First Thoughts - Gohan

By: Top Ace

The first day I went to school, I saw her blue eyes and I freaked. I didn't know I would be seeing those blue eyes a lot in the future...

GohanThe first time I met her, she was quiet and suspicious of me. I guess that was because there had been reports of the "golden-haired warrior" appearing around town. Shapner told me she was the daughter of Mr. Satan. I looked at her, and she was staring at me with two crystal blue eyes. She questioned me, saying that I had the same clothes as the stranger. I hastily denied any affiliation with the warrior, and said that I was a weakling. Later that day, I knew that I would have to get a costume to hide my identity, and to get her prying eyes off me. She made me nervous, and yet for some reason I felt a connection with her. I went to Bulma's house, and three hours later she made me a cool "Saiyaman" costume. I thought it was really neat. I practiced in the mirror for hours, making poses and such. My brother Goten thought I looked way cool. My mother thought this was ridiculous, but she me let do it anyway. So now I was the Great Saiyaman, the fighter of justice!

In two days flat, she figured it out and told me that she would tell everyone that I was the Great Saiyaman if I didn't participate with her in the upcoming Budokai. I didn't have much of a choice...

At the Budokai, she clung onto my arm and treated me like a boyfriend. It was a funny feeling. I was nervous, but I liked it. I watched at she fought Supopovitch. I told her to stop, but she kept going. I was surprised that she lasted that long. Supopovitch pounded her, and I was totally enraged. I ran out, telling him to stop beating her. I don't know what came over me. It had only been a few months but I felt like I had known her for years. I cared for her so much...

Gohan & VidelMy dad got her some senzu beans and she came out to watch me fight Kibito. But I was frozen into place by the Supreme Kaiou-sama and Supopovitch and some other guy took my energy. As I lay there, drifting towards unconsciousness, I heard a voice. "Gohan! Don't die!" It was her. I struggled to keep awake, until Kibito healed me. He told me that my father and the others had flown off to follow the ones who had stolen my energy. He flew off and I started to follow him when she stopped me. "I'm going to." I looked at her and tried to talk her into not going, but she said, "I'm going, whether you let me or not." I finally gave in.

We flew away and we caught up with Kibito. He told us about Majin-Buu and how all this started, and he also told us about why they used me. Then I noticed when she started to fall behind. "Maybe you should go back," I told her. She agreed, knowing that she barely had enough energy to go back. She told me not to get killed and asked if I was the one who actually defeated Cell seven years ago. I didn't say anything, but I think she knew. She wished me good luck and stopped flying. I waved goodbye, and flew off after Kibito, not knowing when I would see her again. I heard her voice float to my ears... "I'll be waiting for you at the Budokai..."

Little did I know that I would go through a series of adventures, fighting fat Buu, traveling to the Kaiou Planet, meeting my dad again and getting a major power boost.

I returned to Earth after getting my power-up, bent on defeating Buu. But he had changed forms! I was not going to give up however. But then Buu absorbed Gotenks and Mr. Piccolo. He was stronger than ever, and I got creamed. Then my dad came and threw me a fusion earring. But I dropped it and I got absorbed by Buu. After that, all was black.

I remember dying, but I don't remember feeling any pain. I looked around and I found Piccolo floating around, meditating. He told me that the Earth blew up and we all died. I couldn't believe it. I floated over next to him, and wondered what would happen next.

Then suddenly we were brought back to life and I heard Vegeta telling us to give our energy to "the fighter fighting Buu." I knew that it was my father, and I gladly gave up my energy. So did Piccolo, Trunks and Goten. We all sensed the giant Spirit Bomb destroy Majin Buu, and then we flew to Kami's Lookout. I looked around, then I saw her again. She ran up to me and put her arms around me. Then she started hitting me. "How dare you! I was so worried about you! Never worry me again!" And I never did.

Now, I am a scholar and she, well I really don't know. She does all sorts of things, writes books, does pep talks with school kids and the like. I still remember when I asked her to marry me...

"Um, Videl?" She looked at me with those clear blue eyes that I had fallen in love with. "Yes?" I held up a ring with an aquamarine stud, the same color as her eyes. "Will... will you marry me?" She took the ring, put it on her finger and gave me a kiss. "Of course, I've been waiting for you to say that." I smiled. "I love you Videl." "I love you too Gohan."

Now we have a daughter, whom my father spoils too much. I tell him not to spoil her, but he insists that he's not. Then he goes and buys her ice cream... Oh well. Pan loves her grandfather so much, it was kind of heart-breaking for her when he left to train with Ubu. But she's growing up and I love her more than anything. Pan and Videl are my life now, even though I still worry about my mom. I visit her often, since Dad is gone. My dad, Goku...? I can only dream about what he's doing now...
