Hello people! This is a song fic about a Jewel song called "What's Simple is True." There's YAOI in this, so if you don't like it, then go away...
Oh yeah, and all characters belong to their original owners, blah blah blah, disclaimers and that kind of crap apply, yada, yada...
On a cold winter night, a lone figure walks through the streets. He has his hands in his pockets and is walking slowly towards an apartment building. He gets there and knocks on the door.
Turn to me with frozen lips, your hands are icy cold
Your eyes burn bright against the frost-bit sky
You never looked more lovely than you do, tonight
It has been 3 years since Kurama saw Hiei last, and he misses him terribly. He is thinking about him when he hears the knock on the door. There, standing in the snow, is a freezing Hiei, who falls into his arms.
Pale on the horizon, like leaves frozen in the snow
Our two shadows merge inseparably
Will time stand still if it's pierced with cold?
Kurama carries the freezing Hiei to his room and gently removes his clothes and wraps warm blankets around him. Hiei lies in bed, breathing softly, and Kurama watches him with loving eyes.
The more I live, the more I know
What's simple is true
I love you
Kurama bends down and lays a kiss on Hiei's jagan. This makes Hiei become wide awake. He looks at Kurama with warm eyes. Kurama leans over to kiss Hiei on the lips.
There's a warmth in my heart
It haunts me when you're gone
Mend me to your side and never let go
Say 'Time knows nothing, we'll never grow cold'
Kurama tells Hiei about how much he has missed him. Hiei tells him how Mukuro has imprisoned him for the past 3 years. Hiei is quickly regaining his health, and hugs Kurama, thanking him for being faithful.
The more I live, the more I know
What's simple is true
I love you
Kurama kisses Hiei, and this time, Hiei responds, kissing, exploring, caressing like never before. Kurama lets go of his 3 years of held back love. Hiei does the same, showing his feelings like he never has in his life. The clothes start to fly as the darkness of night falls upon the apartment.
Twilight descends on our silhoulette
How soon spring comes, how soon spring forgets
I wanna hold time, say it'll never begin
Old man winter be our friend, old man winter be our friend
After their night of passion, Hiei wakes up. It is past midnight. Hiei looks back at his fox, sleeping quietly on the bed. His hair is spread out like the sunset on the horizon. It had been so long since he had been with Kurama like that. Too long. He got out of the bed, and walked to the desk. There, on the desk was a picture of him and Kurama, with Kurama's arms around him. He realized how much he had missed his fox, and loves him more than ever. As he ponders this thought, two strong arms wrap around him, and he turns to see a twinkle in Kurama's eyes, as he leads him back to the bed.
'Cause the more I live, the more I know
What's simple is true
What's simple is true
I love, I love you
The stars shine even brighter, as the two lovers hold each other gently, carried to sleep by their heartbeats.
