Hey, it's another crazy fic by yours truly, Top Ace. This fic is sort of weird, and could have happened in the original storyline of DBZ, inbetween the Cell game and the Buu saga. Seven years pass in which we know that Gohan & Trunks grow up, #18 and Krillain get married and have a child, and Goten is born. But what happened to Goku? What is he doing? Here's my take on what did happen. (Look at Manga #36 to see where I got some of this stuff from.) And not to be confused, Northern Kaiou is our Kaiou-sama, okay?

For all those American-DBZ fans who don't know the Japanese names for the characters, then listen up. Enma-daiou-sama is King Yama, and Kaiou-sama is King Kai, ya got that?

Oh yeah, and all characters belong to their original owners, blah blah blah, disclaimers and that kind of crap apply, yada, yada... Um, slight spoiler warning, but I don't think it's that important...

Reunited

After a hectic battle in which Goku sacrificed his life to semi-defeat Cell, the heroes return home to forward the news to their loved ones...

"Noooooooo! Not again..." Chi Chi sobbed at the news of her beloved Goku dying once again. Gohan tried to comfort her, but he also felt much pain at his father's death. "It's okay Mom, I'm sure he's watching over us on Kaiou-sama's planet." Chi Chi continued to sob.

Trunks and Yamcha flew off of Dende's tower towards Capsule Corp. "My... My father..?" Trunks asked. Yamcha replied, "Hm. Your father was really mad when you got killed... He bravely rushed at Cell to avenge you." Trunks smiled. "Huh, Really? My father did that..."

Later...

Trunks prepared to leave back to his own time zone. Bulma gave him a hug and wished him luck in his time, as did everyone else. As Trunks walked towards his time machine Hope, he sensed a familiar presence. He looked over and saw Vegeta leaning against a tree, giving a sign of approval. Trunks smiled, and climbed into Hope and left. Everyone watched on, even Goku...

"Wow, now Trunks can go back to his own time and save everyone." Goku smiled like a proud father. Kaiou-sama just looked at him. "Yeah, but you didn't have to bring Cell to my planet. You could have sent him to some sparsely populated planet somewhere..." Bubbles shouted something. Goku just laughed. "You still angry about that? I'm sorry Kaiou-sama, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to go with only four seconds." Kaiou-sama just sighed and stomped off. Goku was left, thinking to himself. I'm glad you helped my son defeat Cell. You had goodness in your heart the whole time, Vegeta. Goku chased after Kaiou-sama and Bubbles, wondering what they were going to do now.

Eventually, Kaiou-sama found a large uninhabited planet that they could live on. Kaiou-sama created a house, a car and it basically looked like the old planet, except a lot larger. Goku trained and ate food for about a year. Then one day, he asked Kaiou-sama a question.

"Hey Kaiou-sama, who's my father? I came from outer space, right? So who were my parents?"

Kaiou-sama looked up from washing his car. "Your parents..? Do you think I know everything!?!"

"Well, you are a kaiou, so I thought..."

"Use your head Goku, if you want to know who your parents are, then ask the Dai-kaiou-sama!"

"The Dai-kaiou-sama?"

"The Dai-kaiou-sama!"

"Ohh... Who's the Dai-kaiou-sama?"

"He's the boss of all the Kaious."

"All... the... Kaious... Does that mean there are more of you?"

Kaiou-sama facefaulted. "Of course there are more gods than me! I can't control the entire universe by myself!"

Goku made a mocking face. "Really..? Jeez, I thought you were all powerful..."

Kaiou-sama nearly lost it. "Quiet Goku! Just go see Dai-kaiou-sama! He's over there on that planet." Goku just smiled and gave a peace sign, then flew off to the Dai-kaiou-sama's planet. Kaiou-sama just shook his head. "That Goku, just like a little kid."

Goku flew off to the Dai-kaiou-sama's planet, spinning around and floating upside down and basically having a good time. He landed on the planet and looked around. "Wow! This place is huge!" A guard walked up to him.

"Excuse me, but if you have no business here, then leave."

"I don't have a business, I just need to speak with Dai-kaiou-sama. Is he busy?"

The guard freaked out. "OF COURSE HE'S BUSY! HE'S RUNNING THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!!"

