I need to talk to you about. Queen Serenity mentioned saving a young boy from certain death when you were younger, I need to ask who that boy was and how it was possible for him to get one of your feathers."

"I do not know what his name was then but I do know that he called himself Chiba Mamoru, in other words, King Endymion. As for the matter of my feather, I was molting during that time. I had gotten into a fight with a large group of poachers and they severely damaged the majority of my flight feathers. No doubt the feather he holds is damaged."

(((end flashback)))

There were so many mysteries about Sarah. Mysteries that might never be solved. Oh . . . and how could Usa forget the dreams that haunted her ever since that conversation between the two Alicorns.

~~~~~~Bara’s POV~~~~~~

I was flying over the Hidden Valley, looking for the glade my admirer would be waiting for me in.

<There’s the glade, now where’s my admirer?> I thought as I looked down and scanned the glade before landing. There were so many things running through my mind at light speed I can’t remember them at all. My keen ears picked up a rustling in the bushes to my right, I stood nervously as I waited for him to show himself. There was another rustle and he stepped out, I gasped.

"Masaka . . ."

Sure, he looked calm and collected, but his eyes and voice betrayed the true emotions in him; love.

"Bara, I didn’t know if you would come. My sweet rose with eyes that sparkle and dance, your beauty so radiant not all the suns in the galaxy could compare. When I first saw you Bara, protecting your brother, I thought I had laid eyes upon a goddess. But now that I can finally look at you close up I find you are so much more than a mere goddess and I humbly ask if I, Fuyu, would be allowed to grace your company."

My face turned as red as the flower I was named for. Fuyu was obviously very nice and he did have a way with words, but he still had to face mother.

"I allow you Fuyu."

Fuyu somersaulted in ecstasy.

<But still . . .> I had to wonder in worry. <What will everyone’s reaction be . . . especially mother’s, when they learn that Fuyu is an Alicorn? . . .>

Back at the palace, there were many worried people, people that worried for Sarah. In the ICU, Sarah twitches, two pairs of eyes immediately gaze at the dreaming Alicorn, and from her movements and facial expression, it’s not a good dream. Both Serenity and Usa immediately put their hands on her to ease her pain and stop her obvious nightmare. If anything, the nightmare seemed to get worse at their touch. Both have to wonder what she could be dreaming about. Then, out of the blue, Sarah bolts from the bed, screaming at decibels no one would have thought possible. Serenity had screwed her eyes shut and plugged her ears to the sound. Usa was doing the same except her eyes were open and she saw something that nearly knocked the socks off her before it disappeared and Sarah calmed down.

<She had a Crescent Moon . . . .>

~~~~~~Sarah’s POV~~~~~~

I woke up screaming from my now receding dream, fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) I only could recall bits and pieces of it. There was a threat that seemed unnerving in it’s familiarity, but I couldn’t quite pin it, yet. It was then I noticed that Serenity and Usa were looking at me in shock that I had just jumped out of bed like I had in my current condition, mind you I was running on adrenalin alone at the current moment from my nightmare.

Soon my rushing blood subsided and I managed to glance cooly at the Queen and Princess.

"Is the something wrong or something you wish to speak to me about?"

They stared at me in disbelief, not two minutes ago I was unconscious and lying down on the bed. Now, I was up and asking them if they needed anything.

"Ah . . . actually Sarah, we were wondering if you were okay. It seemed you were having a pretty vicious nightmare."

Actually, what Serenity was mistaking for a nightmare was a vision. Since I didn’t feel I needed to worry them I let them believe what they would, after all, there was no proof, yet anyway.

"It was just a nightmare, that is all. Really no need for you to concern yourselves."

"Well, that’s a relief, we were really worried there for a minute."

Speaking of relief, it was high time I relieved Merlin and began making up for lost time on our project.

I used the uncomfortable silence as an excuse and left for the moon where Merlin was about to collapse in exhaustion.

"I am sorry Merlin . . ."

"No need to apologize Sarah, really, it’s alright. But I do hope you’re ready to do some *major* work."

"Since when have *I* ever shunned work?"

Merlin tried to remember when in her life she had ever avoided work but couldn’t recall a thing so he just left, Sarah had to laugh a little.

Merlin appeared in the palace and was immediately tackled by Usa for some serious questioning and if she was lucky, a little dream interpretation.

Usa dragged Merlin into the gardens.

"Okay Merlin, question one, *why* did you call Sarah a Petenshi? She’s no trickster!"

He chuckled in recollection of that nickname’s origin.

"Usa-chan, she may not seem like one now, but she was in the days of the Silver Millennium! That’s why everyone was convinced she was a bad influence on the princess. I recall the day she got that nickname clearly." His eyes glazed over in reminiscence.

"What did she do?" She asked, burning with curiosity.

His eyes still glazed over, he told her in a way that might you might think it had only happened a few minutes ago, instead of a few millennia ago.

"It was classic, the royalty of all the planets except Earth were gathered for the annual report. Sarah and the princess, only about six years old then were excused, being too young to attend were *very* bored. And with boredom comes inevitably, mischief."

Usa could almost imagine it, she knew the feeling.

"Sarah got that gleam in her eye that usually meant she had mischief on her mind. Princess Serenity knew that look and was excited at what Sarah might have planned. While the meeting was in recess, they snuck in with a shield [of] invisibility around them both to prevent detection from the guards and set everything up on the chairs of the King and Queen of Mars. When they all returned, Sarah and Princess Serenity took refuge in the corner to watch the action. Sarah had teleported her partner in crime to her room in case of discovery and was recording everything for later." He had a hard time containing his laughter now. "When they all sat down," He cracked and began to roll on the ground and holding his sides in laughter.

"What happened!? Tell me! Please!"

He managed by some incredible feat to stop laughing long enough to tell her.

"Let me put it this way . . . they had put . . . the first two . . . ever to exist . . . whoopie cushions . . . on their chairs!" He started to roar again, and Usa joined him. Their laughing had brought all the Senshi to the gardens to find out what the joke was. Eventually they were told and everyone had a good, hearty laugh.
