My Limitations as a Reviewer
I know I will have my (potential) flaws as a reviewer, and just thought that I would mention them beforehand just so that you would be made aware of them.
-
I have a rather strong bias towards fanficfiction concerning Uranus and Neptune. It’s not to say that I think poorly of fanfiction that does not include or revolve around them - I simply read less of them, and so I have fewer reviews for such fanfics. In a way, one might think of this place as a limited and select library of reviews for Uranus/Neptune fanfiction, but not strictly so. I realize that this might be a source of frustration for some visitors who want something more general, and I apologize for that. In the future, I might gradually try to remedy this, but until then, my humble regrets.

I am not a very great reader of epics. It is mainly a factor of the time I have available. As obvious as it may sound, shorter fanfics take less time to read than longer ones, and so any reviews that I have of epics are likely to in very small supply. Again, this is something that might change over time.

I have not read the manga (my Chinese is so limited that I’m reading the first book over and over again until I can understand it all, pretty much, before stepping on to the second one). I tend to read less about things I know less about. Though not all fanfiction is necessarily strongly based on the manga or anime, I tend to avoid those that specifically have a strong basis on manga (because, otherwise, I can’t follow the story.)

The only two seasons that I pretty much saw most of (anime-wise) was R and S (Cantonese version). I saw some of the beginning and end of SS, and of Stars I saw the first arc through movie files (and I don’t speak Japanese, mind you!). I saw, fatefully enough, the last two episodes of the first season in Cantonese and tapings of various episodes (DiC version) that my cousins in America had kindly taped. I have, however, read all
the translations on Hitoshi Doi’s site with the exception of the first season. I’m saving myself to watch the season in Cantonese first before reading anything that I might not have caught (I don’t speak Cantonese, either, mind you!).

I am quite unaware of other anime. I may know titles and vaguely hear of characters, but otherwise, Sailormoon is the only thing for me (though I am no great otaku, you realize). This also means that I generally avoid crossover fanfiction and this will probably be reflected in my list of reviews. Again, my apologies.

I am not that enthusiastic about writing bad things about others' fanfics. I suppose that that might a good thing in that, at the moment, all the fanfics that you find reviewed in this site are ones that I really like *. However, my former roommate said that if I was going to have a review site, I should review the good with the bad. I can wait to do that when I start my music review site. (*I confess, though, that this might be less and less the case as this site develops.)
-
I realize that my way of describing, the way I use words, is not necessarily quite the same as how others do. My apologies if this offsets anyone.

This site was started with the intention of being a long-term project. However, though I can pretty much guarantee updates and additions, I can also say that they will likely be far between. While minor modifications will likely be more frequent, additions of my own reviews may occur every couple or few months. On the other hand, the posting of other people's reviews (see Give Your Own Review!) is easier to handle and will likely be taken care of more quickly.

Sheer whim. Well . . . it might add a bit of unreliability, but then, one might be able to predict the nature of my whims. I’m pretty sure there’s some sort of logic, however simple or abstract, to what catches my fancy.
There’s probably more, but I
can’t think of it right now.