Goku was trying to calm the guard down, when who should appear but the Dai-kaiou-sama. Goku managed to calm the upset guard, then asked the Dai-kaiou, "Hey! Old man! Do you know who the Dai-Kaiou-sama is?" The guard facefaulted.

"Heh heh heh... You must be Goku. Please, come in." Goku followed him, looking around at everything in the palace. "Whoa, this place is a lot bigger on the inside than on the outside." The Dai-kaiou-sama replied. "This is the only place in the universe where the Demon Laws are allowed to be broken. That's why everything looks bigger. That's because it is." Goku just nodded. "So, do you know who the Dai-kaiou-sama is? I need to talk to him about my father." Dai-Kaiou-sama turned around. "You're lookin' at him."

Goku stopped. "You're my father?"

Dai-Kaiou-sama sweatdropped. "No, I'm the Dai-kaiou-sama!"

"Oh. Sorry I called you an old man."

"Hm. It's okay, but it is the first time someone has called me that."

"Really? When's the last time someone saw you?"

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"Well, if no one's called you an old man before, then I guess you haven't seen anyone in a long time."

Dai-kaiou-sama just sweatdropped.

After a long walk, they reached a throne room. Dai-kaiou-sama sat on the throne, then asked Goku, "What is it that you wish to ask me?" Goku scratched his head. "Um, I was wondering if you knew who my father was."

"Hmmmmmm... Your father... your father... Ah yes! He was a saiyan warrior from the planet Vegeta. He was the only saiyan who was brave enough to take a stand against Freeza. Heh heh heh, I guess that trait ran in the family."

Goku smiled. "I just wish Freeza had learned to become a good person." The Dai-kaiou looked at him with perplexed eyes. So this Goku truly is pure of heart... Goku spoke up. "Uh... Dai-kaiou-sama?"

"Huh? Oh yes, your father. His name was Bardock. He was a third class saiyan, and thus was allowed to have a family. He married a saiyan female who was strong and cared for no one but was kind and caring for both you and your brother. She was the one who wanted you to be sent to earth. That was so you could have a better life."

"My mother was... caring? I thought saiyans didn't know about love."

"Most of them don't, but your mother did. She knew that you would have a good life on Earth, as did Bardock. He had visions of you in life on Earth, with a family and being happy. He also discovered plans of the planet Vegeta being destroyed by Freeza. That's why Bardock tried to stop him."

Goku just nodded. So my father also tried to take on Freeza... "Dai-kaiou-sama?"

"What is it?"

"Can I... by any chance... meet my father? If he hasn't been reborn yet, then can I meet him? Please?"

The Dai-kaiou-sama thought about it. "Hm... Maybe. For now, maybe you would like to fight in the up coming universal tournament? We're having in honor of Northern Kaiou's passing. How 'bout it?

Goku hopped about with pleasure. "You mean it! Sure, I'd love to fight in the tournament!"

"Good. Then come by tomorrow. And tell Kaiou of the North about it. I'm sure he will want to come to a tournament named in his honor and he'll want to see his star pupil fight warriors from all over the universe."

Goku nodded his head. "I'll tell him. Thanks Dai-Kaiou-sama!" He ran towards the exit, nearly knocking over one of the guards as he left. That Goku, he is really one of a kind. No wonder he mastered the art of Kaiou-ken so quickly.

Goku flew back to Kaiou-sama's planet. "Kaiou-sama! Kaiou-sama"

"What is it Goku?"

"I talked to Dai-kaiou-sama and he said that there's a big tournament with fighters from all across the universe! And it's dedicated to your death! Can we go? Can we go?"

"Of course we can go! Stop jumping up and down!"

Goku sat down and leaned against a tree. "Oh, sorry."

Kaiou-sama then asked, "What did you learn about your father?"

"Um, he said his name was Bardock and he tried to stop Freeza."

"Hmmm..." Kaiou-sama continued to wash his car.

The Next Day...

The tournament of the universe was about to begin. All four of the kaious were there, as was the Dai-kaiou. Goku was introduced as the fighter from the North. There were three other fighters, Frog of the South, Pikehan from the West and Kodrab from the East. Frog looked like... well, a frog! Pikehan looked like Piccolo in size and stature, with similar fighting techniques. He didn't have a nose and had big lips with barbels like a catfish. Kodrab was wearing a cloak, and other than a scar on his cheek, nothing else of his face could be seen.

