I didn't even know what marriage was until I asked Krilyin. But when I found out, well I figured it was new adventure, and I don't back out of my promises, especially not to her...
I was a little boy when I first met her, after the Ox King had sent me out to look for his daughter. I thought she was cute, until she grabbed my tail. But I wasn't angry. She didn't know, and I was surprised that she could ride the Kintoun. We came back, and the Ox King asked if I would agree with 'Marriage' with her. I agreed, thinking marriage was something to eat. In a way it is, if you think about it...
One day while I was trying to find my grandfather's dragon ball after the first Budokai, I stopped by an apple tree to get something to eat. I heard a soft voice humming a tune. I looked out of the tree and there was Chi Chi, picking flowers. I said hi to her and jumped out of the tree. She smiled and gave me some flowers. I gave her an apple. We talked and I fell asleep. That's how our relationship began, I guess. She slapped me around a lot. I don't think she did it to hurt me, but she was strong, even compared to me at the time.
Anyway, a lot of time passed, and before I knew it, I was grown up entering the Budokai and meeting up with the others. Then I saw her. I thought she was just another fighter, not realizing that she would be my future wife. She eventually came up to me, but I didn't recognize her. She stomped away fuming, leaving me completely puzzled. Later, we fought and she told me her identity as the daughter of the Ox King.
After our fight, she told me that I had promised marriage to her. I asked Krilyin what marriage was, and he told me that it was when two people live together and start a family. So I decided that it couldn't be too bad, and I didn't want to back out of a promise, so I agreed. The look on her face was so pretty, I still remember her being so happy.
When I had to leave to return to the other world, she ran to me, crying, worrying about Gohan. I told her that she still had Goten, and that I would see her again. Then Uranai Baba told me that it was time to go, so I flew off, and told everyone that when they died, I would see them again.
