Chris was living in Orlando and working at Universal Studios as a doowop singer. He met and became friends with Joey who was also working at Universal Studios. JC and Justin met on the cast of The Mickey Mouse Club in MGM Studios in Orlando. Justin knew Chris from auditions and JC was friends with Joey whose high-school friends were on The Mickey Mouse Club. Chris wanted to get a group together and contacted Justin, who enlisted JC and had Joey fall into the fold eventually. Justin called his vocal coach back in Memphis and was introduced to Lance.
In 1996, a record contact in Germany took notice of their talent and signed them up. Lou, their manager got in touch with Johnny Wright, the same manager of other hit groups such as New Kids on the Block, Snap, Color Me Badd, and the Backstreet Boys. Johnny was impressed because 'N Sync had a "chemistry." They talked to him as a group and not as five individuals trying to sell themselves.
It wasn't long until their first single "I Want You Back," won a Gold Record for its success. Only recently, after two long years have the boys have been back home to the States. Lets make them stay.