Goku and Kaiou-sama walked into the arena and up into the special area for the kaious. Southern Kaiou sauntered up to Kaiou-sama. "Well well well, look who's here for another challenge. I hope your fighter this time isn't as weak as your last fighter." Kaiou-sama just grumbled something. Then the Dai-kaiou-sama came into the area, sitting on his chair. "Okay! Let the games begin!"

Goku looked around. "Wow! All the fighters here have huge energy readings! They're almost as strong as me!" Southern Kaiou looked at Goku. "Hey Northern Kaiou! Is this your fighter?"

"Yeah! This is Goku! You got a problem with that?"

"I dunno, he looks pretty weak!"

"Goku is the strongest fighter in the universe! He's just hiding his true power."

"Ha! Yeah right! He won't defeat my Frog!"

The Dai-Kaiou interupted them. "Ahem, but if you could stop arguing, maybe we can see who is the strongest fighter, okay?"

Then the tournament began. "The first battle is Frog of the South versus Pikehan of the West." Goku watched as the two fighters fought it out. "Wow, this Pikehan reminds me of Piccolo!" Kaiou-sama replied, "Yes, he does seem to use the same fighting techniques as Piccolo does."

After a quick fight, Pikehan knocked out Frog in one blow. Kaiou-sama looked at the Southern Kaiou. "Hey! Looks like Frog isn't the strongest after all, hmmm?" Southern Kaiou just fumed.

Next it was Goku versus Pikehan. "Hiya! I'm Goku." Pikehan just looked at him funny. "Uh... I'm Pikehan." Goku smiled and nodded his head. "Let the best fighter win." They touched knuckles and began their fight.

"Go Goku!! You can beat him! Go go go!" Kaiou-sama was cheering on Goku with those little Japanese fans. Western Kaiou looked at him with a very large sweatdrop.

"Hah!" "Hiyah!" The two fighters were evenly matched. Both were very strong and both were very skilled. They tore up the ring, punching and kicking, blocking and jumping. Finally, Goku used the one-pattern trick and hit Pikehan behind the back to knock him out.

Goku helped Pikehan up. "Hey, you're a really good fighter. Maybe we can spar someday." Pikehan nodded his head. "Yes, and at the next tournament, I want a rematch." Goku laughed. "You got it." The next fighter for Goku to face was Kodrab. Goku looked at the hooded man. "Hey, you can take your hood off. It's not like I'm going to laugh at your face or anything."

"I'll take off my hood... after our fight."

Goku looked at him with one eyebrow up. "Um, okay. Let's go!"

They both started to fight. They both fought very well, and had similar attacks and blocks. Kaiou-sama started to have some suspisions on who this mysterious Kodrab really was...

Goku and Kodrab fought for a long time. Kodrab was getting in some good hits, but so was Goku. Then Goku punched him in the face. The hood fell off to reveal spikey hair... spikey hair like Goku's! "Nani?!?!? (English: 'What?!?!?') He has hair like me!" Goku started to wonder if this fighter was a saiyan as well. But he couldn't see the rest of his face, because Kodrab had a scarf around his face. They continued to fight some more.

"Uh, Eastern Kaiou?" Kaiou-sama asked.

"What is it Northern Kaiou?"

"Who is your fighter?"

Eastern Kaiou thought for a moment. "Well, I was going to send in Hitori, but Dai-kaiou-sama wanted me to send in this guy instead."

"Oh," Kaiou-sama replied. Hmmm... I wonder...

Goku and Kodrab were still fighting. It had been an entire hour, and both were getting worn down. But Kodrab was starting to get hit more. Goku knew that if he just pushed himself a little more then he could knock him out of the fighting mat and win the tournament. C'mon Goku, he thought to himself, You can do it! He finally managed to kick Kodrab out of the ring. "Ooof!" Kodrab got up and walked back towards the fighting mat. "Hey, good job, son." Goku hopped off the mat and smiled. "Thanks!" Kodrab turned around and started walking to the fighter's waiting area. "Follow me." Goku looked at him for a few moments, then quickly followed after him.

