Hong Kah GRC, in conjunction with the official opening of Zone 5 RC Centre at Blk 549 and
the Cosy Corner at Blk 545.

Yew Tee Zone 5 Residents' Committee (RC) was formed on 1st December
1994, serves residents of 22 residential blocks at Choa Chu Kang Street 51
& 52 and tenants of the Limbang Shopping Centre.
Zone 5 RC comprises of 27 multi-racial Executive Committee
members, 1 Associate member
and 1 Block Representative, working towards the objectives of
promoting neighbourliness, racial harmony and social cohesion, liaising
with the various authorities on the needs and problems of residents,
explaining and clarifying
The Committee is well organised and structured into various
sub-groups such as Educational Classes, Tai-Ji cum Senior Citizen, Malay
Activities, Gardening, Educational Tour, Neighbourhood Watch Group, IT,
Sports and Maintenance.
The created Neighbourhood Vegetable Garden located at Blk 543,
was officially opened on 21st April 2002. This garden keeps the senior
citizens occupied during their free time and promote healthy lifestyle.
Through close working relationship with the Neighbourhood Police
in ensuring a safe and secure living environment, Zone 5 RC was awarded
the Merit Award in 2001 National NWZ competion. Another proud
achievement was the 3-Star PA Commendation Award for 2002. All these
achievements are attributed to a group of dedicated and energetic members
who sacrifices their personal commitments for the purpose of serving
residents and making Yew Tee a nice and pleasant place to live in.
On behalf of our Committee Members, I would like to take this opportunity to
thank residents for their active participations and support.
Our Committee Members
will continue to serve you and I would like to appeal to residents to come forward to join
our team in achieving the objective of creating a better environment to live in.
Our best wishes to the residents of Yew Tee Zone 5. |

Everyone today is worried about SARS
and whether they could be affected by it. The
Ministry
of Health has taken extra precautionary steps, beyond WHO's
recommended measures to minimise the spread of SARS. It is
unlikely that you or loved ones can contract SARS in Singapore,
particularly if you had not travelled to the affected areas or had not
come into contact with a SARS patient. There
is a part for everyone in preventing TERRORISM.
Everyone is potentially exposed to the terrorist threat. We can
minimise the risk of becoming victims of terrorism. Together we
can make Singapore our safe and secure best home. |
