SEARCH FOR THE QUEEN

    Crono and Lucca went to the shops first to buy some things they needed. They knew that if they're going to search for the Queen, they would sure encounter some enemies who are holding her captive. They bought weapons, armors, tonics and shelters and went on their way.
      "You sure are pretty concerned for someone you have just met..." Lucca said to Crono while they were walking.        "........." Crono just looked at Lucca and said, "Why? Is that so wrong?"
       "Not really, I just never thought you're capable of....oh never mind." Lucca said realizing that it's not much important.
On their journey, they passed a small field and a forest. They've also encountered monsters that have no other purpose in life but to be a hindrance to others. They've no choice but to battle these monsters. While battling them, Lucca learned a new technique on how she could use her gun and Crono learned a combo tech with Lucca.
"I guess those monsters were there all along to help build us up!" Crono said much satisfied with the fights.
       "Oh c'mon, you're just saying that because you like fights more than I do but I can't deny that you're partly right..."Lucca replied.
       Inside the forest they found a building that looks very much like a Cathedral. After investigating the outer environment first, they decided to check out the inside. They guarded themselves up and went in.
        "Wow! This is a pretty nice church..." Lucca said while looking at the beautiful cathedral windows. She saw that there are nuns who are praying at the church benches and added, "Uh, Crono, I don't think we should intrude those sisters..."
        "Hmmm...I smell something fishy. Let's ask them some questions first," Crono told Lucca.
        They asked the nuns some few questions about seeing some monsters around the place and about the missing queen. The sisters replied that they haven't seen any monsters and didn't even know anything about the queen missing.
        "The sisters doesn't seem to know anything about the missing queen but I usually get these weird replies from them.." Crono told Lucca after questioning the nuns.
        "I hear you Crono. I was just about to say the same thing. Like when I interviewed this nun, she complemented me that I look like a delicious kid. What's that suppose to mean? I think we're having a multiple generations gap with the people here." Lucca replied.
        "Hey look over there, there's seems to be a shining object!" Crono pointed to Lucca the glittering object at the center of the aisle. They both went to it and Lucca picked it up.
        "It's a broach with the royal crest!" she exclaimed.
        The nuns suddenly stood up from their benches and circled around Crono and Lucca. A wild fire then ignited on each of the sisters then their skins shed revealing the true monster hiding inside.
        "Nage-Ettes!", Crono smiled, " I knew I smelled something fishy. You guys are well known for that."
        Crono and Lucca drew out their weapons.
        "I guess it's time to try my new tech....take this!..SLASH ATTACK!" Crono brought down his sword to the ground with massive force and speed that a piercing wind was created slashing the monster that was on it's way. The monster went down on it's knees but it was still in one whole. Lucca tried firing one of the monsters using her blaster but it didn't do much harm on them. The naga-ettes hit Lucca and Crono one after the other.
        "Ugh, I can't believe they're still ok after you've used your slash attack Crono. Now, it's my turn...FLAME TOSS!!" Lucca reprogrammed her blaster just like what she had learned earlier and turned it into a great torch gun. She hit one of the naga-ettes. The monster ignited and went up in smoke. After a few moments, it disappeared.
        "Lucca, the monsters seems to have a weakness for fire..." Crono shouted then felt a naga-ette was about to hit him with it's claws so he hastily drew back and defended himself.
        "You're right! Crono let's use the new combo tech we learned earlier then. It might just work...." Lucca kept firing her torch gun to the monsters that were surrounding her.
        Crono and Lucca then ran to each other and simultaneously shouted, "FIRE WHIRL!!!" Crono began to whirl around the room with ultra fast speed using his Cyclone technique. Lucca, using her Flame Toss, aimed her gun at Crono and fired at him. Crono went up in a blaze hitting every monster that was on his way. The monsters suddenly ignited one after the other and disappeared until none was left. Crono stopped whirling when the fire on his body subsided.