Kodrab entered the waiting area followed by Goku. Kodrab turned to face him. "Goku... Kakarotto..." Kodrab removed the scarf covering his face. "I'm your father, Bardock."

Goku just stared for a few minutes. He looked so much like himself, that he almost mistakened him for Taurus (Turles). "Sheesh, do all third class saiyans look the same?" Bardock laughed. "Yes, except your half-brother, Raditz. But that was because he took after my brother, a second class saiyan." Goku just cocked his head to one side and raised an eyebrow. "You mean, he wasn't born of you and mom?"

"No, he was born of my brother and your mom, so he's just your half-brother. But he gave Raditz to me as my own son, so he wouldn't get in trouble for having a child with a third class."

"Uh... Okay..."

Bardock put a hand on his son's shoulder. "You have your mother's face, and my hair. Now I'm glad that I sent you to Earth. How come you are dead now?"

Goku's expression turned grim. "An android named Cell wanted to blow up the Earth. I couldn't let that happen, because that would mean the death of thousands of innocent people. So I teleported Cell to Kaiou-sama's planet and he blew us all up."

Bardock nodded his head. "Hm, I know how you felt. I tried to stop Freeza, to protect my people. Too bad no one believed me that Freeza would kill off all the saiyans. Whatever happened to Freeza anyway?"

Goku looked up and smiled. "I defeated him." Bardock's jaw dropped. "Did you kill him, or just beat the crap out of him?" Goku said, "I just beat him, but I had mercy on him twice. Each time he tried to kill me again. I wished he would have learned to become good." Bardock was surprised. "How... How did you beat him?" Goku then raged up and turned super saiyan. "I turned super saiyan when he killed my best friend and blew him up." Bardock's jaw dropped even lower. "You... My son... a super saiyan?!? Only one in a thousand saiyans can become a super saiyan! Not even King Vegeta could achieve that!"

"Well, Prince Vegeta and his son Trunks can. In fact, Trunks was the one who truly killed Freeza. And my son can also go super saiyan. My son can go beyond super saiyan!"

Bardock eyes bugged out. "Um, you're gonna have to explain this to me..."

After three hours of catching up...

Bardock sat listening to his son's tale of life on earth, about his grandson and how the prince of his planet fell in love and had a son the third class saiyan way. Bardock told Goku of how he was cursed with the ability to see the future and discovered Freeza's plans for destroying the planet Vegeta and sent his son off to the planet Earth. Then Bardock said, "I'd like to see my grandson, if only once..." Goku thought about this. "Maybe there's a way..."

The two saiyans walked over to the Kaiou watching area. Northern Kaiou ran up to Bardock. "Hey Kodrab! I thought you were a good fighter! You couldn't even defeat this loser!" Bardock looked at him with stern eyes. "Hey! This is my son!" Northern Kaiou immediately backed down. "Okay, okay..." Kaiou-sama walked up to Goku. "So this is your father huh? He really does look like you!" Goku and Bardock looked at each other and smiled. "Dai-kaiou-sama?" Goku asked, "Can you let my father see my son, just this once?" Dai-kaiou-sama thought about this and then pointed to the television set. "Okay, but just this once." The TV turned on and Bardock saw for the first time his grandson, eating lunch. "Hey son, who's the beautiful woman next to him?" Goku beamed. "That's my wife, Chi Chi." Bardock said, "You have good taste, son." Goku didn't understand what he meant by that, but he smiled anyway. "What's my grandson's name?" "Gohan." Bardock smiled, a warm father-like smile. "Gohan."

After a while, Bardock had to go back with Southern Kaiou to continue his training. Goku asked him, "Why don't you come back with me? We can train on Kaiou-sama's planet." Bardock shook his head. "I have to stay with my Kaiou-sama. I'm still training there, and I should finish my training before I go elsewhere." Goku sighed. "Okay, but are you going to visit me?" "Of course." Father and son parted ways.

Back on Kaiou-sama's planet...

"Come back here Bubbles!" Goku chased Bubbles the monkey around the planet. Bubbles had taken Goku's bowl of rice and ran off. So Goku got up and started chasing him. Kaiou-sama was still washing his car.

"Hey! Kaiou-sama! Why are you always washing your car? Isn't it clean enough?"

"Some people like to keep their car clean, you know."

