Undulated cardboard is a cheap and relatively
sturdy material
that can be utilized as well for packaging as for a host of other
objects,
such as furniture, especially for children. The Milan UPIM department
store
decided to lance a similar series including a chair, a table, a
cabinet.
The items must be packaged for easy transport, folded in envelopes and designed for simple mounting. Small fastners did the trick. In order achieve intensive colouring we had to dye the board by printing twice, obtaining also, unexpectingly, waterproof surfaces. Once mounted these items result surprisingly resistant. Children eventually use them for their lightness also as giant building blocks. .
