Hey! I just got an idea after reading some fics that weren't YAOI (hides from yaoi writers). I, being a yaoi writer (Now that you've all warped me...) decided that Hiei needs to learn how to... uh... sleep with a girl... Relax yaoi writers, for I have not forgotten about Kurama. You'll see... This fic is sort of a take on my I'll see you next lifetime fic, but oh well. Um... No lemon, but if you want a lemon version, e-mail me and I'll consider it...
Oh yeah, and all characters belong to their original owners, blah blah blah, disclaimers and that kind of crap apply, yada, yada...
It had been a wonderful night. Lying asleep in his lover's arms, Hiei snuggled in for a peaceful sleep. Little would he know that in 12 hours, his precious fox would be dead...
SCREEEEEEEECH! HONK! THUMP. "Ohmygod! Minamino has been hit by a car!" Hiei watched in horror as a car hit Kurama, head on. He had been too slow to stop it. It struck, and Kurama had not jumped out in time. His body lay, dead in the street, with blood oozing from all directions. Hiei ran to the scene, picked up the body, and left for Koenma's palace.
"KOENMA!!!!!!" The teenage form of Koenma stood up, and watched as Hiei brought a dead Kurama before him. "Revive him. NOW." Koenma sucked on his pacifier, pondering his options. "Uh... Hiei, listen. This is going to be dificult for you to swallow..." Hiei jumped up on the table and grabbed his neck. "What are saying?" Koenma gasped. "Let... me... down... and... I'll... tell... you..." Hiei let him down with a toss. "Ahem. Let me explain. It seems that Shuuichi Minamino was scheduled to die today. But Youko Kurama's soul is still wondering about. I hope you found his soul first before you came to me." Hiei opened his eye's in shock. He had not used his jagan to search for his soul first. Stupid me! Hiei thought with a scowl as he bent down to cradle Shuuichi's limp form. "Koenma... What can I do... Tell me... Please..." Hiei was close to tears as he pleaded with the Lord of the Dead for help. Koenma had never seen Hiei show any signs of emotion. "Hiei, I think I can help you..."
Hiei leaped through the trees, searching with his jagan. Koenma had told him that maybe his jagan would find Kurama's soul. His jagan showed him the way to a little country house outside of Tokyo. Inside was a doctor and a woman. He watched as the doctor told the woman that she was pregnant. Hiei focused his jagan on the woman's belly, and felt Kurama's soul. Good. I'll just watch him from here...
Nine Months Later...
"WAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" Man, Kurama cries a lot. The woman who had given birth to Kurama's new form was smiling, cooing at the baby. The doctor spoke up. "Ma'am, you have a baby girl!" Hiei freaked. What! A girl! Damn... The woman nuzzled her daughter. She looked outside and saw the horses on her farm run around, as if they were flying. "I think I'll name you Hima, the flying horse..."
Several years later...
A very irritated mother stood by while she tried to get Hima's shoes on. "But Ma, I don't wanna go to school!"
"Don't worry about it, you'll make lots of new friends."
"But I wanna be with the horseys and the cows!"
"Stay still!" Hima sat still, but fumed over the fact that she would be away at "kintergarden" for half a day. "Okay, let's go."
Above in a tree, Hiei watched as his lover, who was now at the age of 5, trudge towards a large building filled with other kids. Grrr. I'd better watch over her... He followed silently, like a guardian angel.
(Hiei: HEY! I am anything BUT an angel! TA: Deal with it.)
Anyway, Hiei watched as all the little boys started to talk to Hima. Hn. Always the charmer...
A year later...
As the little first grade Hima walked to school, she whistled a happy tune. She was glad that she was going to first grade, unlike her kindergarten years. She had made many friends during that first year and was happy that her friends would be in the same class as she. She skipped happily when all of a sudden two bullies tripped her. *Thump* "Oww!" Hima looked up at the two big 6th graders looking down at her. "Give us your lunch or your money, or else." She was paralyzed with fear. Then in a flash the two boys were gone, in the middle of the street, knocked unconscious. "Huh? Oh well, I guess I should go get some help..." Hima ran the rest of the way to school, to go get some help. Hn. Always caring of her ningens...
Another several years later...