"Oh." Goku continued to chase Bubbles.

"Hey! Is there room on this planet for one more?"

Goku stopped in his pursuit of Bubbles to see Bardock land on the planet. "Father!" Goku walked up to him. "Nice to see you again." Bardock nodded. "Yeah, same here. I finally finished my training." Goku tipped his head to one side. "Huh? What kind of training?"

Bardock replied, "Kaiou-ken."

Goku's eyes bugged out. He turned to Kaiou-sama. "Hey! Kaiou-sama! I thought you said I was the only one who knew Kaiou-ken!" Kaiou-sama just shrugged. "I don't know everything!"

"But I thought..."

"Don't start that again!"

Goku just raised an eyebrow. "Okay, I won't."

Bardock was surprised. "You... you know kaiou-ken as well?"

Goku laughed. "Yeah! It only took me 70 days to learn it."

Bardock's jaw dropped. "You're full of surprises, son. I don't think my heart can handle this..."

"How long did you train for Kaiou-ken?"

"Twenty... Twenty five years..."

"Oh... Hey Dad, if you have nothing to do, why don't you train here with me?"

"What's Dad...?"

"It means father on Earth. It's what Gohan calls me."

"Oh. Sure, I could stay here for a couple of days. But after that I have to get to my new position in the Afterworld."

"New position?"

"I'm going to be one of the officials for Hell. I've been training for the past twenty years to get that job. It's a very dangerous job. I have to deal with some of the strongest evil auras down there."

Goku just listened quietly. "Wow, twenty years. Who's been doing the job for now?"

Bardock answered, "No one, actually. They just have a whole bunch of other officials to keep the evil auras in check. But when I died, they decided to train me for that job. So I've been training ever since."

Goku nodded. "Hm, well I think you would be great at the job!"

Bardock smiled.

The next couple of days passed in training, and father-son bonding. Of course, saiyan bonding is sparing. They must have raised their power by a lot because they sparred all day. After two days, Bardock flew off, giving his son a thumbs up. Goku waved goodbye, and went back inside Kaiou-sama's house to eat dinner.

Meanwhile at the Gateway to Hell...

Bardock entered the gateway, looking around at the evil auras entering the laundry machine. "Huh, I didn't know that happened to evil auras." One of the aides came out and told him, "That is our new laundery machine. The old one had been washing since... well for a long time, and it broke down, so we got another one." Bardock just gawked. "So all I have to do is run the machine?" "No, some kid will be doing that. You have to guard it." Bardock smirked. Damn, this job is gonna be easy!

It was the first day of the job, and all of sudden the job didn't seem so easy. Three auras, kept causing the others to get out of line, tried to excape and pushed around the kid running the machine. "Hey! You... Let go!" The kid tried to pull the auras off of him, then Bardock came. "You better get back in line and be good, or else." The three auras looked at him. "Or else what?" Bardock gave them an 'Or-else-you're-gonna-suffer-massive-disfigurement' look. The auras backed off, and headed back toward the line. Heh, Bardock thought, I love this job.

The three auras floated back into line, then suddenly turned around and swooped down, and posessed the kid! "AHHHHHHHHHH!" The kid screamed as his body suddenly became larger, and leaner. The body became a well muscled, green humanoid with red body armor. Bardock took a couple of steps back. "Uh oh... They didn't tell me about this during the training..."

The humanoid jumped away from the soul-washing machine, jumped up, and flew towards Enma-Daiou-sama's checkpoint station. "Oh dammit! I'd better stop him before..." Bardock flew after it.

*PING* Goku looked up all of a sudden. "Kaiou-sama, do you feel that?" Kaiou-sama looked up. "Hmmmm, yes, I feel a power coming from that direction..." He pointed towards Enma-daiou's checkpoint station. Goku knitted his brows. "Uh oh..."

The green humanoid flew straight through the ceiling of the checkpoint station. He also went straight through Enma-daiou's desk! "What...!!!!" The humanoid jumped back up, put his hand in front of Enma-daiou's face, and blasted.

A large explosion came from the checkpoint station. Bardock freaked. "Oh crap! If something happens, the entire afterworld will be out of whack!" He flew faster towards the explosion.

Goku turned to Kaiou-sama. "Kaiou-sama, I'm going over there!" With that, he jumped and took off. Kaiou-sama looked on. "Be careful Goku..."

