This gaslighter works without a battery or electric connection with a piezoelectric cristal that yields on impact the high voltage low Ampère current generating the sparks that ignite the gas. The hammer effect on the cristal is provoked by pulling a trigger. The small explosion of the gas may result in some worry for the safety of the operator. We therefore decided to protect the triggering finger enclosing it within a hole.

The general form is the expression of the ergonomic 'handle' in colored ultrasonic welded ABS and the 'working' part in contact with the heat in stainless steel. The whole has thus more similarity with a screwdriver than with a revolver.

The bent form corresponds to other observations in the kitchen. Pans are often already in place before the gas is ignited. With this form we achieve a twofold advantage:

It has been rewarded the MACEF premium of good design in 1976.
