Hello again! This is Top Ace! I managed to find some free time, with school work and stuff, so I decided to write about a dream that I had when I was little. When you were little, did you ever wish that your favorite cartoon character would come to life? Well, it's about to happen to this lucky (or maybe unlucky) girl...

Oh, and all disclaimers and that kind of crap, yada, yada.

Dream

Karen tossed fitfully in her sleep. "Hiei..." She woke up with a start. "I've been watching too much anime..." She got out of bed and looked at herself in the mirror. Behind her was standing a very ticked off Hiei. "AHHHHHH!"

"This has got to be a dream, You're not real!" Hiei looked her over. "Oh am I? How does this feel?" Hiei slapped her in the back of the head. "Ow! Okay, so maybe you're real. But that doesn't explain how you got here." Hiei took a calm breath and quietly explained. "It's part of an exchange program. You wanted me, so the "anime world" took your brother for a couple of days in exchange for me." "Ohh.." Karen said, not really understanding, but glad that her brother wouldn't be bothering her for a couple of days. "Karen? Are you alright?" Karen froze. "It's my mom! Hiei, hide or else I'm busted!" Hiei was already hiding, so Karen relaxed when her mom opened the door and asked if she was okay. "I'm okay Mom, just had a strange dream." "Okay dear, if there is something wrong, you tell me," and she closed the door. "Whew! Hiei?" Hiei popped out from behind the closet, tangled in some of her dresses. Karen sweatdropped. "I get the feeling this is going to be a long 2 days..."

Hiei followed quietly behind Karen as she walked to school. "Do you have to follow me everywhere?" "Yes," Hiei said. "I have to stay. It's part of the contract." Karen sweatdropped. They made it to class, and Karen quickly explained that Hiei was her cousin from out of town. "Okay Karen, he can stay, but make sure he stays quiet." Karen took her usual seat next to the window, and Hiei hopped up and sat on the window sill. Most of day went well, untill lunch time. "Hey Hiei, are you hungry?" Hiei looked up at her.

"I want some sweet snow."

"Huh?"

"You know, the creamy stuff that is cold and sweet."

"Ohhhhhhh. You mean ice cream?"

"Yeah. Whatever."

Karen walked up to the cafeteria lady and bought an ice cream cone for Hiei. Then a group of bullies walked up to them. "Hey Karen, I didn't know you were babysitting," the leader, Mike, said. "Who's the little kid?" Hiei looked at them with anger. Mike swaggered up to Hiei, snatched his ice cream, and ate it. "Mmmmmm, that was good. Poor you, no ice cream for you! Ha Ha Ha!" Hiei's arm started smoking. "Hey, this kid is on fire!" Mike said and started to back off. Karen said, "Ummm Hiei, this isn't a good time..." "Shut up," Hiei said as he jumped into the air and punched out the bully. "What's going on here?" All the students immediately froze and pointed at Hiei. "Who is responsible for this child?" Karen stepped forward. "I am sir. I'm sorry." "Take this hoodlum brat of yours and go home. You're suspended from school for the rest of the day." Karen took Hiei's arm. "C'mon. Let's go."

"Suspended from school? Karen, this isn't like you. Is there something wrong?" "It's nothing Mom. Besides, it's Friday, so there's no school tomorrow anyway." Karen walked up to her room, where Hiei was sitting on her bed, slurping up the ice cream she had bought him on the way home and making a huge mess. "HIEI! I told you not to make a mess!!!" Karen lifted the little fire demon off her bed, took off the sheets and went down stairs to wash them. Hiei just stood in her room, face covered in ice cream.

Hiei slept on the floor, wrapped up in Karen's blanket. Karen slept on her bed, with no blanket and she was freezing. She slowly crept out of bed, and shook Hiei awake. "Can I have my blanket back? You're a fire demon, so you probably don't need it." Hiei looked back, with a sleepy expression. "Yeah sure, here's your blanket." When Karen took the blanket in her hands, she fought back the urge to scream. "This blanket is hot!" Hiei made a half-smile. "Of course. I am a fire demon." Karen looked back and stuck her toungue out at him, then went back to sleep. "No respect," Hiei muttered as he went back to sleep.

The next day, Hiei was outside practicing with his sword. Karen got up, washed up and went outside. "Hiei, you're gonna attract unwanted attention with that thing," Karen said. Hiei just ignored her and kept practicing. Karen sat down and watched him. She began to think back. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to have Hiei here. She also began to miss her brother, as annoying as he was.

"Hiei?"

"Hm?"

"When do you have to go back?"

"Do you want me to leave?"

"No, but I was just wondering..."

"Tomorrow morning. You probably won't see me leave, since I wake up early."

"Oh." Karen heard the sound of a car. "Karen, I'm going to visit a friend. I'll be back late tomorrow night, so make yourself lunch and dinner, okay?" "Sure Mom!" The car took off, and Karen thought to herself, Woohoo! A whole day by myself with Hiei. What can we do today?

As the sun got higher in the sky, Hiei took off his coat. (Hold on for a second.. *drool*) Karen just stared at his finely muscled body for a long time.

"Karen? Are you hungry?"

"Huh? Hiei? Why do you ask?"

"Because you're drooling."

"Ummm... Yeah, I think it's time for lunch." (Of course WE all know why she was drooling... *drool*)

It was lunch time and Karen brought a sandwich for her and a pint of ice cream for Hiei. "Here you go," Karen said as she handed him a candy bar.

"What's this?"

"It's a chocolate bar."

"Can you eat it?"

"Duh! Just unwrap it and eat it," Karen explained when she looked over and saw Hiei stick the entire candy bar, wrapper and all, in his mouth. "Blah! This doesn't taste good at all!" Hiei yelled. "What are you trying to do, kill me?" Karen took the bar from his mouth, unwrapped it and shoved it into his mouth. "You eat it like that, silly." Hiei slowly chewed it and swallowed. "Hey, this is pretty good," he says as he reaches for the pint of ice cream and starts shoveling it into his mouth. "Use a spoon for cryin' out loud!" Hiei looked up at her between scoops. "I knew that," he says while he reaches for the spoon. "Oh boy," Karen sighs. "I can't wait for this to be over..."

"What's this?" "Don't push that!" *Boom!* "You're going to have to clean that..."

Late that night...

After a VERY long dinner during which Hiei blew up the oven, Karen finally managed to clean up everything. She slipped into her pajamas and walked into her room. There, curled up on her bed, was Hiei. "Grr. I've had enough of that little..." She stopped when she looked at his face. It was so content, so peaceful. "I guess he isn't that bad." She crawled in with him, and held him like a teddy bear. She heard him start to purr. How cute... Just like a cat, and he's so warm, Karen thought. She drifted into a peaceful sleep...

The next morning, Hiei was gone, but he left her a note. It said, "Thanks for putting up with me for the past few days. "You have been really nice to me. Thanks." Karen smiled softly. She decided that she wouldn't mind having him around for a couple more days...

Relax, Hiei and Karen are NOT an item. They are just close friends in this fic, like brother-sister. I just thought a warm fuzzy kind of fanfic would be nice. Most fanfics I've read have love and romance kind of stuff, so I thought something like this would be different.

Do you want to read my other fanfics? Then E-Mail me at topace12@hotmail.com Oh, and if you want to be in one of my next fanfics, then I would be glad to put you in!