Bardock landed on Enma-daiou's desk. "Enma-daiou-sama! Are you okay?" Enma-daiou brushed off his face. "I'm okay, but if I hadn't blocked it I would have been blown out of my chair. Well, you're in charge of this, go get him! He's outside on the roof." Bardock raised his hand in a salute. "Yes sir!" He charged out the window, and went to the roof. As he levitated upwards, a large ki blast sent him sprawling back down. "Kisama!" Bardock shot up and punched the humanoid in the face. He and the creature started a fist fight. Punch, block, this fight was fierce. But it wasn't getting anywhere. Neither of them had the upper hand. "I have no choice. KAIOU-KEN ATTACK!!!" Bardock raised his ki and started beating on the monster. The humanoid fell down, and lay on the roof, limp. Bardock powered to down to take a breather. "Wow *GASP* I must've used the Kaiou-ken attack for too long..." He was unaware of a shadow sneaking behind him... *WHAM!!!* "Ah... Oh." *Thump*

Goku flew towards the checkpoint station. One of the powers is fading... "Father! Hang on!" He flew faster, and finally landed on the roof, to see an unconscious Bardock and a laughing green humanoid. "You bastard! This is as far as a punk like you will go." The green monster laughed, and threw a punch at Goku. He caught it, and spun the creature around and around. He threw him away and kicked him in the gut. The creature spat out something purple and got right side up again. The two fighters faced off, staring each other down.

Kaiou-sama was watching the battle from his planet. "Oh no! That guy is three evil auras rolled up into one body. Be careful Goku..."

Goku and the humanoid fought for supremacy for a while. They were moving very fast, so fast that only flashes could be seen. Goku hit him in the neck, then the monster would hit Goku in the stomach. Goku then went to super saiyan level 2 and started beating on the humanoid. All of a sudden, the creature's power increased and came back with a vengence. They kept trading blows, but the fight didn't seem to go anywhere. Then the humanoid spoke. A deep, low rumble echoed through the after world.

"I will defeat all the fighters in this world, then I will take over the universe! HA HA HA!!!"

Goku looked at him, determined to win. "I will not let you..." The humanoid then started to yell. His color changed from green, to blue, and finally to black. His power level had suddenly increased. Goku felt his ki blast him through a building. "HAHA! I will kill you, but first, I will get rid of this pathetic being!" The humanoid kicked Bardock's body off the roof...

"NO! FATHER!!!" Goku teleported straight to his father's body and caught it. He slowly placed it on the ground, then looked back at the humanoid. "How dare you pick on a helpless being, especially my father. YOU'LL PAY!" Goku started to scream. "HAAAAAAAAAA!" His yellow hair started to grow longer. His eyebrows became ridges. He had electricity crackling all over his body. He was pissed. He looked at the humanoid and in one blow, threw him back towards a building. Goku grabbed the creature by the neck with his left hand. "How dare you think you could get away with beating my father. I'll destroy you!" He raised his right hand and created an energy ball. He shot it through the creature's stomach, then made another one and shot off his head. Then Goku laid the body down on the roof, and watched the three auras dissipate from the boy. The boy looked up and freaked. But Goku changed back to normal, and reassured the boy that he wasn't dangerous.

Goku flew down to his father. He lifted his head. "Father? Dad, can you hear me?" Bardock lifted an eyelid. "I had a vision of you in super saiyan with long hair and eyebrow ridges." Goku smiled. "Is that what I look like in super saiyan three? Huh..." Bardock looked up. "So it wasn't a vision?" Goku smiled and went SSJ3. Bardock just smiled back. "Wow, I never would have guessed that my son would the strongest in the universe." Goku said, "Um... Actually Gohan's power is higher than mine. He just doesn't like to fight." Bardock just grunted an acknowledgement and got up. "Well, since the evil has been beat back, why don't we celebrate!" Goku nodded. "Good idea."

"Not so fast."

Both saiyans looked up at a peeved Enma-daiou-sama. "Uh... yes Enma-sama?" Enma looked at them with stern eyes. "No one is going anywhere. Not until this mess is cleaned up." Goku and Bardock sighed and slumped over. "Well, so goes the life of the dead..."