        "Whew! you should try that out Lucca, it's pretty exhilarating." Crono said trying to recover from his whirling state.
        "Uh yeah, sure Crono, maybe next time. I guess your friend Toma was right all..." Lucca was cut short when Crono shouted for her to look out. When she turned her back she saw a Naga-Ette, which was hiding all this while, jump at her and was about to kill her. Lucca was about to see her doom then closed her eyes. She suddenly heard a clash of blades. When she opened her eyes, she saw the claws of the monster an inch of a distance from her face being withheld by a 'massive' sword. It's not Crono's sword but whose was it? Lucca drew backwards and saw the sword was being held by a "frog?!?"
        Lucca scratched her eyes and looked again. It was a frog all right, a real big one. It was about the size of a human being and looks very much like one because it was wearing clothes. It was wearing the clothes of a knight actually!
        The frog suddenly jumped back from the monster and ran forward to it. When he was close enough, he suddenly jumped on a high level and brought his massive sword down to the monster with one swift stroke. The Naga-Ette just smiled. The frog walked away from the monster and went to Lucca. The Naga-ette was about to hit the frog but his body suddenly was sliced into two and then disappeared.
        "Lower thine guard and thou'rt letting the enemy in," said the frog and asked, "Thou'rt here to save the queen?"
        "Oh my gosh! It talks!" Lucca exclaimed not much recovered yet from her near death experience.
        "You're pretty good with the sword there pal, " Crono said to the strange creature.
        "I thank thee but I am not a whole swordsman yet...If thou'rt searching for the queen. I suggest thee that we should join forces." the frog suggested to them.
        "Ugghh, I don't think that's a good idea Crono," Lucca said getting worried that she has to stick along with this strange creature along the way.
        "If that so, then I should be on my way..." the frog told them seeing Lucca's distressed expression.
        "Wait!.." Lucca realized that she was being improper even to a creature like this, "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to...I think it's better if  we should stick together. What's your name?"
        "Hmmm...Just call me Frog... it's much easier...."
        "Well then Frog, should we start searching?" Crono said very glad to hang-out with a great swordsman.

 

 
 


        "Mayhap there be a hidden door here? Let us search the environs." the frog told them.
        The trio now started to look for a hidden door all over the cathedral. They've searched every nook and cranny but still no clue. Crono was getting a bit tired of the search and sat on the stool of an organ near the altar.
        "I can't believe we couldn't find anything in this miniaturized cathedral!!!" Crono suddenly shouted thinking he couldn't conceal his worries anymore.
        "Patience there friend. I'm sure we will find the door in the most unexpected places." Frog comforted Crono but was actually getting worried himself.
        "I can't be patient! Not now! The queen might even be dead by this very minute!!!" Crono shouted.
        "Thou shouldn't speak such words!!!!" Frog was suddenly enraged by what Crono just said and went to comfront him.
        "Hey guys! This is no time to fight now!" Lucca shouted at them.
        Crono then laid his fists on the keys of the organ and a loud eery noise emanated from it. Frog was about to jump on Crono when another noise was heard which stopped them both. The wall on the other side of the altar was now slowly opening upwards. Crono and Frog just looked at each other.
        The three now went inside the mysterious room.
        Inside the building was a maze full of long passages and mysterious rooms. They've encountered monsters along the way who were guarding the hidden maze. Crono and Frog forgot their argument a while ago and fought together like true swordsmans. They even discovered a combo tech using their own original skills. Crono, Frog with their swords and Lucca with her blaster all showed their potential in fighting.  They battled many monsters that were guarding the maze and once or twice, they went inside a room full of them who wasn't alarmed by the sight of humans
        "You know you should take off those disguises now. Nobody's here but us monsters," one of the monsters said to them.
 
        They also went inside a "mysterious" room where monsters are chanting to a statue of a person. They were chanting the name: "Magus". Crono felt something mysterious about the statue and somehow a future fate has something to do with it. This somehow is irrelevant to the Queen so they kept on searching. They soon came across a note on the wall that says there's a hidden door beside it but they couldn't find any switch. After exploring the maze, they found there is yet another organ in one of the other rooms. Getting the idea from what Crono did earlier, they played the organ. A noise was heard from the room where the secret door was and they knew that they have opened it. They went around again to where the hidden door was and entered it.
 
        "Be prepared Queen Leene, the time is now!", they saw the Chancellor saying to the Queen.
        "Halt there! Thou shouldn't lay your hands on her royal highness!" Frog said to the chancellor.
        "Frog!" the queen shouted when she saw the three entered the room.
 
