About the Chocobos

Yellow Chocobo

These Chocobos are by far the easiest ones to obtain. There are several,5, categories in which they

fit in to.

The not so good chocobo..it's head is hanging and walks.-found near the Chocobo Farm tracks

The regular one that has it's head up and just stands.

The Ok chocobo has it's head up and walks.-Found east of Gold Saucer.

The Great chocobo runs with it's head up.-found in the southern continent near Midel.

The Awsome chocobo runs with it's head down, don't mistake it's head position with the first

chocobo because they are placed entirley different...the Awsome chocobo's head is down like it is

determined.-found in the *northern continent

-You must catch one when it appears with rabbits,Jumpers, or else you'll get a not so good chocobo.

travel methods:The Yellow Chocobos travel the same way you do on foot, the only thing is that

they move faster.

Green Chocobo

These Chocobos are the spawn of A Great Chocobo(Female) and an Ok Chocobo(Male).

Travel methods: The Green Chocobo can climb over mountains.

Blue Chocobo

The Blue Chocobo is made by using the same Yellow Chocobos for the Green one but, the Great

Chocobo has to be a Male and the Ok has to be female. The Blue Chocobo can cross rivers and

shallow (light blue) water.

Travel Methods:The Blue Chocobo can cross rivers and shallow (light blue) water.

Black Chocobo

These Chocobos are produced by breeding a blue and green chocobos. The gender does not mater.

Travel Methods:The Black Chocobo can climb over mountains and cross rivers.

Gold Chocobo

The Ultimate Chocobos. If you want one, breed a Black Chocobo with an Awsome, yellow,

chocobo.

Travel Methods:These guys/gals can go anywhere on the overworld

Chocobo Breeding

Requirements:

The Highwind (Airship)

'Chocobo Lure' materia

Lots of money around 600,000g-1,200,000g~the higher the better

6 stables at the Chocobo Farm

I recommend that you buy the 'Gold Card' at Gold Saucer since you'll be going there a lot

'Steal' materia

3 Carob and 1 Zeio nuts.~Carob nuts can be found in the Boneville area (fight in the dark grass

near the forest and steal them fromt the red creatures.~Zeio nuts are in the North Eastern area of the

map, it's an island with a forst on it(...you are able to land on it so don't get it confused with the

Knights of the Round Island.) Encounter goblins with boxing gloves on and steal the Zeio nut from

them.

Benefits

You'll be able to get the best summon,command, and support materia.

You'll be able to go anywhere you want to when you get the 'Gold Chocobo'.

Raising & Breeding

Step#1

Catch a Great Chocobo and an Ok Chocobo. Make sure you get opposite genders or you will not

be able to breed. To increase your chances, save the game before you enter the Chocobo Farm.

That way, if you get the incorrect gender you can just reset (hold L1+L2+R1+R2+select+start).

Step#2

Now that you moved the Chocobos into stables and named them, fly to the Chocobo Sage's house

and buy some Sylkis Greens.(His house is found in the Snow Mountains...) You'll need at least 20 of

them, 10 for each Chocobo, but I bought 80, 40 a peice. Now, go back to the farm and split the

food evenly.

In order for you to breed successfully, the Chocobo's Rank must be level 'A'. The only way to obtain

that level is to race your chocobos at Gold Saucer in Chocobo Square. Go here for help in Gold

Saucer.

Step#3

Next, after the Chocobos are A rank, (make sure you save before doing this) Go breed the two

chocobos with the Carob nut.

Hopefully, you got a green chocobo or blue chocobo.

If not then make sure they're at 'A' rank...make sure you fed them the Carob nut.....make sure you

have the right kind of chocobos...in some cases everything is correct so, reset and try again.

Step#4

If you bred a Green Chocobo then you now need to get a Blue one. If you bred a Blue one, you

need a green one. One way of making it easier is if you just spend time fighting after you bred the Ok

and Great chocobos, then (save before doing this) let them mate and, maybe you'll get the chocobo

you need, blue/green.

Step#5

Now, go to the Chocobo Sages house and buy some Sylkis Greens and feed them to the Green and

Blue Chocobos. Then, race them and bring them up to rank 'A'. Once they're at 'A' rank, go back to

the Farm and mate the blue chocobo with the green chocobo. Hopefully you got a black chocobo. If

not then make sure you followed these things.

Step#6_Final Step

All you need to do now is get the Gold chocobo and you're all set.

Go catch an Awsome Chocobo in the Northern Continent. Make sure you catch one when it

appears with the rabbits or else you'll get a not so good Chocobo.

Feed it 'Sylkis Greens'

Bring it up to rank 'A'

Breed the Awsome Chocobo with the Black Chocobo using the Zeio Nut

If your Awsome and your black chocobo are at 'A' rank, and you used the Zeio nut, then you should

get the Gold Chocobo!

Now that you have a Gold Chocobo, you can get some great things.
