 | International Field Volunteer For people who are interested to help
implement Mahabodhi projects in their home country, especially people who have visited
Ladakh or MIMC, sign up as an international field volunteer ! Specifically, MIMC needs
help in these following areas:
 | Contact people who are interested to visit Ladakh and organize group tours |
| Organize gatherings for local sponsors and supporters to update them on the recent
developments in MIMC. |
| Duplicate and distribute information on MIMC, such as brochures, newsletters and video. |
| Translate MIMC brochures into different language (e.g. German, Chinese, Japanese,
Spanish & French) |
| Disseminate information about MIMC through personal and business contacts |
| Seek out websites of organizations affiliated to Mahabodhi who are willing to include a
link to MIMC's website. |
| Seek out organizations and corporations that will be receptive to sponsorship or
receiving information about MIMC |
| Answer queries and questions about MIMC |

| Summer Volunteers For people who are willing and able to spend some
time in Ladakh, working as a Mahabodhi volunteer enables you to experience the local
culture intimately and a chance to do something meaningful. Volunteers are needed in the
following areas:
| Teaching children at the Mahabodhi Residential School and the Mahabodhi Temisgam Branch
School |
| Assistance in conducting meditation courses. Volunteer must have some meditation
experience |
| Secretarial work and administrative duties, especially people who have working
experience with computers |

| MIMC postcards and desktop calendars |
| Internet
|
| Foreign School Friendship and Penpal Programs
| Seek volunteers to contact schools (e.g. volunteers' alma mata, friends
who are teachers, schools with an interest in Eastern religion and philosophy) |
| Conduct summer camps and tours for foreign students and families
|

| Magazine & Newspaper Articles
| Write various short general-interest articles and features that will
appeal to both Buddhist and non-Buddhist publications
|
|
| Scholarship Program
| Sponsor the best and the brightest students from the MIMC residential school for further
studies in universities in India and overseas, so that they can return and contribute
directly to the community |
| Selection should be based on academic results, leadership qualities, and public-service
spirit |
| Mandatory service term during vacations and 3 - 4 years after graduation |
| Homestay program for Mahabodhi students during their studies overseas |