Hima was now a gorgeous 17 year old girl. She was the most popular girl in high school, had perfect grades, much like Shuuichi Minamino. But one thing was different.
(Hiei: Yeah, she doesn't remember ME. TA: I'll get to that...)
Ahem. Where was I? Oh yeah, Hima had no recollection of who she was, or who Hiei was. Too bad for Hiei.
(Hiei: Yeah. Too bad for me. TA: Stop interrupting me!)
Hima gathered her books and went home through the park, to get away from all the guys that wanted to carry her books or something like that. She walked towards the park, sighing to herself as she slowly realized that she had no true friends. All the other girls were jealous of her and refused to be her friend, while all the guys just wanted to be her boyfriend. She sighed sadly, and crossed the street. But she wasn't watching where she was going... HONK! Hima barely had time to scream as a big rig headed her way...
Then a flying shadow flew into her sight, and she saw nothing but black, and felt like she was flying until she was suddenly put down in the park. She had always had this feeling that someone was watching over her, but this was not the way she imagined her guardian. A short boy with spikey black hair with a white starburst in the middle. He also a creepy red eyes. But he did seem familiar in a vague way... "Thanks. Wh... Who are you anyway?" Hiei looked at her, the pain stabbing at his chest. For 17 years he had watched his precious fox grow up, and now, now she didn't even remember him. "I... I'm a friend." Hiei turned around and disappeared. Hima sat on the ground, stunned. "Uh... Okay..."
A red haired boy helped his mother wash the dishes. "Shuu-chan, go ahead and go to sleep. I'll finish here." "Thanks Kassan!" The boy ran up to his room, and saw the ruby-eye boy, with a loving expression. "Hiei, I love you..."
Hima sat up in her bed, gasping for breath. "What was that?" She shook her head and looked at the clock. 1:00 AM. She decided to go back to bed.
A man with fox ears and a tail ran through a thick forest, accompanied by the spikey-haired boy. "Hey Hiei! Catch me if you can!" "Hn. I'll catch you Kurama. You'll see..."
Hima sat up again, annoyed by all her wierd dreams. "Why the hell am a fox man and a teenage guy with red hair? Stupid puberty..." she muttered as she lay back down on the pillow. But she felt that she was being watched. She looked at the clock. It was 5:00 AM. "I can't get back to sleep!" She got out of bed and opened her window. There, sitting on a tree branch, was the boy.
"Hey! Boy!" Hiei nearly fell off the tree as she called out to him. "Hey... Damn it! What was his name... Hiei! Hiei! Come here!" Hiei got up and walked to her window. She opened it and he hopped inside. Hima spoke up. "I've noticed that someone has always been watching over me. Was that you?"
"..."
"Answer me."
"..."
Hima was about to give up when she saw the look on his face. It was of... Was it fear? Terror? No, it wasn't any of those when she looked down to her shirt. It was unbuttoned half way and revealed a lot of cleavage... She looked up at him and quickly turned around to button her shirt. "Okay, now that there's nothing to stare at, was it you that has been watching over me?" Hiei nodded, still not making a sound. "My mother is out on a trip, you can talk aloud." Hiei finally spoke. "Yes, I've been watching over you, Kurama." Hima took a step back. His voice was so deep and sexy... No! You don't even know this guy. You can't attracted to him... She asked him, "Who's Kurama?"
Hiei fought back tears as he kneeled down, to tell his lover who he, or she really was. He hated to show his emotions like this, but he couldn't hold them back. He was alone in this world, his loved one abandoning him to the rages of reincarnation.
Hima sat beside him, and brushed away his tears. Amazingly enough, the tears formed black pearls that fell to the floor. She picked one up and looked at. Slowly, she began to remember... "I remember. I remember being a youko, and a human. I remember a caring mother, and being a reikei tantei. And I remember you, my love." Hiei blinked back tear of grief and started to shed tears of joy. "Oh! Kurama!" He ran up to her and hugged her fiercly, burying himself in her arms. She smiled, happy at her new found knowledge. But she still couldn't remember too clearly. She just had flashes and images, but throughout it all, there was one strong feeling. The power of love. With her lover's help, she knew that he would help her open up the secrets locked away in her past lives. They would discover her life, past, present and future, together.