The Queen was over-joyed to see Frog and ran to him. Frog was happy also to see the Queen safe and sound. Crono and Lucca looked at each other.
        "It seems the Queen is familiar with Frog" Crono said to Lucca
        "He is no ordinary half-human half-amphibian, I guess" Lucca thought to herself.
         The three thought now that the Chancellor was behind all this. They took out their weapons to get ready for combat.
        The Chancellor now was grinning and said, "You were fools to think that you could stop me." He suddenly took the form of  a hideous beast with 4 legs and a hideous shell at his back. Frog told the Queen to stay away. The three and Yakara was now getting ready for battle. It seems the monster was more powerful than they thought. He was shooting poisoned needles that came from the back of his body and can hurl poisonous whirlwinds. This was one tough opponent but Crono, Lucca and Frog's determination was tougher. They have been battling monsters ever since they went into the Cathedral. This helped sharpen their fighting skills and magic.
        "I guess this is the time to show what we have learned," Crono said anticipating to battle the evil menace who started it all.
        "Thou shall pay for even thinking of harming the queen," Frog angrily said.
        "Now, let's get this over with!" Lucca exclaimed.
        The three now went around the monster which called itself Yakra. Lucca fired at the monster using her Flame Toss technique. Yakra defended himself by hiding inside his shell even before he was hit by the fire. Crono then used his Slash attack at the moment he saw the moster's head come out.
        "Aaahhh! You fool! Take this!" Yakra said angrily and was about to hit Crono with his poisonous needles when he saw Frog bringing down his massive sword on him. Yakra being all open was hit by the sword.
        "I guess I took you for granted, kids. You weren't like the lame soldiers I fought before," Yakra said lying down after being hit by Frog. He stood up and shoot out his poisonous needles at all of them all at once. The three were hit easily by the fast shooting needles and went down for a moment. Lucca and Crono's armor is pretty weak for an attack like this. They were kneeling down, trying to recover themselves by drinking tonics that they bought earlier. Frog, however, wearing a knight's armor was well-protected and went to Crono and Lucca for support. Yakra laughed at them.
        "Thou think thee can beat us easily? Thou have seen nothing yet!" Frog exclaimed while helping Crono and Lucca to get up. Crono and Lucca looked at each other and   knew what they're about to do next. Lucca got ready to fire her torch gun at Crono getting ready for their Fire Whirl Technique. Yakra wasn't surprised at this and defended himself by hiding inside his shell again. This time Frog didn't wait for Yakra to get out.
        "Thou think hiding in that hideous armor will help thee? Take this then, SLURP CUT!!" Frog then took out his long elastic tongue and held it tight around Yakra. When Yakra felt this, he went out and saw Frog coming towards him in high speed due to the elastic tongue pulling him in. Frog hit Yakra with his massive sword again and let go of his tongue.
        "Wow! I really can't get use seeing that technique!" Crono said watching eagerly Frog do his sword attack.
        Yakra was down again and was about to strike them with his whirlwind attack. Crono and Frog, taking this advantage while Yakra was down, went around him.
        "Tis' now or never," Frog said to Crono.
        "I hear you there buddy," Crono replied.
        Both of them ran to Yakra with high speed and force then suddenly shouted, "X-STRIKE!!!!" Leaving an X-pattern, they hit Yakra with both of their swords coming from the left and right side of the enemy.
        "Nooo!! This can't be!!", they heard Yakra's last words before he was split into four pieces and then dissappeared.

        "Frog, you came to rescue me!", the Queen said after Crono and his group defeated the evil monster.
        "Geee, no problem your highness, we were glad to help..." Crono whispered to Lucca. Lucca just giggled. Lucca remembered something and asked where is the true chancellor was. The Queen gestured that she didn't know. Suddenly, they all heard a tapping sound coming from one of the chests in the room. Crono opened the chest box and came out the real Chancellor! Lucca whispered to Crono, "How in the world did he fit inside there? Good thing he's still alive after all this while..." The Chancellor just went to the door. Queen and Frog was already waiting by the door. Crono and Lucca looked up as the Queen said, "Shall we go?"
