Geography

Hong Kong is my place. Its area is about 1076km^2.There are more than 6 million people living in this place. It has very high population density.

There are 3 main parts: Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula, and the New Territories and outlying islands. [map]

History

Hong Kong has a long history. It has been at the far end of the boundary of China for long time. Before the turn of the 20th century, because of the Opium War, Hong Kong was ceded to Britain and after 5 years, the New Territories was leased for 99 years and thus there was the 1997 issue.

After 1st July 1997, Hong Kong reunited with PRC and has become Kong Kong Special Administration Region (HKSAR).
