At first sight (and even after... :-) Ryo seems to be a bit (just a bit?) crazy but, when you begin knowing him better, you realize how calm, cool and, overall, amazingly accurate shot he is: don't forget that he's the biggest lech since Ataru Moroboshi!
Kaori is Ryo's deceased partner's sister and runs the business side of City Hunter (she's not only full of go, but even quite dangerous some time to time...). She's also the *last* woman who Ryo would made a pass at (in fact he loves her but doesn't want to show it... hum, hum!).
The jobs range from being a bodyguard (usually for a stunning girl :-)... Directly from Ryo's orders: "Kaori, remember that I ONLY work for beautiful ") to virtual espionage. Ryo is quite... hum, how should I say it... Well, click here to get the idea...
Last but not least: Kaori (who also loves Ryo... what a sweet couple!) is used to keep his FREQUENT 'sex maniac' tendencies in check with an 100 t (!!) hammer or fastening him (most of the times when he's already in underwear) to a huuuge mine (!!!) :-)
Well, in a more formal way (and in case you still didn't catch it) "City Hunter" is an action-adventure with some comedy (and lightly erotic) elements...
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT CITY HUNTER:
City Hunter adventures are very funny and original: the characters differents personalities, the new story elements which always stick out when you'll never expect they will and, overall, the true feelings which relate all the City Hunter company beneath the appearences -especially when there's a difficult situation pointing at hte horizon- make up an excellent mix.
Unfortunately, the TV-series, (which anyway follows the manga quite well) doesn't show at all the real Tsukasa Hojo's skills. The censure soften the story a lot!! Unbelievable but true: in the manga Ryo's 'female-affairs' don't steadily finish under Kaori's huge mallet!!!
Plus, several characters don't appear on TV (for ex. Kyotsu Juyu who provides Ryo with weapons).
